Microsoft and Lionhead Studios have announced Fable Anniversary, a high-definition remake of the original Fable, coming to Xbox 360 this holiday.
The game, which includes all of the Fable: The Lost Chapters content, will offer 1080p high-definition visuals, updated lighting, textures, models, facial, and cutscene animations, a new interface, new save system, “nearly non-existent” loading times, achievements, Smartglass integration (use the second screen as a map, take screenshots), and online leaderboards for the chicken kicking mini-game.
Post-release add-on content is something Lionhead wants to “investigate” down the road, according to the studio’s Ted Timmins, who discussed the game in a Major Nelson podcast.
“I wouldn’t say it’s a no, but I wouldn’t say it’s a yes,” said Timmins regarding post-release download content. “I think really it’s a case of, once we actually get closer to finishing the game, it’s definitely something we want to investigate.”
