Search some Vita Friends. But only people that play alot of games on the system. PSN: Rvn10_

  • LordKaiser

Damn you Sega For Delaying PS02!!! I hope the delay is justified!

    • shogunknight

Worst part of the delay was that it was till further notice…

      • LordKaiser

I’m currently downloading the JP version updates. Got tired of waiting.

  • Azuardo

Made a little gaming progress again.

Finished The Walking Dead TellTale series a few days ago. Great game; loved it to bits.

Bought Resident Evil 6, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West in bargain sales yesterday. Enjoying NGS2 a fair bit so far. Easy mode for me :D

Playing escapeVektor on 3DS for review. Not a bad little game.

What do we make of Shenmue 3 possibly coming to PS4? Okay, jumping the gun massively there, but I hope it’s happening. Massive respect to Sony if they are willing to make it happen. I wouldn’t care how much the PS4 would cost if it meant I could play this game.

  • DarthBrian

Been replaying Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines recently. Wesp put out a new Plus Patch 8.5 that does some cool stuff. But patch 8.4 added an entirely new quest called ‘Night in the Library’. It’s a pretty cool level. It’s a pretty big area with a couple puzzles and then a boss fight at the end. Definitely worth re-installing to try the new stuff IMO. And if you’ve never played VtM:B, then remedy that as soon as possible (requires a PC though :p) but don’t use the plus patch on your first playthrough, just use defeaults when installing 8.5.

You can get the new patch here:

  • talesoffan

    I just watched this: http://telly.com/AWJF96?sg=1

and I absolutely can’t wait for Xillia.

    • Potionzmaster

Doesn’t work on Ipad. I’m crying right now :’(

      • talesoffan

I’m watching it on my iPhone 5. Click no when it asks you to use Telly’s video player.

        • Potionzmaster

          It worked just now :D
So that was the scene with “teach me Bariboooo!”, huh. Pretty awesome :D

    • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

Just asking…. Where does this take place?

      • talesoffan

The video is from the Tales Panel at Wondercon. Can’t wait until the video shown is released.

        • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

          Thank you… ^___^

  • Tetsu

What’s the next game your excited about getting?

    I’m excited for Soul Sacrifice.

    • Eclipse

I’m definitely excited to get SMT IV _<

      • Tetsu

I’ve been playing the waiting game more than any other game this year, E3 can’t come soon enough! lol

    • GetOffMy_Lawn

Soul Hackers for me =) April 16th can’t be here soon enough!!

      • Tetsu

I know right? It seems the year goes by SUPER fast for any other reason, but when it comes to games coming out, it takes FOREVERRRRRRRRR

    • Haku_Luvs_You

SMT games for 3ds. I have a feeling they will be some of the best handheld games of the year.

      • Tetsu

Are we getting Fire Emblem x Shin Megami this year too? Cause i hope so!

        • Haku_Luvs_You

I hope so too, that would be great :)

    • Kefkiroth

This so much. I’m really looking forward to a replayable original title on Vita. Hopefully Soul Sacrifice is somewhat like Monster Hunter in terms of content and replayability. Playing Persona 4 Golden for the first time was amazing and kept me going for over 100 hours, but sadly after getting the platinum, there’s not much to do due to its linear “day-by-day” structure.

Also eagerly awaiting SMTIV for 3DS.

      • Tetsu

Yesssssss, it’s almost April too! but it comes at the END of April, curses!

I’m gonna play the heck out of this game. I wonder how long the story mode is?

Either way, its my first original RPG/Action-Adventure game for Vita so i’m very stoked about that as well :D

    • DichaTesoro

Tales of Xillia. I’m going to go into some fangirl spasm when the release date is announced. Same thing for MGS5.

      • Tetsu

Ditto! I can’t wait to sink my teeth into Xillia!

I hope MGS5 comes out this year! XD

      • LordKaiser

        I already pre-ordered with the $28 I got from KH1&2 and FFX.

        • Tetsu

You sold KH 1&2 and FFX?…but…there such good games :(

          • LordKaiser

Oh don’t worry about it. I’m just upgrading those :)

            • Tetsu

Gonna be awhile before we get 2.5, but your totally right :P

    • PrinceHeir

Devil Summoner Soul Hackers, Killer is Dead, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure!!!!!!!

