Let’s get some hype rolling, we’re in the final leg of the wait for E3. 9 more days before we can see all the surprises that’s in store for Gen 8 and make purchasing decisions that’ll no doubt affect us for another 6-7 years xD! Currently I’m cautiously excited, I hope some stealth announcements leading up to E3 will send me over the edge. How about the rest of you?

    • Prodigy-X

I hope Sony announces 8 Days for PS4.

      • Kurisu Makise

More wild predictions like this! Personally, I just want 2 surprising announcements for Vita. One from Japanese side and one from Western side. That’s all they need to do as I have no doubt PS4 will blow me away.

    • SystemLimbic

E3 before new gen should be very interesting

      • Kurisu Makise

It only comes around every 5+ years (E3 before a new gen) so I really hope E3 2013 just knocks it out of the park.

  • Prodigy-X

Where is Nomura radio interview at?

  • kuusou yume

I just want to know more about the next-gen platforms. Mostly the price. Excited to hear about Versus XIII (XV) and hopefully more Vita games & Persona 5

  • bloodiOS

Just watched After Earth today and by Heaven, that has to be most boring movie I have watched this year.

    • MrKappa

Haven’t seen it yet but what movie would you compare it to? For some reason it looks like Prometheus to me and that was quite a boring movie.

      • bloodiOS

Kind of… just a whole lot more boring and predictable…

    • DichaTesoro

The trailers look boring. Did you at least get some good snacks or have a good laugh at it all?

      • bloodiOS

I was just glad to have decided to get lemonade instead of soda. It really helps calm my mind.

Anyway, this was the last straw. The next time I hear of the name M. Night Shyamalan, I’ll avoid it like plague.

        • DichaTesoro

Haha! I did not even know Shyamalan (that’s a weird spelling) did that movie. It just looked terrible. Goodness, The Last Airbender was a crime to humanity, though my brother and I got a load of laughs watching it a few months ago.

    • Zero

I went to see Now You See Me instead. It was pretty fun. Not the best Magic movie I’ve ever seen or anything, but it was fun to watch. I think it’s a bit better than what the critics have been scoring it.

I tend to like magic movies, so I was looking forward to it for a while now. They don’t make many movies like that these days, so I found it quite refreshing.

I was kind on the fence about After Earth, I’ve only heard bad things about it this weekend. It’s like Shyamalan forgot how to make good movies these last few years, which is a shame.

The problem is – His movies have still been making good profit, despite how poor they have been. Which means the trend will likely continue until they no longer make teh money. =/

      • bloodiOS

I just watched it today and yeah, man, it was a nice movie. My mind was so focused on the movie, I didn’t drink a single drop of the soda I bought and to me, that is pretty awesome. I don’t care what the critics have to say, I had a good time and that is all that matters to me, man. It was tough having to drive all the way to downtown though (it was especially crowded today), since the theater close to my place doesn’t have it (but it has After Earth, dafuq?)

        • Zero

It keeps you guessing. I won’t spoil the ending here, but I thought it was pretty awesome. I was just about to put it all together before the final few scenes. I can’t really discuss it without spoiling it lol.

          • bloodiOS

At time like this, it makes me wish that Disqus would support spoiler tags. In any case, I thought the ending was pretty darn satisfying.

            • Zero

Agreed. On both points lol. I loved the ending.

I find it a bit absurd Disqus doesn’t support spoiler tags yet. Come on already!

    • new_tradition

Awww, that sucks. I was genuinely interested in After Earth since Will Smith is in it, and I was hoping there’d be some decent relationship between the father and son characters.

Guess I’ll wait for it to hit Netflix or something >.<

      • bloodiOS

Well, to be honest, Will Smith was my reason for watching the movie as well. But the thing is, in the movie, Will Smith only sits in one place because both his legs were broken after the crash, and we get to watch Jaden Smith fumbles from one scene to next, then rinse and repeat all the way to end of the movie… a massive bore-fest I tell you (though admittedly, it was better than Da Cracked Failbender.)

  • bloodiOS

Anyone has any idea what this game is about?

    • Kobracon

….Sarcasm? If not thats Lu Bu from Dynasty Warriors 6 and above.

Edit: Oh wait, I’m an idiot. Didn’t see the vid, sry. Its Dynasty Warriors Online Z.

      • bloodiOS

        Is it any good?

        • Kobracon

I’m not sure about Z. I think its still in Jap, but DW Online has been up for a while and is hosted by Aeria games in english. If you love DW, its basically what it says on the title, its Dynasty Warriors (combat style is pre-Dynasty Warriors 6) and its online.

