Nintendo has shared the debut video footage of Pokemon Rumble U, its first near-field communications and upcoming download title for Wii U.

Pokemon Rumble U uses NFC Pokemon figures, which store training data, to bring Pokemon into the game. You can purchase these toys for 200 yen each. If you pre-order the download card for the game at a Pokemon Center store, you will receive a special Pikachu figure as a bonus. Get a better look at these toys at the game’s official website.

Watch the debut trailer below. Pokeomon Rumble U is due out for Wii U on April 24 in Japan for 1,800 yen.

NFC looks really awesome. Might be the only DD game I want to buy.

Do they level up this time? Hate replacing them with better ones as a way of progression. Feels pointless.