      Suda 51 rocks!!!!!!

      • Tetsu

        I want all these too!

Can’t wait for Killer is Dead!

I wonder what the chances of Jojo”s Bizarre Adventure of coming to the West are?

        • PrinceHeir

namco did a trademark of JoJo last year.

          so could be :)

          • Tetsu

            That’s fantastic! That’s what I like to hear :)

    • Elvick

Like super excited? Tearaway and Puppeteer.

Because, I’m excited for a lot, but those two are like super high levels.

    • AnimusVox

Tales of Xillia, Soul Hackers, SMTIV, Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, Soul Sacrifice, Ys Celestia (I think I spelled that wrong)

      • Tetsu

        Celceta, no worries!
I am really excited for Ys Iv, gonna be amazing, but september is sooooo far away.

    • almostautumn

Well I was excited for my copy of shinovi versus, but this 20+ days wait for it has kind of sapped that :P

      Other games are;
Killer is Dead (most anticipated game of the year)
Guided Fate Paradox (huggggge fan of ZHP)
Vividred Operation (if only because I don’t have to wait 20 days for an import)
      Tales of Xillia
      Killzone Mercenary
      Soul Sacrifice
      Guacamalee

I’m also pretty excited for Time and Eternity, although I know I’m going to be underwhelmed. All the negative reviews point to aspects I know that I will be annoyed by or very much turned off by— but hell, I still want to get it. I hear it’s pretty short so I’ll have a nice rental out of it.

      • Tetsu

I am interested in Time and Eternity, but I want to see how it does.

Killer is Dead, Tales of Xillia, Soul Sacrifice are all insta-buys for me!

    • HassanJamal

Yup, SS is my next top purchase. After that, TLOU and Beyond Two Souls.

    • Kobracon

Dynasty Warriors 8, Soul Sacrifice, JoJo, FF13-3, One Piece Kaizoku Musou 2 and so many more.

      • Tetsu

I’m very curious about the combat system in Lightning Returns. They’ve talked about it, but i wanna seeee it. I hope that there is a ton of stuff to do in battle, cause there’s no party.

  • Potionzmaster

Started the God of War Saga this week for the first time :D
And about time. My current backlog is astronomical!

    • AnimusVox

Mine too. I keep trying to work on it but it just doesnt work.

      • Potionzmaster

The problem is it’s just getting bigger and bigger. Now, if developers would just give me the time to work through my backlog. But no, they just HAVE to make more awesome games. *sigh*

        • Tac-Mex

I am curious, what is your backlog?

          • Potionzmaster

Some of it (can’t remember them all xD): Journey, 3D dot game heroes, Disgaea 4, Tomb Raider trilogy, Batman Arkhams, Half-minute hero, DMC, MGR:Rev., Tomb Raider, Mass Effect trilogy, Fire Emblem, 3 Rachet & Clank games, Heavenly Sword, Valkyria Chronicles, Tales of Graces F, TWEWY, the Ninja Gaiden Sigma/Razor’s Edge games, Vanquish…
And the list goes on and on >_>

            • AnimusVox

You should do ‘Journey’ next. It’s only like 2-3hrs but it’s a hell of an experience. I loved it and the music.

            • Azuardo

I would second Journey, especially as it’s a quick one that you can do in a few hours. Then, personally, I would say do the ME Trilogy. I only played it all properly a few months ago and it instantly became my fave set of games this gen. Most fun I’ve had in years. You have a very nice backlog to get through, though – a lot of awesome games in there. Good luck!

            • z_merquise

              That’s a lot of backlogs.

              (Noticed Vanquish in the list)
Go play Vanquish!! It’s one of the best games I ever played!

It may be short but that game is meant to be played in multiple playthrough and you’ll enjoy it more once you learned it’s mechanics while playing it at Hard mode.

        • AnimusVox

          I know right? So inconsiderate.

    • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

      Ah… The irony….