  • Nice Boat

The actor from classic Dante, Reuben Langdon, uploaded his motion capture work. It’s prety awesome and we also get to see Johnny Yong Bosch as Nero.

    • PrinceHeir

      awesome stuff!!!!!

  • Nice Boat

Any news about Castlevania Lord of Shadow 2? I’ve seen a trailer but no date of release.

    • Kurisu Makise

Konami conference most likely, looking forward to that myself.

      • Kobracon

lol I read Konami Conference and immediately thought of the 2010 one XD

        • Nice Boat

You mean the one full of Engrish?

          • Kobracon

            Yuu bettah berieve it!

  • Kobracon

Hmmm, with Project X Zone, MH4 and new PW on the horizon, it seems like a good time to get a 3DS. Although I’m pretty sure one of those games will have a bundle with a special 3DS. Should I wait for that or just get a cheap 3DS now?

Any recommendations from 3DS owners would be appreciated.

    • MosquitoLemon

Wait until SMTIV comes out and realize you can’t hold off any longer, hahaah. Pretty much what I’m gonna do.

      • Kobracon

Nah man PW and Project X Zone all ready has me wanting a 3DS right now XD

        • Tetsu

          PW = ?

          • Kobracon

            :Phoenix Wright

            • Tetsu

Ah ok, that should be pretty synonymous with nintendo portables now i suppose lol.

          • Kobracon

            Phoenix Wright

    • new_tradition

I guess it depends on your financial situation. No doubt a special edition 3DS will cost more than a standard one you can buy from a retailer any day of the week, but if it’s something you really want, you can try to bite the cost.

For me personally, I bought a 3DS foremost in order to play Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance. I think I bought the system less than a month from the game release. At the time, the place I bought it from was seilling it for about 179.99 before taxes, and I’m sure if I looked hard enough, I could’ve found it for 149.99 before taxes.

But the specific retailer I ended up getting it from was so I could use the rewards points I had. After using up all my points, I basically only spent about 100 bucks on the system. Couple with snagging the Mark of Mastery Edition of the KH game, I was pretty stoked (the MoME came with a 3DS case, so not a special edition 3DS, but close enough xD)

I do agree getting a 3DS worked out pretty well this year. I only have 3 games so far for it, but I’ll reach my min. 5 games that I personally use to justify a new system purchase :3

      • Kobracon

        I’m assuming thats US dollars?

  • TetsuyaHikari

Funny how they used the thumbnail for Arrested Development since the new season was finally put up on Netflix recently, but nobody has said anything about it. I’ll say something then! I started watching it when they first put it up (5/26), but I’m taking my time with it… Watching an episode a day or so.

For those of you watching the new season, what are your thoughts on it, without giving spoilers? You like it more or less than the previous seasons? At least it’s something to hold me off until the finale for Breaking Bad airs in August, followed by Season 3 of Homeland in September, then Season 4 of The Walking Dead in October.

    • new_tradition

I’ve only seen the first episode so far, but I did like it. Though I’m cringing seeing Michael is such a desperate situation >.<

I originally planned to just go one episode at a time like you are, but I've been working so much this week, and I suspect I'll be busy for the rest of the summer, so I might just marathon it over the weekend or something, lol

EDIT: And just finished plowing through the last 14 episodes in one go, whoooo. Pretty good, but I don't think I properly absorbed all of the story. Guess I'll have to watch it all over again ;D

    • DichaTesoro

Kind of sad here because I don’t have Netflix…DVD someday, maybe? I started watching the show when it originally aired and was sad when it was canceled.
Oh, but I’m waiting around for Breaking Bad too and Dexter…they’re both ending which is kind of good and sucky at the same time.

    • Sal Romano

I said I would do the same (take my time with it), but ended up finishing it by Wednesday. I enjoyed it! Lot of great moments, and it’s amazing how they were able to get back not only the entire cast, but even most (if not all?) of the show’s smaller characters (like Gene Parmesan, “Ahhhhhhhh! Gene!”).

I hope they continue through with a season 5. I know they said they weren’t planning one in the beginning, but more recent comments show that it’s something Netflix is interested in doing. I just hope this time, the cast could take it on as a full-time project rather than part-time like they did with season 4.

      • TetsuyaHikari

Let’s just hope it doesn’t take another 7 years to make it happen, haha.

