CI Games have officially announced Lords of the Fallen, first teased over the past year through interviews, for next generation consoles and PC, coming in 2014.
The “hardcore” and “strategic third-person action RPG” is being led by Tomasz Gop, the former senior producer of The Witcher 2. It promises an “advanced combat system” and “robust class skill trees.”
Story-wise, the game is set in a fantasy world where the gods have failed mankind, players will take on the role of a human named Harkyn, who sets out on a quest to stand against a supposedly unstoppable supernatural force. In doing so, players will make decisions that will alter both the game world and their character, thus “dramatically” impacting the story.
A playable version of Lords of the Fallen will be presented live at E3 in Los Angeles month. Visit the game’s official Facebook page here.