I’ve grabbed the HD version of the first God of War with PS+ not to long ago… Yet, another game added to my massive backlog…

  • Raiyu

    http://telly.com/AWJF96

    So um…how about those bazongas?

  • z_merquise

I knew MGS V would be the pic in this week’s Open Forum. (though I was expecting it to be Big Boss on a motorcycle)

I like how Kaz Miller is still wearing shades even after all that’s happening.

    • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

I like how Miller is still wearing shades in MGS1…

    • PrinceHeir

lol im also surprise as well his still wearing them in a ER XD

  • Tac-Mex

Should i get a Playstation Vita or a Nintendo 3DS?

Both has great JPRGS but i can only afford one at the moment <_<

    • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

I can’t choose for you… It’s something you have to decide for yourself…

Why not wait till you feel confident on getting either of these? Be it a price drop or games you wanted are released…

      • Tac-Mex

I really want to play Persona 4 on vita and Soul Sacrifice however i think that Nintendo 3DS has better upcoming JRPGS

        • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

Personally, I enjoyed playing Persona 4 Golden on my Vita and planning to get Soul Scarifice… With PS+, I get to play Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward and MGS HD collection during my subscription duration…

On the other hand, the 3DS has Pokemon X/Y, Rune Factory 4 and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate… So like the others above me, you really can’t go wrong with both…

    • PrinceHeir

      get both!!!

but first 3DS XL, since Vita might have a price cut soon(E3)

    • Haku_Luvs_You

Tough call. 3ds is getting JRPGs with good track records. Vita is getting new stuff, that while it looks good could end up being awful. But it might be a risk worth taking.

If you plan on getting both at one point or another. Go 3ds since it’s cheaper, then wait a while to see if a vita price drop will happen. You would get a vita either way, but if it means saving some big bucks it might be worth it!

    • Elvick

I use my Vita way more, and it needs the support sooner. So… Vita.

I love my Vita, like my 3DS. Can’t go wrong with both eventually.

    • almostautumn

As you’re on Gematsu, I got to ask; how into import games are you? Are there any series you really love? For me, I started with the 3DS, but that region-lock became quickly apparant and so I traded it for a Vita. Both systems, 3DS and Vita, have really great local libraries, but both systems, also, have a ton of East-only exclusives. With Vita you can access them; with 3DS, you can’t.
Also, for local libraries the question comes down to 1st party exclusives. Both systems have certain flairs with their 3rd party genres, especially RPGs. Vita boasts more contemporary flavors, like Tales, P4:G, and Soul Sacrifice, while the 3DS upholds some seriously slick classic flavors in the form of Etrian Oddysey, Fire Emblem, and the upcoming Soul Hackers, but overall both systems have a very unique, stacked library for most genres. And so— well, what’s more important to you; Nintendo titles, or Sony? Personally I go for Sony; while Nintendo does tackle the genres like Sony, I just like Sony’s more “real” display of genres, whether it’s shooting (Resistance), platforming (Uncharted), action (Gravity Rush). This is personal, as I’ve fallen out of Nintendo art-direction and design, but if you haven’t then the 3DS should be considered thoroughly as it already boasts some of the most impressive titles Nintendo has ever made, ever.

    • michel

Both are great, but I went with Vita, because of no-region lock and more adult feel of the games (including JRPGs)

    • Tetsu

If you plan on getting a PS4 near launch, then definitely a Vita! the Vita will be an amazing companion to the PS4 with remote play. Whether you want to play in a different room, or prefer a portable experience, you’ll be able to. Also the added benefit of being able to play PS4 games on-the-go as long as you got WiFi connection somewhere.

Both are great, just depends on what you want right now. But definitely get both eventually. I say by next year they will be super hopping with games, and the Vita will hit its stride and the 3DS will be there too.

  • Tac-Mex

Why Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is not coming to Wii U?

I hate to be that guy but seriously, Wii U needs third party support

    • PrinceHeir

      agree!

bring in fighting games as well like Soul Calibur V(playable Link/Zelda and Ganon’s Castle) or Dead or Alive 5(playable Samus, and Ridley stage)

    • Elvick

That’s what I say when games coming to literally everything aren’t coming to Vita.