  • MosquitoLemon

I’m playing the original Sengoku Basara for the first time via the HD collection and man, do I love trashing hundreds upon thousands of little scrubs. While it’s not as polished as the second, it still holds up. Don’t know whether to go onto 2 after finishing it or try out 3, which I’ve never played.

edit- also for what it’s worth, I played some EX Troopers. Does anyone still play it? It’s an OK game, but I wonder if there is still an online scene.

    • TetsuyaHikari

E.X. Troopers is actually a rather entertaining game, but even when the game first released, the online scene was pretty much dead before it even began. Then again… It did only sell a little over 20,000 copies in the first week, and that’s combining the 3DS sales with the PS3 sales. Needless to say, it bombed really bad, unfortunately…

I’d suggest trying to find someone to play with on the Gamefaqs board for the game. Maybe there are still some people that play, or would be willing to anyway. I haven’t seen an online scene for a game die so fast since I bought Dream Club Mahjong (and that barely sold over 10,000 copies).

      • MosquitoLemon

Hahahah oh man, I had about 100 bucks left and had a copy of Dream Club Mahjong in one hand and EX Troopers in the other. I play enough mahjong in real life that I could make the decision to put Dream Club down and take EX Troopers instead, but yeah, no online scene for a game that touts some good online.

    • Kobracon

Oh you are in for a treat, my friend. I would definitely say go play 2 first and then 3, coz once you move to 3, it is VERY hard to move back to the first 2 games.

So far who’s you fave character btw? Mine’s been Masamune since the very first time I saw him and Nobunaga is a very close second (mostly due to the godly Norio Wakamoto)

      • MosquitoLemon

Toyotomi hands down, he was the first character I used in SB2, and I logged like 30 hours with him even after finishing the game with every other character. I was actually pretty pissed to find out he’s not in SB3 – not even in Utage!! His special attacks are so crazy, you can just whip enemies around for days and rack up huge basara combos.

Shingen is so much badass though, easily my 2nd fav, I’m using him in SB1 right now, and he was the second to last character I unlocked in SB2 (when I played on PS2).

I heard it was hard to go back to SB2 from 3 because you can actually use all your skills rather than just equipping 2. Are there any other reasons?

        • Kobracon

Nah its mostly just the gameplay. Coz its not just the ability to use all your skills, its also how they combo off each other. Theres new things to find with each character and how their moves work. In SB3 its like they become a deep fighting game with dodge cancels and skill cancels or skills that naturally flow from one to the other.

Like Shingen in Utage for example, all his moves are slow as heck but there are 4 moves that can be chained together resulting in much faster attack and more (and better looking) damage. And if you did it right, you enter a state called Fu Rin Ka Zan mode where all his skills are upgraded.

The only reason one would want to play SB1 or 2 again is to play with the characters that you dearly miss from SB3, like Nagamasa Azai or old Oichi

          • MosquitoLemon

that sounds really awesome, I always read people didn’t like SB3 that much, but clearly it’s more internet lies

            • Kobracon

They were prolly butthurt over the missing characters. I miss some of them too, but seeing how much time and effort was put into each character, I really can’t blame them.

  • Panda

Shenmue HD collection to be announce at E3? Corey Marshall who voices Ryo Hazuki from Shenmue posted these 2 pics couple a days a go.

    • Azuardo

I’ve heard rumours very recently that Ryo could actually appear in Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate. This would please me massively, as I got seriously addicted to DOA5 a couple of months ago! So whether Corey is recording lines for DOA5U or indeed Shenmue 1+2HD or Shenmue 3, I will be happy whatever happens. Obviously I would rather Shenmue 3 than any of these but I just hope it is Ryo-related, whatever it is!

  • new_tradition

I think I’m developing a case of gamer entitlement :/

(Caution: Type-0 rant below. Turn back while you still can, lol)

I know it’s a sore subject to mention over and over, but I’m still super bummed Final Fantasy Type-0 didn’t come out in English in some capacity.

As a mobile title and going by the former name “Agito”, I didn’t give it much thought. At the time, it pretty much felt like mobile = Japan only, and I even accepted it. The little shown didn’t whoa me much at the time either.

Then it got moved to the PSP.

Holy moly, did my interest ramp up by crazy levels. The subsequent reveal of what they showed then on top of the platform change left me stunned.

(I definitely concede Nintendo dominates the handheld market, but Sony really gave a decent effort with the PSP. Some of my all time fave games are PSP games, and while there’s is (was?) a running joke about the PSP being portable, it gave me opportunities to play older games like Persona and what not.)

