    Pre-order artbook? September? Yes!

  • Elvick

Hopefully EB Games gets the preorder bonus, or any retailer in Canada.

  • sherimae1324

nice, more games is good ^_^

  • Nhiroz

Looking forward to this :) Only want to play Final Mix! Would prefer KH1 and KH2 on one disc instead though :P

  • Pyrofrost

I have these games already. If this were on Vita, I would be all over it. I’m not big on buying console to console ports so close though, these games just came out last gen.

I will admit though, if this were KH1FM, KH2FM, and KH:BBSFM…I would have bit.

Not bad. September is looking packed though :P

    Yay $79 for me :(

  • DarthBrian

    Can’t wait! ^_^

And an amazing deal too. That’s three games (well two games and one movie version of a game), each with their own set of trophies (two platinums), includes a limited-edition artbook, all for $39.99(retail)! You might even say this is a PREMIUM package! And it’s on a console and it doesn’t cost $60 or even $50. Only $40! Wow! What an incredible value!!! ^_^

    • Pyrofrost

I see what you did there >_>

Not to rain on your parade, but let’s not forget the fact that you’re talking about a couple of pretty old games here (one of which is a port of a port). Also, what Standard Edition HD Collection have you come across that costs more than 40 USD retail. Trophy sets and platinums for each game are also standard for most HD collections. It’s not like a little free concept/character design artbook for first-run copies is anything new either.

Couple corrections, actually one of them is an hd upgrade of a remake, not a port. Second the MGS HD Collection debuted at 50 for the HD collection and 80 for the limited edition with the art book. And lastly there are no such thing as “standard trophies” for any game, let alone specifically HD remasters, trophies match what the developers want to put in, not on the basis of it being an HD release.

On topic though, can’t wait for this! I think this is the first time artwork like this has been officially released in any form. So even if its small like the FFXIII-2 one, ill be glad to have it.

        • Pyrofrost

About the trophies…I didn’t mean it as “standard trophies.” Trophies are a standard for all games now (including HD collections); in context, “standard” is meaning that it’s something to be expected, not some bonus or an extra. They have been mandatory since 2009.
Though for PSP to PS3 remasters, like the Kiseki games, this is not enforced.

I didn’t recall the MGS HD Collection being over 50USD though, thanks for the reminder. With a 5 game collection that’s not unreasonable.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on this collection. What I said in the post before was more tongue-in-cheek because of the reference made by the OP.

          • Anime10121

Oh its all good bro/sis! Just putting the information out there :P

            • Pyrofrost

No probs man. I bought the MGS HD collection too. I just didn’t recall that stuff, it’s all good man :3

  • Ritsujun

    Hell yeahhhhh.

  • Budgiecat

    Versus XIII please

  • Nice Boat

Wonder what will they do with the audio. Final Mix has voiced scenes that were never translated to English.

    • Pyrofrost

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix was released with English voices in Japan, both on PS2 and in this collection. So I’d imagine that they will just use that voice track.

Actually the original Final Mix versions didn’t have voice audio for the new scenes that were added to the game. But to answer Freesun4’s original question, they actually brought all of the VA’s in and recorded new audio for the unvoiced scenes. It’s how we knew the game was getting localized early, the VA who plays Roxas (Jesse Mccartney) spilled the beans on twitter. It was reported on this very site!

          Thanks for the info.

I’m planning to get it on day one anyways… And adding in an artbook is just more icing on the cake… Square Enix, you actually deserves my money this time…

  • Awnye

Whoa, a week before GTAV? At least it’s my birthday month, I’ll have an excuse to splurge on myself.

    • Pyrofrost

      Enjoy yourself Haruka-chan~ :3

I just preordered! =) I’m looking forward to playing these games again!

  • new_tradition

Amazon Canada doesn’t have the preorder bonus listed yet, but on top of that, a proper listing for the game doesn’t exist either. It says sold out of all things, and had the Japanese release date, lol.

Guess I’ll have to trust gamestop and hope they give me a KH preorder bonus at long last.

    • new_tradition

And put down my 5 dollar deposit at gamestop. Just 3.5 months until 1.5 =D

    • Elvick

Amazon.ca is terrible, that’s why. I use ebgames.ca instead. I get free shipping, it ships the day before launch (instead of being delayed for weeks like amazon.ca always does for me on preorders) and I get it the next day (launch day).

Much better. Plus, EB almost always gets preorder things while amazon.ca usually doesn’t.

I may not like the used side of EB games or the stores themselves (selling open copies as new… pfft.) but using them online for preorders is great.

And it’s up on ebgames now.

      • new_tradition

Do you know what mailing service they use? I live in a condo, so anything but Canada Post ends up being a bit of a hassle.

        • Elvick

Purolator. Which is a bit of a bummer. Luckily I’m home all the time (lulz), but it’s still a hassle since if you miss it you have to go it yourself. And you have to wait for the next day for that.

          • new_tradition

Ack, that sucks. Thanks for the info though!

  • PrinceHeir

man they should keep the japanese va, why the hell did they took it out?

Japan has both english and japanese, why not same with others?

i’ll wait for the asian version, since they keep the same content as the japanese.

still have this on pre order on amazon just in case :P

Limited run art book? Pre-ordered, nice hook.

  • artemisthemp

Pre order this ad Shopto.net, so happy they get it :)

  • Gilgamesh2025

Hmm … I think I’m gonna buy a used copy of this for a more favorable price someday as I’m only interested in playing Re: Chain of Memories.
