The hero and Fuko finish the fight.

Spike Chunsoft has released a new set of screenshots and artwork for Conception II, its upcoming RPG sequel for PS Vita and 3DS.

The screenshots show battles, finishing moves, dungeons, event scenes, and love affairs, while the artwork shows the game world, main labyrinth, main character, heroine Fuko, and friend Kurotsugu.

The update comes by way of an English press release from publisher and developer Spike Chunsoft. But before you get excited, they did the same for the original PSP game, which was never released overseas.

Find the press release below. View the screenshots at the gallery.

Today, Spike Chunsoft announced the launch of Conception II: Guidance of Seven Stars and Muzzle’s Nightmare (English title TBD), a dungeon crawl RPG, sequel to ‘Conception: Please Have My Babies’ released in April 2012. The game will be released for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita this summer, 2013 in Japan. The retail price is TBD, and North American and/or European releases of the game are also TBD.

The player chosen as “Marebito” bond with “Saint Students” to have “Star Children”

Another Terra is a magic world that professes the “Star God.” People in Another Terra are forced to live under the threat of demonic creatures for over twenty years. The player will be one and only Marebito, and will make children with seven Saint Students and fight together to destroy the demon’s nest. The demon’s nest covering the world is a labyrinth called the “Muzzle Circle.” It is divided into seven parts and continues producing demonic creatures.

The Muzzle Circle can only be destroyed by god saving Marebito, Saint Students, and Star Children.

Maintaining the highly acclaimed elements and in addition to the prequel, extreme graphical improvement, reconstruction of the characters and its worldview, strengthened events with Star Children and heroines, the heroine can also take a part in a battle, added online child making feature, Conception II is juiced up and back waiting for you to be one and only Marebito to save the magic world of Another Terra.

Please Japan, use the magic of anti-aliasing. These screenshots are from the Vita build if the resolution is correct, they should have this many jaggies!

    • ( `Д´)ノ)`ν゜)

The Vita has a SAMOLED screen that is about half as large as the images. Screenshots never do the Vita justice.

I can still see a huge lack of AA.

        • Kefkiroth

AA isn’t needed due to the Vita’s ppi. For example, P4G screenshots always look terrible, but in game the colors pop out more, and the jaggies aren’t nearly as noticeable.

      Japanese love jaggies

As long that the game is running at the Vita’s native resolution, AA is a huge waste on that 5-inch screen. Its inclusion is more than welcome of course, but I would rather to have it excluded in other to concentrate the resources on more important matters, such as having high quality textures and maintaining a solid performance.

I talked a lot of shit about DoA5+ horrible jaggies seen on pictures. That is, until I actually bought the game and realized it looked like a whole different game on the actual vita screen.

I got excited right before I read “before you get excited” lol.

Anyhow, I’m looking forward to this. I think it’ll have a higher chance at being picked up since it’s on 3DS and Vita. I could totes see Aksys going for it.

Man…only 7 girls? This sure is a downgrade if compared to the 12 girls from the original.