I was honestly more interested in Type-0 than Versus for a long time. I looked at all news and magazine scans I could find, though tried super hard to avoid spoilers. I guess I should be proud that even to this day, I only know a handful of tidbits about this game >_>

And that then starts to form a sort of bitterness. I never doubted the game would be out in English at the time, and the minor mention in the Ultimania guide about working on the localization felt like vindication to me.

    And then…nothing.

I don’t know if SE NA/EU ever commented on the situation with Type-0, but the general verdict seems to be that as a game coming out at the end of the PSP life cycle in the west, it wasn’t worth selling. I assume there were piracy concerns somewhere in there too, but allegedly the game was perceived not to sell as much as they would like.

(Aside: what is up with the messed up sale expectations SE and even other gaming companies seem to have the last few years? They make good games no doubt, but some projections are just so skewed, it honestly feels like the strategy is to draw in new gamers, but as a result, they alienate the older ones sometimes :/)

My original point to this wall of text was my sense of entitlement. What I mean is that I rationally understand financial concerns about the releasing a game for a system many people aren’t playing, or even stopped playing.

    But then I think…”so what?”

SE surely must be making profits on other titles. Haters can hate the FFXIII games all they want, but they still sell. FFXI can be ignored as a main FF game by purists (I certainly ignored it), but it’s the FF game that made SE the most money. Annoying “spin-off” KH games still sell and are relevant to the overarching story (note: I love Kingdom Hearts ♥). Acquiring Eidos may not have done much for the fans of the Japanese games (I have no interest in the Hitman games), but they still do well enough (barring the whole skewed sales projections).

Even if Type-0 didn’t sell as much as they would hope, it’s not like it’s going to be the final nail in the coffin, right?

Random: I’m desperately hoping sales of the HD collections coming out in 2013 are going to finance localization of other games (the recently trademarked FF Agito reported on is a curious thing). I’m not denying there was decent work on KH 1.5 ReMIX and FFX/X-2 HD, but it couldn’t have been as hard as creating the original games, I think.

To further my delusions, Nintendo publishing Bravely Default instead of SE could also mean there were too many projects SE was working on to push out that game. I imagine FFXIV is a large endeavour, but the fickle hope just keeps nudging me every now and then…

    • MosquitoLemon

There could have been a time (shortly after Dissidia 012’s release) where they were just like, “PSP is dead in NA, no more PSP releases for NA whatsoever.” and that was that. There are some companies that simply won’t take a risk, despite having the resources (and then there are companies that take risks all the time, despite not having the resources – Atlus for example)

      • PrinceHeir

i read online that the english translation and voice acting was finished.

but since the PSP market shrunk in 2012(last major release was Persona 2 EP(still pissed we only got the PS1 version and not the PSP version with added scenario and remix themes) and Growlanser: Wayfarer of Time

they halt it and are waiting for the right time to localize it.

that’s why some of the fan translation group drop the series, because they knew it was gonna be translated(should have finished it tbh)

        • MosquitoLemon

OMG don’t remind me about not getting EP for PSP.

And honestly I don’t think fan translation groups dropped it for that reason, fan translation groups just get bored and busy and look for excuses to stop working on it. Believe me, I know because I’ve been a part of a lot of them. We had a project that was at 98% and when we all got busy it was just like, “well, never gonna finish this…”

          • PrinceHeir

yeah that still pisses me off to this day.

no offense to atlus US, but that was one of the most bullshit decisions they have ever made these generation along with region lock P4 arena(and yes i do know it’s more of Atlius JPN decision)

            wow is that so?

i think fan translation groups should have definitely have a timeline to finish it or even kinda of a “saved” plan.

it’s kinda like what i did with Castlevania Dawn of sorrow.

i stop playing this game around april since i was getting busy with school work, but i was also playing console games like Deadly Premonition, Metal Gear Rising, Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor’s Edge.

i could have finished this during the month of april since this is not really a long game unless you want to level up to 99.

the good thing is that i save to a point that i can go back to and still remember what i need to do.

the point is that if your gonna leave a work behind, try to save it to a point where you can easily finish it the next time you get back to it

then again 98% is already past that limit and you only need few more work to get it done.

im curious how you didn’t manage to finish?

did the main translator or head didn’t come back or something?

            • MosquitoLemon

Well honestly I see no problem with Atlus’s region locking of a game that came out in the same week… especially since they are a small company and would be crushed by reverse importation if they had allowed it.

