Pokemon Rumble U will launch as a download-only Wii U title for 1,800 yen in Japan on April 24, the latest issue of CoroCoro Comic reveals.

Additionally, the mag reveals that it is a NFC (near field communications) title that works in conjunction with a set of “Pokemon Rumble U NFC Figures” (think Skylanders). Six regular and one special figure will go on sale on April 24 for 200 yen each. Not only can these figures bring the Pokemon into the game, but they can also save your battle information.

Thanks, Game Jouhou.

    N-NFC FIGURES?!

    ALRIGHT!
Though it’s going to fall apart rather quickly if they don’t support it properly.

Unless they add actual leveling mechanics, instead of “catch a non-shitty level replacement” crap. Then I don’t care, and the “battle information” it’ll save on a figure is fairly useless.

    This spin-off series disappoints me.
