Xbox event to host next-gen Call of Duty reveal.

Activision has confirmed Call of Duty: Ghosts, the next entry in its top-selling shooter franchise, for a November 5 release across PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is also in development for “next generation consoles.”

Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise,” said Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg.

Modern Warfare developers Infinity Ward are at the helm. According to executive producer Mark Rubin, the console transition served as the “perfect opportunity” to build a new sub-brand and engine for the franchise.

A teaser trailer, dubbed “Masked Warriors,” was released today, but a full reveal is scheduled for May 21 during the next-gen Xbox press conference.

“We are consistently thrilled with the overwhelming response received from critics and consumers alike to the Call of Duty series, which has firmly established its home on the Xbox 360 with the game’s largest and most engaged community,” said Microsoft interactive entertainment president Don Mattrick.

Visit the game’s official Facebook page here. Additionally, pre-orders have gone live at retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop.

Haters gonna hate but this will be another blockbuster

True dat, I hate CoD with a passion (but then again, I generally hate all FPS’ except for the original Halo), but regardless of my hate, you are correct in saying this is a future blockbuster. It’ll sell regardless of mine or anyone else’s hate for the series. So uh, yeah, long live CoD? I guess!?

  • Skeletor

Ahh yes. More typical MS smoke and mirrors. They have no exclusives but will make sure everyone thinks the best and only way to play the new CoD is on their platform.

Skeletor is not fooled. I swear on the sorceresses left butt cheek that Skeletor shant be fooled by the fools at MS.

    • DarthNemesis

LOL You and He-Man both agree. MS is trash.

  • DarthNemesis

Another blockbuster but mediocre like the rest of the series and it ain’t hating to state that fact.

i still can´t belive it, that Call of Duty Ghost cums withe a new engine. Looking forward to Microsofts press conference. Be excited lol

I suppose this is the real reason they delayed the next box conference? Once again, MS could have come out and explained as much.

    • Solomon_Kano

I suppose but, to be fair, they never announced it before delaying it so why would they explain that? As far as we knew, officially, there was no conference.

I find it hilarious that they (may have) delayed it for a game that’s been the heart of their E3 press conferences for the last forever and a half anyway, though. Like we wouldn’t have known it’s coming to Xbox without this lol. I hope they’ve got more to show for May 21st than a game we all knew was coming.

  • MrRobbyM

They actually had me fooled. I thought this was an exclusive for a second.

  • Solomon_Kano

I won’t lie, I’ve always liked these little live-action bits they put together to promote COD.

Past that, lol @ this being part of MS’ conference. C’mon son! We all know the game’s coming to Xbox with some early-bird bullshit. Save that for E3 and show us something new on the 21st!

  • Prodigy-X

If there really is a new engine then I will buy it plus it will have Ghost from MW2 in it.

  • 武神水樹

This is going to be at MS’s conference for sure with exclusive money bought DLC