We keep a spreadsheet with the entire translation, there’s a column for unedited text, edited text, and the text that is formatted (then the hackers have tools that will insert the text into the actual game). We had two translators, me and one other guy, and basically he got really busy with school and I got really busy with work. So we were both like, ‘who gives a damn’, and dropped it. We don’t owe anyone shit, so that’s that. Timelines are nonsense because this is a free service we are doing for fun. When it stops being fun, or something more important gets in the way, it’s the first thing that gets dropped.

              • PrinceHeir

ehh still i really doubt it would crush their sales.

alot of people are already plan on buying Persona 4 Arena. they just want to make an excuse to justify Persona 4 Arena in japan(i believe that game was around $90? normal edition)

ehh i still think timelines are good to keep track of things. and yeah the more you push out the project, the more likely you won’t be able to finish it.

and yes translators don’t really owe anyone, they just do it because they like to.

                • MosquitoLemon

No, it would definitely have hurt them, they aren’t making excuses or justifying anything. They are getting funds to make more games, like they always have. We are lucky we got our game nearly the same time as Japan, so it really shouldn’t bother you.

                  • PrinceHeir

                    eh i don’t know

i just don’t like region locking.

but as long as it’s dual audio and same release date, it’s not that bad.

      • Elvick

Except they lazily pushed FFIII out on PSP everywhere last year.

        • MosquitoLemon

I thought that was a straight port, like the JP version already had the English text embedded in it.

    • Zero

You can find some details about the localization of the game. Including details and a fan petition from operation suzaku.

(You might have already seen those.)

I still think they could have finished it and released it on PSN at the very least. I’m not sure if it’s some kind of licensing problem or something, but, for some reason, SE has yet to release some of their most popular PSP tiles on PSN.

Which is a huge mistake. They could make more profit off of these titles over time this way.

In the end, there is still some hope the game will be released in the west. You mentioned some of the more recent things, like the possibility of an HD remaster, etc.

Some group started working on a fan translation.

My feelings on the game are similar. I’ve been interested in it since they decided switched it from mobile platforms to the PSP.

I’ve heard good things about the game, I’ve heard bad things about the game. Most of the bad things seem to be focused on the adhoc multiplayer features. I’m not really bothered by that, since I’ll likely play it as a single player game.

Either way, I want to support the game. They just need to give me a reason to buy it. ^^

      • Kurisu Makise

The two big titles from SE not on PSN are Birth By Sleep and Crisis Core. Those two won’t go digital due to licensing issues. Meanwhile, I suspect for the last title Valkyrie Profile Lenneth; it could be similar to Megaman Powered Up where it fails the submission Test or Square Enix simply has no interest in submitting a copy for PSN.

As for Type-0? Something, something brand…something, something money… It’s a game where it’s high profile enough that it shouldn’t be PSN Only but no way would they release a UMD. So they’ll just keep it in limbo until it gets re-released on a different platform.

  • PrinceHeir

so yeah graduation just ended and wow what a waste of time.

seriously not only did we start late, but the line was soo long(alot of people were graduating) not to mention it was hot as hell and not even the tent could save me from the damn heat.

the speeches ohh wow i don’t know where to begin.

basically it took around three and half hours to finish before they even gave us the diplomas.

and wow some of the speakers are soo long.

like these woman is saying all of her achievements throughout the years.

i mean she basically list around 10-15 achievements and it took 30 minutes, and that’s just one speaker.

i understand that you did a lot to get to this point, but do you really need to list all of them? why not just three and be done with it?

though there were some funny moments like the surgent general ripped of his speech he had worked on last night and just said congratulations to everyone since he knows how hot as hell that morning is.

i wish all of the speakers just ripped out their speech letters and be done with it.

at least i saw two megane cool girls :)

one is holding the camera and filming the event(probably part of student government)

she’s cute with that big eye glasses of hers, and the other is a graduate behind me.

same thing, love the glasses but eh never met her and only saw here for the first time in school(despite coming to that school for more than 2 years now)

oh well i’ll probably never see them so it’s fine either way.

and ugh so tired, but at least it’s finally done.

just need to fix my course for next fall in my senior college and we’re good to go.

    btw any plans this summer?

just play games? im going to the gym and do some work out ^^

it was boring as hell and really a waste of time, but at least the two megane girls are there ^^

    • z_merquise

      So you graduated? Congrats, man!

