Make use of those Tretta tiles outside the arcade.

Japanese arcade game Pokemon Tretta is coming to 3DS.

Titled Pokemon Tretta Lab, the 3DS game, which is more of a companion app to the arcade game, uses a “Tretta Scanner” attachment, compatible with 3DS and 3DS XL models, to read Tretta tiles and scan in Pokemon. The game itself is included with the attachment as a download code.

Pokemon Tretta Lab offers three modes:

  • Tretta Analyzer: Displays the Pokemon’s 3D model and stats, like type and strength, read from Tretta tile.
  • Type Checker: Allows users to check the type compatibility between two Pokemon scanned in from Tretta tiles.
  • Auto-Battle: A battle mode where two Pokemon scanned in from Tretta tiles fight. You’ll be able to battle with friends and set various rules.

Pokemon Tretta Lab will launch in Japan on August 10 for 3,800 yen with Mewtwo, Eevee, and Lucario Tretta tiles. First-run purchasers will get a bonus Pichu tile.

I want the Ruby remake already since I told myself that would be the last one I buy

    Looks cumbersome.

      I agree, looks very uncomfortable.

Thing with this is that it sounds cool as an add-on to the arcade game… but only Japan has the arcade game.

With all these new Pokemon things coming out, why didn’t they just do one with the Pokemon cards? Something where you can buy a deck and put it into the game. I loved collecting the cards (I still do from time to time) and the Pokemon trading card game on Gameboy Color was awesome. I’d take that over something like this.

The Pokemon TCG on GBC was amazing, it really taught you the rules of the game and showed some deep strategy, plus it was well written for what it was. I rarely ever hear/see/read people talk about said game though, totally made my afternoon Haku <3

You’re welcome :) That game was so much fun, I’ve been wanting one for quite a while and with all the Pokemon spin offs I see I get kind of sad that it isn’t one included. I was so addicted to that game though, That and the Pokemon Pinball game :p

Pokemon Pinball was strangely fun and I recall that a “sequel” game was made but not localized, let me fact check that: yes, a sequel was made and released for Japan only T_T!

I loved Pokemon Pinball. I know your comment is almost two weeks old, but damn that game was fun.

Love the graphics hate the way they are going about this game. This is like a skylanders ploy to make millions, but without a real game. I’ll pass.
