Report: Jason West leaves Respawn Entertainment
In-development shooter reportedly not affected, will be at E3.Jason West (pictured left), the co-creator of the Call of Duty franchise and co-founder of Respawn Entertainment, has left the studio he founded with Vince Zampella under Electronic Arts in April 2010.
According to a Kotaku source, West’s departure was amicable and due to family issues. He reportedly left last May. A Giant Bomb report echoes that claim, saying West “has not been involved in active development for Respawn’s game for a number of months now.” Polygon says his leave was “not related to any issues at the studio, but rather a desire by West to simply retire.”
According to Giant Bomb’s Patrick Klepeck, West’s retirement has not impacted the studio’s in-development shooter, which will be at this year’s E3.
Thanks, NeoGAF.