The least companies could do is ports.

    • Josh

I hate how developers use the screen as a reason they don’t bring there game to the wii u. ie. Using it in a unique way. It doesn’t have to be used or they could just use it as a inventory or map screen.

  • Gaara D.Dragon

YOICHI WADA EX CEO OF SQUARE ENIX.

Now that i got your attention, I am still curious as hell about what went on behind closed doors and FF XIII was ported to the 360 at the last possible moment.

I see only two possible solutions

-PS3 sales were behind and Wada chickened out.

-MS and Square came at a financial agreement.

    What do you think ?

    • Tac-Mex

Honestly i don’t care, Final Fantasy XIII was a terrible game

      • Gaara D.Dragon

hmmm some people are obsessed talking negatively about this game but the reality is that it was not received badly at all. nothing like RE 6 for example, a reception so bad that halted sales.

FF XIII is huge seller on the PS3 and a mediocre seller on the 360.

So i do think it really is important to know about this failed decision on Wada’s part.

        • Tac-Mex

I am not obsessed, i am just saying the truth, Final Fantasy XIII was a pretty mediocre game

          • Gaara D.Dragon

it just went from terrible to mediocre…

            • MosquitoLemon

Don’t worry, after everyone pretends to hate XIV, XIII will become an instant classic.

          • Kobracon

Opinion =/= truth. Each FF series is always a hit or miss. You either love it or hate it. Like how I hate FF12 and 7 with all my being but love everything else (yes even FFX-2 and XIII). XIII was just the most obvious one that split the fanbase.

            • http://twitter.com/GematsuZero Zero

I’d say its even debatable as to which game the fanbase hates the most. Lots of fans hated FF 12, then moved on to hating FF13, etc.

I’ve learned to enjoy each game for its own merits. The creators want to try and do something new with each game, so I try not to compare them.

Both 12 and 13 are quite different from traditional FF games, that’s for sure. I’d say the last FF game that felt more traditional was FFX. Even then, it had some stuff that was sorta weird for FF games, like the sphere grid system.

Since Lightning Returns and even Versus 13 are going to be more action based games, and 14 = mmorpg —

I’d like to see the team Ito is leading make the next Final Fantasy. I kinda want to see a more traditional looking game, just made with today’s hardware and tech. Sorta like they did when they made FF9. They wanted to make another FF game that felt more like the classic, but matched the current standard visually and performance wise.

              • Tetsu

                THISSSSSS

I so badly want a turned base old school style with next gen flare, soooo bad. please oh please give me that square-enix!

    • Elvick

MS threw money at them. They even advertised FFXIII only on the 360 (and it still sold worse than the PS3 version… and XIII-2 sold LAUGHABLY bad on 360)

That’s what I believe. Plus they were doing jack on PS3 forever.

      • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

And yet… Sony managed to keep FFXIII exclusive in Asian territories(Hong Kong, etc) somehow…. That and SCEAsia gave FFXIII a better treatment with better cover art and Eng subs/Jap Dubs….

XIII-2 sold one third compared to the original XIII and on both platforms… That’s not a good sign for any company…

        • Gaara D.Dragon

On the contrary, FF XIII-2 is not much more than recycled material, one third of the original’s size and it still sold more than any rpg from japan.

It’s not a numbered FF, it’s just a spin off that did almost 3 m.

In this market it did fantastic.

          • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

I recalled Tales of Xillia beaten XIII-2 by a slight margin in their first week… In Final Fantasy numbers, 500K is not much to scoff about…

  • almostautumn

And here comes the beautiful season again, and for the second year in a row I still don’t have a tennis partner. This time, though, I picked up an actual tennis game; VT4, for Vita, and man is it sexy. Huge, and i mean HUGE, single player campaign that has a lot of really welcomed variety to it. I didn’t mind Hot Shots Tennis on PSP, but it was justmatch after match. VT4 has all these great mini-games that really do co-exist beside the main tennis game, and it really keeps things fresh.

  • Wackoramaco87

Just out of pure curiosity- for those who go on Japanese forums, do Japanese players care as much as some Western players seem to about having dual audio? Or do they mostly not care?