      • PrinceHeir

but another 2 more years for bachelors

Whoa. Just woke up from a weird dream where FF Versus XIII was revealed. Can’t remember it all properly, but the game ended up being called Lightning Returns: FF Versus XIII or something… and it had Lightning in it, wearing an odd metal mask that covered her whole face, but her pink hair was clearly visible. It turned out the game was split into two separate ones, with the end of the trailer showing two titles, with the second logo called Lightning Returns 2: FF Versus XIII (the subtitle wasn’t as clear but it was FF something lol). Then a secret trailer played after this with what I think was Lightning, Tidus and Cloud talking and facing off against each other in a possible Dissidia-like console game. This was shown at a conference somewhere, and afterwards I could walk around the tables looking to buy merchandise and look at artwork. Man, it was weird as hell.

Uh, man, not quite as on top of gaming progress in recent weeks, but managed to complete Spec Ops: The Line and Deus Ex: HR. Quite enjoyed the story of Spec Ops, and loved the gameplay in Deus Ex: HR. I never played the original Deus Ex, so I can’t see why people hated this game, but the stealth was awesome. Made me realise I miss playing Metal Gear Solid and that I need MGS5!

Games I need to finish: Terraria, Sly 3, House of the Dead Overkill,
Enslaved, Banjo Tooie, Agarest 2, Rune Factory Oceans, Assassin’s Creed

I’ve actually been making Let’s Plays of some of my mates’ original games made in Multimedia Fusion. Many are very old, scruffy, terrible games from many, many years ago, but it’s been a right laugh running through them for the lulz and making a video of my experience. Except the vids are not family friendly due to all the swearing and raging, so I won’t post them here lol. And there’s a lot of British slang no one here probably understands hah. It’s really for my mates’ pleasure to watch me play their games, but if you aren’t easily offended by bad language then feel free to ask to see them for yourself n_n

  • xMCXx

So, I recently watched Evangelion 3.33….
    What the actual fuck?
I also started to play The Old Republic, since a friend started it.
Kinda shitty how you can’t do shit basically if you use the Free 2 Play model.

    • Nice Boat

“What the actual fuck?” should be the movie’s actual title. It’s like if Gainax liked the ending of Final Fantasy 13-2 and thought such twist of “you ruined everything” was suitable for one of their movies. This video summarizes the movie pretty well. SPOILERS

      • xMCXx

        Yup. xD
It’s kinda sad how 2.22’s ending was fucking awesome and 3.33 turns the Emo switch on.

        • Martian Wong

Did you watch the original The end of Evangelion, it helped me to understand 3.0 better. Hideaki Anno also invited us to his world and the theme of depression though Evangelion 3.0…

          • xMCXx

No, I don’t really want to watch EoE. xD
Though, I know what happens in it.

            • Martian Wong

              Why not?

              • xMCXx

                Not in the mood.

    • Martian Wong

In my opinion, Evangelion 3.0 is a masterpiece.

      • xMCXx

        Really? Explain.^^

        • Martian Wong

I understand that it changed a lot from 2.0 where 2.0 is full of actions+good music+ and one touching ending. It feel likes everything from 2.0 is thrown away. However, 3.0 itself got a new direction, rather than focus on the action, it focused on the emotion part of Shinji. He lost everything. He tried so hard to save the girl(Ayanami Rei) but she is no where to be found. That cost Shinji to be confused and live in a world that no one accept him. In 2.0 he wanted to be accepted, Therefore he broad on the Eva 01. But in 3.0 no one want acknowledge him. That caused him to have a meltdown. And for Ayanami Rei, she tried so hard to be a girl that cares for others. But it was undone by the Rei Clone. Rei Clone has no recollection of memories from Rei. No emotion and just waiting for demand: a doll. Just like Asuka called Rei in the elevator scene. I am not sure if you watched the End of Evangelion, the song Komm, susser Tod. “Cant live without the trust those you love” Shinji is that kind of state at 3.0. Why it say it is a masterpiece because Hideaki Anno captured the emotion of Shinji and Misato very well. If you have any further question, please do ask me.

          • xMCXx

            Yeah, I understand that.
But I thought Rebuild’s going to be more positive.
But, well, it’s Gainax, the Master Trolls. : p

            • Martian Wong

I agree that it is suppose to be more accessible to the general audience. But Evangelion is Evangelion, cant derail too much…

              • xMCXx

After Shinji hulked out at the end of 2.22 I was expecting this to continue.
Well, I’m still looking forward to Final.

                • Martian Wong

Me too, I am so excited and sad at the same time that 4 is coming..I guess Evangelion will be done after 4.0.

