Nendoroid-style Miku returns to 3DS.

Sega has released the first screenshots of Hatsune Miku: Project Mirai 2 (a tentative title, by the way), its upcoming 3DS sequel to Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai.

The game stars Nendoroid-style Vocaloid characters and features both “Touch” and “Button”-based gameplay modes. It will have full-sized songs like Doremifa Rondo by 40mP, and cute costumes like the all-pink Sakura Miku. It’s out this fall in Japan.

Visit the game’s official website here. View the screenshots at the gallery.

I was hoping for them to switch over to a Project Diva style…sadly I’m probably going to pass on this one

  • tubers

    Good for 3DS Miku fans.

  • Duc PC-QB

All I can do is watching due to the stupid region lock.
Al least make this game multi platform SEGA

    • asch999

Look like some 3DS fanboy cannot accept if this end up on other console/handheld

      • OlimacFTW

In the same way if some Vita fanboys cannot accept if Project Diva f would end up on other handheld.

        • Elvick

Wouldn’t really matter much worldwide. We wouldn’t have it. And no one could freely import it unless they buy another 3DS from Japan. Which just artificially inflates 3DS’ hardware numbers… maybe that’s why Nintendo does region lock? :/

Anyhoo, it would be lame for Vita in Japan. But F is on PS3 already anyway and as I recall, was announced along with f or at least before it came out.

But worldwide, Vita owners would still be in the better position.

Err, where else is it going to go besides consoles? 3DS can’t handle it; that’s why Mirai exists. And yet, Vita can handle 3DS graphics contents, as well as the touch controls now— so it makes sense why fans would hope the series expands to the Vita, not only because of that ludicrous region-lock, but also because most gamers probably only own one of the handhelds rather than both.
As a Vita owner I’d really love it if SMT 4 and Etrian Oddysey 4 and Code of Princess came over, amongst a dozen other games— and there’s no reason not to as there is no reason the Vita cannot *adequately* retain those experiences. 3DS owners can’t really do this though because the system can’t handle Vita titles— which actually gives some clarity to why they’re downvoting :P

          • OlimacFTW

So, you are saying that is fine if Nintendo loses its exclusives, but no the other way around. That is the reason why people bash fanboys.
I have both handhelds, and i think having exclusive games make them unique in the best way.

          • Haku_Luvs_You

Oh sorry almighty VIta owner. But you’re right, you deserve every game under the sun, because you bought a Vita! Maybe they’re downvoting because Vita owners act like the world should revolve around them.

            • refrain

I could say the same to 3ds fags. Seriously, why acting like this? I owned both. But seriously I like my Vita much more. I can import and play my favorite Tales of series with no problem. There’s no goddamn region lock

              • Haku_Luvs_You

I own both too, and a Japanese 3ds. So I have no reason to cry like a little bitch over games that don’t make it here. If it doesn’t come to a system you own tough luck.

                • asch999

The reason people bitching isn’t because the game released in 3DS but that stupid region lock.

                  • Haku_Luvs_You

“As a Vita owner I’d really love it if SMT 4 and Etrian Oddysey 4 and Code of Princess came over, amongst a dozen other games— and there’s no reason not to as there is no reason the Vita cannot *adequately* retain those experiences. 3DS owners can’t really do this though because the system can’t handle Vita titles— which actually gives some clarity to why they’re downvoting :P” not even talking about miku anymore

Dunno if you’ve kept up with gaming trends, but the aspect of “exclusives” is viewed pretty harshly. Exclusives don’t really do any developer, or publisher, or gamer, any justice, what-so-ever. So yes; I do want 3DS exclusives widely available elsewhere, as these are games that I, and many gamers of various budgets, would also like to experience on the limited assortment available to them.

This has nothing to do with “fanboyism”. This is just referring to what systems offer what, and in terms of regional titles, the 3DS simply does not allow this— so, and I don’t know how to say this any better, f–k the 3DS, as those eastern exclusives are equally as significant as multi-national titles and there is no reason to prevent a gamer from experiencing them.

              • Haku_Luvs_You

Then why not make Vita exclusives widely available as well? Or PS3 exclusives? When will I see Soul Sacrifice on 360 or WiiU? Why can’t I get Halo 4 on my Vita? 3ds isn’t the only system with exclusives, so stop acting like you should be given every game. Don’t know if you’ve kept up with gaming trends but exclusives are here to stay, so choose your systems wisely. If you miss out on something, well again tough luck.

We play games, not consoles. Who cares what platform each Vocaloid game is on, the games are great.

    • Haku_Luvs_You

Read my mind! Come on Sega give us a WiiU version too!!!

      • http://www.psvitadirect.com/ Kurisu Makise

Why would you request a port to another region locked console xD? I assume Duc was looking for a region free platform to get out of jail =P

    • refrain

I wonder why this comment was downvoted. Is it because the 3DS fanboy got pissed?

  • Haku_Luvs_You

Looks Great! Any word on if Gumi is making a return? Also <3 Sakura Miku, wonder if the Snow Miku outfit will also come back…

I'm not sure where the Open Forum is so I'll put my spiel here. I would like to say congratulations to the people of Boston, and I wish you the best going forward. The whole country is behind you! I'm not sure if there is anybody from Boston on here, but know me and millions of Americans hope for the best as you recover.
Does the Open Forum still exist Sal, or just not enough time to put it up? I'm not crazy there was one last Friday…. right?

  • http://xcite79.1up.com Keegs79

Looks too cute to me. I have the latest version on the Vita and prefer its character designs. It really doesn’t matter anyway since Nintendo region locks their handheld. Sucks.

  • weyou

Why not a new Project Diva for 3DS? Sega really hates money?!?!?!?

    • Hikaru Lighthalzen

seems hard , since all project diva is for sony’s console and handheld

  • bldudas

    Seems cute. >.<

    • Haku_Luvs_You

      Your name seems familiar

  • PrinceHeir

    yay!!!!

  • Ritsujun

    Ewwww, nendoroids-styled chibi characters.