  • DichaTesoro

So, I may get some hate for this but, I’ve got a question.

The next Atelier game was announced this week, Escha and Logy just when Ayesha was released here a few weeks back, after Meruru and Totori releasing in the past two years…

Why does the AC series or what have you get a lot of heat for yearly releases when the Atelier series doesn’t?
I do like the Atelier series, only played the Arland series, except Meruru, and am currently enjoying Ayesha. And I really like the AC series. I hope I’m not too bias here.

    • Elvick

      Hypocrisy exists. That’s why.

  • Adurna012

Finally ordered a copy of Tales of Vesperia PS3. Waiting on it to arrive. So excited!

    • GetOffMy_Lawn

Enjoy it!! I played the 360 version and absolutely loved it!! Easily my favorite game of this generation. Hope you love it as much as I did! Seriously can’t praise this game enough. :P

    • ddsfan2

It’s worth it, seems like a really worthy game as far as I’ve played, and the Japanese version is pretty playable, even with a printed translation. Unfortunately, the 360 script available on the internet is missing a ton of extra content in the PS3 version, so there will be long parts that you won’t be able to understand until the full script or fan translation is ever released..

I haven’t played very far due to a massive backlog, but I’ve owned the JP version since 2010, and have not regretted it.

  • PrinceHeir

so PS3 Disc drive is really broken, so i had to send it to local shop.

cost me around $120, they’ll replace the lens.

i think it’s worth it, since i love the PS3 Slim, and i don’t plan on buying a super slim at all

    • z_merquise

Glad to know that it can be fixed and your PS3 is not in a very bad condition.

I still felt bad on what happened on my PS3 phat almost 2 years ago.
(my save files, all of my hot chicks characters I created for SoulCalibur 4, my progress at Hard Corps: Uprising, etc. ALL LOST!!!)

      • PrinceHeir

        wooow O______O

hate to see that happen :

wish you had PS Plus back then and backed it up!

at least we now have alternatives.

        • z_merquise

Yeah. What’s worse was that it happened few days after I applied for the PSN+ free trial and the cloud-save feature was introduced.

Well, shit happens. But at least my PS3 slim is fine and better performance-wise. The only thing I hated on it is that it won’t play any PS2 games anymore.

          • PrinceHeir

yeah i miss PS2 backward compatibility.

since there are fighting games i want to try in an arcade stick and PS2 arcade sticks are non-existent nowadays

            • ddsfan2

I actually modded a lower end PS1 Hori stick (Fighting Stick PS) with Sanwa and Seimitsu parts for that reason, (bought the two cheapest ones off ebay, no one cares about those, unlike the coveted HRAP model for PS2) and use it with adapters on various systems.

The all Sanwa one works really well, but required (in addition to basic wire soldering and crimping) a case extension because sticks from that generation are so shallow.

It was totally worth it, although if I did it again, I might start from a cheaper stick like the Mayflash one. As soon as I figure out a good way to mount a Seimitsu LS-58 in there, I’ll have a great SHMUP stick as well to accompany it, although the all Sanwa one is actually fine for SHMUPs in spite of its long throw.

              • PrinceHeir

im not really good modding these sticks :(

still though, i’ll definitely learn this sometime in the summer.

i do also want a modded stick ^^

                • ddsfan2

Basically, if you already have a high end one, then you probably have all Sanwa parts, so then you just need a more versatile PCB (preferably a PS1 or PS2 one).

In my case, I had the PCB that I needed (PS1 already on the stick), but the stock buttons were beyond terrible compared to any stick of this generation, which led me to mod it.

Plus, the JLF and LS- sticks are amazing, better than anything I’ve ever used before.

                  • PrinceHeir

                    JLF and LS O__O

    • Elvick

      Super Slim is hideous. ):

And me no want a top loader.

Sucks, because I’d like to get a backup in case something happens to my fatty. My beautiful… beautiful fatty. <3

      • Skerj

Gotta agree. As someone who’s launch 60 gig unit is out of commission I ended up getting a Super Slim, REALLY dislike the top loading. It’s so cumbersome and cheap feeling.