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owltron

This is the first time that I comment here and I wanted to say something:
The site is great, I have been reading the site since Andriasang closed down almost 1 year ago (never commented on that page but I would liked to have done that) and I think that this site is as great as Andriasang. You post good news and give a lot of information. It’s great to read a page like this.

okay i just saw Sonic the lost world and was awe at the game O______O

i haven’t played a Sonic game since the megadrive days(the one with the casino style level forgot which one)

so im looking to go back and play the series i haven’t catch up to.

so any games i should go first?

im thinking of Sonic Adventure series in preparation for Lost World(and when i get a Wii U)

plus the music in Adventure is awesome(any more of this?)

i have a PS3 so most of the Sonic games on PSN i can get.

even digital is fine by me.

so any more 3D games i should play?

    is Generations good?

and about the 2D ones, where do i start?

thanks and really appreciate the help :)

    • Azuardo

I’m a big Sonic fan, but if you want my honest opinion, the Sonic Adventure games are terrible compared to today’s standards. At the time, 10 years ago, they were good, and SA2 was great, but these days… they control horribly and the voice acting is atrocious. However, they could still be worth playing if you can ignore the big faults. The Sonic levels are the best, and yes, the music is awesome, but otherwise, they really show their age now.

I would say play the Mega Drive ones to begin with, because they all still hold up as awesome. Play Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 + Knuckles. Get Sonic CD on PSN. Then if you really want to chance them, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2. I would skip Sonic Heroes, Sonic 2006, and maybe Sonic Unleashed. Play Sonic Colours on Wii. And hell yes, get Sonic Generations! The 2D levels in that game are some of the most fun I’ve had in Sonic for years. As for Sonic 4: Episodes I + II….well, I would say go for these after you’ve done the Mega Drive games. They are still decent games, but should not have been called “Sonic 4.”

      • PrinceHeir

oh i see, but will still try adventure games because they look fun as hell ^^

Sonic 1 and 2 are classics indeed!!

Sonic CD some say it is the best :D

Sonic 3 + Knuckles, i actually saw knuckles and remember playing it when for the first time they used a red character(didn’t know his name at that time)

so yes have fond memories of him!!

though Sonic 3 + Knuckles isn’t on PSN, are the game on Wii also? though i don’t wanna buy digital games on Wii(would rather save it on Wii U)

i notice Sonic Heroes/Sonic 2006/Sonic Unleashed have a lot of bad rep(well not sure about Heroes) so i’ll kindly skip those and get to the 2D games and generations and colours first.

yeah heard Sonic 4 games have a lot of problem in terms of physics and speed(they seem to have fix these in episode II)

isn’t this gonna be a trilogy or even up to episode 6?

i would also like to add Sonic Rush games on the DS, reminds me of the olders games and i have a 3DS so im good to go!

any more games im missing is that all there is to play for a sonic fan? :D

        • Azuardo

By all means play the Adventure games :) Just don’t be expecting brilliant things from them because they definitely aren’t as good as they seemed all that time ago. Heroes I haven’t bothered with, but if you could find it cheap then it might be worth it. But spending the PSN price I wouldn’t do.

Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles are available separately on Wii VC, but I don’t think you can connect them as they are really supposed to be played. If you aren’t against emulators then I would say play Sonic 3 & Knuckles on emulator.

I also forgot about the 3 Sonic Advance games, which I would still recommend after playing the Mega Drive ones. Again, emulator may be the way to go, here.

Episode II wasn’t really fixed much. Some stuff was altered, but it’s still not how Sonic 4 should have been. But they are cheap enough to warrant a purchase, and they’re still good enough to play, after all. No more episodes are planned. When asked about an Episode III, they just say they don’t have plans for one. It’d still be nice to get one with Knuckles in it, but I doubt it.

Sonic Rush games aren’t as good as the classics, either. Too many pits that come out of nowhere to kill the speed and take off lives. Again, if you can get them for good prices, they’re still worth playing.

I’m pretty sure that’s about it, though. There’s other stuff like Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Chronicles, Sonic Battle, Sonic the Fighters, Sonic Spinball, Sonic 3D, etc… But you should probably only look into them after getting all of your priority ones out of the way first. They mostly aren’t worth looking into at all.

Hope this has helped somewhat, and good luck getting to play them! And enjoy them!

