Meet Garara Ayala and Kunchuu.

Famitsu this week introduces two new monsters in Monster Hunter 4.

First there’s the snake dragon Garara Ajara (絞蛇竜ガララ・アジャラ), who has a giant, snake-like body.

Then there’s the rhinoceros beetle Kunchuu (甲虫種クンチュウ), a small monster that gangs up on its prey in large groups and feeds on Yian Kut-Ku.

A new field called the “Unknown Sea of Trees” is also introduced. There, the player can meet Nora Otomo (ノラオトモ) and Piggie.

The magazine also has new details on the Charge Axe weapon.

Monster Hunter 4 is due out for 3DS this summer in Japan.

Thanks, Tale Tale Source.

Get a 3DS, it has plenty of great games, too.

        Why “too” !?
Vita hasn’t really good games (at least no games you HAVE to own….IMO)

Shinobido 2. Well, unless you live in Europe and can get a copy of the original Shinobido *sigh*

    - Shouldn’t be on 3ds
    – I’ll wait for the Vita version
    – Boy this should be on Vita
    – It would look better on Vita
    – This game is ugly
    – 3ds doesn’t deserve this game
    – Vita > 3ds
    – Did I mention the Vita?
    – *most people talk about vita instead about actual game*
-One comment excited about game, down voted at least 9-10 times.

There I think I covered most of the bases of what I’ll see here. Did I miss something?

It’d look better on 3DS if they fixed those damn textures.

I got nothing else to complain if they do fixed those damn textures…

Haha, so much butthurt. Very savory. I actually enjoy seeing those comments.

Considering how little effort was put into making it not look like shit, I doubt putting it on the Vita would do it any justice.

At this very moment, I could care less about the Vita. I want Monster Hunter 4 to be available on upcoming home consoles, powered by the Panta Rhei, so not only it’ll be fun but also drop-dead gorgeous. Till this day, I’m still trying so freaking hard to understand why so many people are wishing for this game to be on the Vita instead of the PS3, Xbox 360 or upcoming consoles. Surely folks should realize that the VIta is also just another freaking system utilizing mobile hardware and not a hardcore powerhouse like the consoles I mentioned earlier.

For the same reason people had been whining about games being put on PSP instead of PS3 for years – they spent a lot of money on a new shiny that didn’t deliver any software. Bet on the wrong pony, as it were.

    • MusubiKazesaru

if only that were all true and Vita didn’t have a pathetic install base. :P

For those who will complain about it not being on Vita, just be glad it might be coming here at all. Several years ago, I BEGGED Capcom for months to bring anything MH related to the west, and they have finally started listening. We missed out on tons of MH games, so worry about it coming west before you even begin to worry about the system it’s on.

    AJARA. AJARA.

  • TimesTicking

Are they also planning to release this on the Wii U or is it going to be a handheld exclusive?

    • MusubiKazesaru

so far nothing, but it’ll probably get a console port eventually, I think Capcom’s found a good home in Nintendo’s systems for Monster Hunter and hopefully it’ll stay that way

When was I crying about it. I said these are the things I expected to see here.