      • PrinceHeir

        i still have my fatty.

but i mainly used it for PS2(even though i STILL have my two PS2 slims)

playing PS3 games on my slim will pretty much YLOD it since it already happened twice and i had to fix it two times(90 each)

    • http://twitter.com/GematsuZero Zero

Ouch! I’m sorry that happened to you. That’s one of those unexpected things you have to spend money on, that you really wish you didn’t have to spend money on.

      • PrinceHeir

yeah it just freeze my Uncharted 3 game, then the next day it won’t read games at all.

still i’ll definitely take care of this for sure!

        • http://twitter.com/GematsuZero Zero

Sounds like you just had a bit of bad luck to me. I hope everything works smoothly for you after the repair. =)

            thanks ^^

          Uncharted huh?

Probably a coincidence but Uncharted 2 was also the game I was playing before my first PS3′s BD drive went out (and eventually the whole system T_T)

I think it’s one of those games that definitely pushed the PS3 to the limit.

          • PrinceHeir

            yes!!

Uncharted 2/3 are the only games that keep making me PS3 freeze.

even the slim, it’s the only game as well.

yeah, it’s definitely the game that keeps pushing the PS3 to its limit XD

So I beat Bioshock Infinite on Wednesday. I don’t think I’ve ever been blown away by a games story like that. (At least not for a while) And yet I have to play more. It’s like a book where the first time you read it, it’s kind of confusing, but read it again and you pick up on something you missed. And slowly you just figure everything out. A terrific game that I would recommend to everyone!

Just saw the news about unreal engine 4 and frostbite 3 not coming to the WiiU, quite unfortunate but UE3 is still superb and they may still be able to port UE4 titles to it.

  • z_merquise

I just found this article and I found it a very good and interesting read.

This is about Vanillaware’s homages from Western art and literature for their upcoming game, Dragon’s Crown:

    http://art-eater.com/2013/03/from-mickey-mouse-to-jesus-the-latest-dragons-crown-trailer-is-full-of-epic-homages/

If you’re interested in this game (I’m sure many people in this site are) I suggest you read it. I’m really surprised on how much inspirations Vanillaware had in creating Dragon’s Crown.

Just started P4G a few days ago, Chie’s new voice is bloody irritating. Her VA has that nasally shrill overacting stereotypical old anime dub voice I loathe and it won’t end. ..it won’t end.

    • Kobracon

I gotta admit….I got used to it. The old one was good but sounded a bit old. This one is overacting a little but thats coz Chie is meant to be hyper and loud even in the Jap dub.

      • Skerj

I heard others say that she sounded old, I never thought that. Her old voice matched her design. This new one. ..man. I’ve been trying to get used to it but every time I hear her talk I just press X to speed past it then go back and read it with select.

I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with it if it weren’t for the constant overacting. When she’s just delivering the lines regularly she’s alright but too much time was spent adding extra whiny squeals to assault my ears. I hope I get used to it or she calms down eventually.

        But dude: http://youtu.be/R39QSuVsztY?t=40s

        • Kobracon

For me, context was achieved when I heard the original Jap dub. This VA is possibly the closest to that than the first english VA.

  • RedWolfe

So has anyone else been following this upcoming web series?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImKCt7BD4U4

It’s called RWBY and it’s being created by Monty Oum who many people know as the creator of Haloid and the Dead Fantasy series.

So far 3 characters Ruby, Weiss & Blake (above) have been revealed with each representing being Red, White & Black, respectively and seemed to be based off of popular fairly tales with Ruby based on Little Red Riding, Weiss off of Snow White and Blake (& Adam) off of Beauty & the Beast.

Anyway, just plugging this for anyone who may be interested.

    • Kobracon

I follow ANYTHING Monty Oum does.

      • RedWolfe

He is quite amazing, I must say.

  • MosquitoLemon

Bought Atelier Meruru on a whim (actually it was because there weren’t any copies in my city for months, then one shows up all the sudden… figured I’d buy it before it becomes rare), and have been thoroughly enjoying it. I don’t exactly like any of the characters, but you can’t beat that classic gameplay.