          • PrinceHeir

            thanks for the great recommendations.

such a shame Sonic 3 and Knuckles are not available on PSN yet :(

and no more Sonic 4? guess they cancelled the future episodes huh?

yeah i saw gameplay of Rush, and you get stop alot due hazards and pitfalls

yeah i think im good with these, just Adventure and Generations seems enough for me XD

            thanks again for the help!!

            • Azuardo

Yeah, it is a shame about Sonic 3&K on PSN. There is the new improved Sonic 1 and 2 games for iOS, which should hopefully come to PSN eventually. These are like the upgrade of Sonic CD on PSN, which is awesome. So hopefully they will come to PSN too, and maybe they will upgrade Sonic 3&K after that. We shall see.

I definitely never heard anything about doing more than three episodes. Maybe only years ago before the first game came out they may have suggested that, but I guess the reception to them made them think they should take it one game at a time. I think 3 episodes would be the maximum they would do, since it would be the same as Sonic 1-3. Ep 1 is just Sonic, like Sonic 1; Ep 2 is Sonic + Tails, like Sonic 2. You would imagine an Ep 3 would be Sonic, Tails and Knux, like in Sonic3&K. But hey, we will just have to see about the future of that, too!

              • PrinceHeir

oh i did not know they made another improved version of Sonic 1 and 2.

to be is on IOS will pass.

yeah hopefully 3 and Knuckles are next!!!!

and yes the reception of Sonic 4 was really bad.

guess people’s expectation were so high, especially for a official numbered entry.

hopefully Lost World’s will continue the rise of Sonic(Generation and Colors started to make a comeback)

  • Willgaea

Anyone own a Ouya? My wife wants one. Haven’t really heard anything good about it.

    • Sal Romano

I have one. It’s got some fun, smaller games on it. Why does she want one, if I might ask? Also, if you’d like to check out what’s currently available on the system (I believe it’s still before launch, anyhow), there’s a list of all the games + apps (w/ screenshots and all) on the Ouya marketplace here:

  • LordKaiser

The PS4 hard drive is built in? What kind of stupidity this is!!!!!!

    • AdamBoy64

Ah wow. Really? When was that announced / unveiled?
      That’s not good.

    • Zero

Built in is sorta vague. One could say the PS3 has a built in hard drive too. It’s shipped with the system and inside the system. Obviously, you can still remove and swap the PS3 HDD.

I figure the PS4 will be the same. I don’t see them switching from the laptop drives the PS3 uses, unless they decide to release an SSD model PS4. You could still swap out the SSD too.

      • LordKaiser

I hope that’s the case and not a static drive that you can’t remove. I hope it comes with a SATA 6.GBs so if someone wants to place a solid state drive they can.

        • Zero

          I hope so too.

  • DanijoEX ♬ the Cosmic Owltron

Man, I think I’m going to hit the haystacks.

I was listening to this awesome music and it made me almost asleep. It kinda sounds surreal. It’s called “Astronaimeya”.

Heh…I don’t know why I come across these kinds of music when it comes to Vocaloid. I guess it’s a habit of mine. I like it that way. Anyways, enjoy:

I wanted to share this FFXIV Video.

It’s a few days old, but I’m not sure if everyone got to see it or not.

I just got some terrible news involving my E3 experience. My Electric company is Brown outing Sections of the Antelope Valley. We have been having forest and flash fires for the past 4 days now. I just got word that my electricity is going to taken of the grid from June 13 6am- June 14th 5pm. So I’m going to miss a day of live coverage. It sucks, but I’m not worried because I know when I get back on I can count on the Gematsu team to fill me in. Thanks before hand!

When the time comes I’m going to have to…

    • Zero

      That really sucks. =(

I hope you find something fun to do while the power is done. I’ve been without power before, it sucks.

      • Willgaea

We are going to have a all day bar b que. We also bought 1000 water ballons and we got super soakers. It’s going to be the 90s all over again.

        • Zero

          Sounds like fun. =)

Hey, does anyone here have any idea of what’s going on with “Project Discovery” on PS VITA? There’s a new-ish video, but I have no idea what’s going on,

It seems like such a cool thing, but not to many outlets are talking about it I guess?

  • PrinceHeir

for some reason i can’t stop looking at this

maybe it’s the face or eyes? who knows

the art style is really really excellent and the girl looks soo cuute and lovely ^^

Sooo 4 days for the E3?

Just DLed the demo of Project X Zone for the 3DS from the Nintendo eShop. It has “Demo A” in the logo, so I guess there’s probably another demo on it’s way? But you better make the most of it. It only has 5 uses :O

    • PrinceHeir

      gonna do that now!
