From this weekend's Nico Nico Super Conference.

Over 9 minutes of (unfortunately blurry) God Eater 2 footage has come out of this weekend’s Nico Nico Super Conference.

It offers a look at various different types of weaponry, like the Boost Hammer and Charge Spear.

Watch the video below.

  • Andrew Arndt

    soooooooooo goood looking

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

      Theoretically. xD

The video itself looks like MissingNo.

    • Mar Mar

Looks PS3 graphics quality to me. Look at the burning buildings!

      • AdachiTohru

That’s really incredible, i didnt think vita was so much powerful

      • Sevyne

How can you tell? The actual video quality is horrid. I can tell it looks better than the first game, but the video isn’t clear enough to do it justice.

  • Duc PC-QB

There will be another live stream in 27, hope we can get the vid as well.

      Same here, I can’t wait. :D

I’m curious how import friendly this would be, considering God Eater is supposed to be pretty story heavy.

      • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Just because a game is “story heavy” doesn’t mean the gameplay itself is hard to navigate through. It’s a Monster Hunter clone. God Eater was rather import friendly.

The quests were straightforward and there was no problem equipping new items and whatnot since everything was self-explanatory. There are games such as Ryu ga Gotoku which are waaaaaaaaaaaay more story heavy than God Eater ever could be, but still easy to play through due to navigators on the map, telling you where your next destination is to advance in the main story (there are very few exceptions when a mark isn’t placed on the map, but it doesn’t take long for something to happen anyway to push you forward regardless).

So yeah, don’t let that intimidate you from making a purchase if you like the looks of the gameplay.

        • Ni ~Algidus~

well when you need to bring the items to sakaki the game can be really boring especially if you don’t know japanese

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

…That’s like one instance out of HOW many? Plus, those items were in Katakana anyway, iirc. It’s been forever and a day since I’ve played God Eater Burst, but I’m pretty sure they were fairly simple to figure out anyway. It’s not like you were dealing with Kanji, which is waaaaaaay more difficult to figure out, knowing Japanese or not.

Besides, for a minor situation such as this, I’m sure you could find a guide/wiki to help you. What you’re complaining about is like, I don’t know… Someone complaining about not being able to read the menus in a hack and slash title, where language isn’t all that important. Sure, it may be nice to understand it, but after some trial and error or doing a quick search online, you’ll have an answer one way or another before long anyway. It won’t deter you from enjoying the game though.

            • Ni ~Algidus~

I’m not complaining. I’m just saying that the game have a situation that could stuck players who don’t know japanese. If point out a situation like that is complaining for you I don’t know what you would think when people >really< complain about something

              • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Ah. My mistake then. It seemed like you were complaining. If only there was a way to convey our tone through text!

Anyway, I’m pretty sure I know what situation you’re talking about in God Eater, but I have to be honest… If you’re having problems with that (not talking about you specifically, just generally speaking here), then I’d say you have even bigger problems you should be worrying about, lol. My Japanese knowledge isn’t the best by any means, but the only time I have to struggle with some stuff is when they randomly throw in like all kinds of Kanji which is totally impractical (i.e. using Kanji for ‘save’ and ‘load’ or ‘sound’ and ‘voice’. That’s totally unnecessary). Katakana and Hiragana is EASY MODO by comparison, even with little to no knowledge whatsoever though because the characters are easier to remember than those that require 15+ strokes to create.

        • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Thanks for that, that’s obviously the most important thing. If I can enjoy the hunting action and get through the quests within reason, then we’re good. It also helps if a lot of the text is voiced since I can better understand what’s being said orally versus my embarrassingly low character knowledge.

          • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Haha. Yeah, I do a lot better with voiced stuff too since my knowledge of that extends a bit further than text. I still have like a 200+ page Japanese language textbook sitting in my bedroom that I need to finish studying, but I keep putting it off since I know enough to get through games, but not enough to navigate through Japan properly XD

            • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

I’ve got the textbooks too but I was hoping to use them as a pre-Japanese major study rather than outright self-study. I’ll right that problem soon enough. You were also right about the katakana/hiragana for things. In that sense I’ve memorized quite a bit more than I’m capable of individually recognizing as a result.

      • http://youtube.com/miyabigaming 武神水樹

I don’t know personally just looks awesome

    • Eclipse

      That’s my plan as well.

After all, this is my most anticipated game <3

  • PrinceHeir

    amazing stuff :)

  • Hikaru Lighthalzen

    i m wondering what should i do….
wait for localization or import the japanese one..
    this seems so amazing..

  • Ivan Junior

jesus christ. It’ll be a sin if Namco Bandai dont add online multiplayer feature in this game =OOOOOOOOOOOO

    • https://www.youtube.com/user/GamingHeroTetsuya TetsuyaHikari

Nah, they will. They just stated it’s not being implemented at this time, but they are in the process of working on it, so it will probably be featured in an update after release would be my best guess :3

      • Ivan Junior

I really expect this to happen bud. I bought my Vita because of this game, and I dont wanna play alone. Multiplayer online will be freaking awesome!!

        • AdachiTohru

          Me too !

  • Always No. 9

    1. I like, no – love how they restructured the combat (blade moveset has changed + it looks smoother/more fluent)

    2. The addition of abilities/skills is just……marvelous

    3. Run and Gun? Hell…..Yeah!

    3. The Graphics? Wow, the flames on top of the buildings, the smooth frame-rate, the overall look is sublime. I mean really, good job

…….Localization……NOW…..I’ll make it worth your time Bamco *wink* (jk)……#9

    • Elvick

Namco Bandai? Localize a Vita game? That people want?

      • Always No. 9

        Yeah yeah, I know…….but guess what? I’ am an optimist! Therefore…….I believe ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ ……#9

  • xMCXx

So, they made their own Monster Hunter, but without Black Jack and hookers?

  • Kobracon

Hmm..is it just me or does the combat feel a little less….weighty? In GE1, each hit you made felt impactful, here it just looks like hes slicing butter….

Edit: Oh I see that was just the light blade. My bad.

  • Elvick

Wish the quality was better, but it looks great in other videos so one can assume it looks good here too. :p

  • Ni ~Algidus~

I’m more hyped for GE2 than MH 4. This one is going to be Day 1.
And why i’m seeing a Burst version for PS3 in the future?