    • Kurisu Makise

Good to know, it’s looking like Totori + will be my next Atelier though, as I’d rather play RPGs on the go. If all goes well I’m sure Meruru+ will be around the corner so I can experience that good game play. Though I’m a bit worried that Arland won’t capture me cast wise like Ayesha as. I actually genuinely liked everyone who showed up, which is a rare feat in an RPG. Assuming our tastes are similar, I may not enjoy the cast on Meruru myself =(

      • MosquitoLemon

The Atelier games are great for portable… which is why Annie is my favorite (also the characters are halfway decent).

        • Kurisu Makise

I’ll take half-way! Mixing on the go sounds awesome.

          • MosquitoLemon

Oh, and while I think most characters in Meruru would sicken you (if you’re playing for story, that is), there are some really awesome ones IMO. Hope they do a Vita version

            • Kurisu Makise

You mean you hope they localize the Vita version, it just came out in Japan (Meruru+). Ah, I hope the awesome guys hold up the story then. Ayesha just has such a fun cast, going backwards is a pain in that sense.

  • Josh

Whats everybody expecting from the NextBox?

    • Kurisu Makise

Fair answer? Something new. I believe the user experience will be really good on NextBox provided things in the rumours aren’t true. Sony’s got a good idea social media wise but Microsoft’s been leading with this the whole gen, it’s safe to conclude they (unless they fall off and miss the mark) will do it again. My biggest concern is games. Microsoft is pushing away the core gamer that’s heavily Japanese influenced, aka a good majority of Gematsu. If they can turn that around, especially if they’re trying to court Europe; a place where RPGs are thriving fairly well, what with the limited edition sets and all, plus FIFA and good deals; things should be interesting. However if they can’t pull it off, then I wouldn’t expect positive word of mouth (here).

      • Marco Tinè

Now that both the PS4 and Next Xbox are going to be PC based, there should be nothing to stop japanese developers from bringing their products on both consoles. I think Microsoft should take advantage of this somehow.

        • Kurisu Makise

Except for brand perception and all. If they’re a small house and don’t believe they’ll get a western release or western release isn’t a focus; they probably won’t shift. However if Microsoft works even harder this time around, perhaps.

          • Marco Tinè

Yes, it could be. Thanks for making me see the other side of the coin :)

I love the fact that it will have many launch titles because it’s easy to develop for and I imagine we will get more games from Sony first party studios than this gen. I mean we get 4 games from Naughty Dog this gen maybe with PS4 we can get 5-6 games from then in the lifespan of PS4.

I think I will buy PS4 really early, it has already blows me away especially inFAMOUS Second Son, I love the original inFAMOUS. Of course I will buy it at normal price. The original PS3 cost $800 in Indonesia when it came out lol. The WiiU also cost $550 and but are now $450.

      • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

‘Faster’ is the word I’m looking for to your first sentence…

Planning on buying a PS4 early as well… With PS+ and InFAMOUS Second Son, this would last me for a while…. Kind of a bummer when in countries, like Indonesia, Malaysia, etc, usually cost an arm or a leg to get new stuffs…. :(

But hey… If the PS4 is region free, you can import it for a cheaper price…

      • LordKaiser

Maybe a PS4 emulator on the PC is more possible than a PS3 emulator.

    • Elvick

Fanboys out the ass on that site. Look at them in the comments, spraying venom at each other.

      Yikes.

    • new_tradition

If this comes to fruition, I will be so happy. The lack of PS3 BC was basically my only real issue with the PS4.

  • Sae-Won Yoon

You know what I realize I miss about gaming? (and it’s going to sound weird)

    Kart Racers.
I dunno why. Yes I know there’s always Mario Kart and the like, but..Am I the only one who feels that maybe we need more cartoon adrenaline racing? Ironically at the same time, a bit of it cartoony nature sort of rang both nostalgic and that wondrous innocence.
(Modnation Racers was pretty cool, despite it being somewhat underrated now that i think about it.)

MK7 for all its novelty sort of…detracted itself, I mean c’mon, underwater propellers and gliders?
Again i Dunno, maybe it’s because I just had a dream about such things and its still clear in my head after waking up.

    • MosquitoLemon

Yeah, that’s the issue I had with Diddy Kong Racing… just let a kart racer be a kart racer.

      • Sae-Won Yoon

Diddy Kong Racing was my favorite game at the time. But alas, I respect opinions.

that game in particular worked because it you chose whatever vehicle before each race and stuck with until the end.
Unlike Mk7 which had your kart change mid-race, and thus felt….well, a little forced.

        • MosquitoLemon

Fair enough, they could have just had an underwater tunnel like Stunt Race FX, hahaha

    • Elvick

We’d get more if stupid fanboys would stop throwing around “rip-off” to every single one of them and acting like anything not Mario Kart is shitty because it’s a ripoff.

Even though Diddy Kong Racing and Crash Team Racing are better than every Mario Kart. And I mostly grew up on Mario Kart… :/ I still love it, and it’s still good, but it’s definitely not the premiere Kart racer of all time. And at the rate of improvement it’s making… it never will be in my lifetime.

I’d like more brawlers too, but they suffer the same fate as Kart racers.

      • Azuardo

Absolutely agree. MK makes hardly any advancement in each instalment. Yet Diddy and Crash made strides that MK should have taken notes from. It didn’t. Where the hell is the adventure mode that everyone wants in MK? We get the mission mode in MKDS (which was great!) and then it’s completely removed – not even advanced into an adventure – in the following games. I was hugely disappointed in MK7. Terrible online play too.
I had lots of fun online in MKWii – great for getting drunk with a mate and raging – but it’s really not offered much new with each game. They need to listen to the fans more.

        • Elvick

I liked MK Wii, but the balancing made me rage. The items are too “automatic” and there are too many going on in the game due to the increased number of racers. ):

I wish MK would step it up, I found MK7 funner than Wii and less annoying overall. Didn’t feel that the glider or underwater stuff made any difference. Level design didn’t really do much for it. I expected a little more from the alternative paths I guess.

      • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

I played Mario Kart 7 on the 3DS and enjoyed it… The level design is one of the best I’ve seen in a Kart Racing game(Which Nintendo is well-known for)… The only minor criticism I have is that it’s easy, even on 150cc…

Hell, Crash Team Racing gave me a hard time on beating bosses….. xD

    • DesmaX

Sonic All-Stars Racing is pretty good

      • Elvick

Transformed is fun. Just wish it supported cross play w/ PS3, not many have it on Vita, even though that port is great.

    • http://www.facebook.com/JaeWhy SasuleUchiha

Now that you mention it. Where the hell is Chocobo Racing 3D? Chocobo Racing is one of the best racing game I’ve played.

The official Deus Ex Facebook page announced a “world’s first look” at Deus Ex: Human Defiance tomorrow.

    Source – http://www.joystiq.com/2013/03/31/deus-ex-facebook-page-human-defiance-is-a-game-reveal-tomorrow/

Just like joystiq mentions, this could be a poor April Fools’ Joke. I suggest taking anything announced or posted as a rumor on the 1st with a bit of skepticism.

  • LordKaiser

Is this the reason for Phantasy Star Online 2 delay?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=7zT-uKYt_ME

    • Skerj

I sure hope so. I still need to get it from the JP PSN store so I can continue with my PC character, haven’t really played since September.

  • Elvick

Yay, Digimon Adventure 02 shipped. :D

I hope they release the rest of the series too. Bought the first Adventure when it came out too. How I’ve missed Digimon… <3

Now if someone would just pick up Cardcaptor Sakura anime so I can buy it, then I'd be happy for awhile. Already have all the manga.

  • LordKaiser

So It seems that Crytek wants Darksiders IP…. April fools?

    • http://twitter.com/GematsuZero Zero

I don’t think so. Crytek USA is made up of refugees from Vigil, the former THQ studio that created the Darksiders series and developed both games.

With that in mind, it just feels right to me. I’d like to see Darksiders back in the hands of the team who created it.

      • LordKaiser

But as i further saw it seems they just want it to shelve it and not use the IP for new games. If that’s the case I rather have Platinum games take it.
