Conception II: Guidance of Seven Stars and Muzzle’s Nightmare is on the way for a summer release on PS Vita and 3DS in Japan. Famitsu.com went up with its online preview of the game today. Here’s the summary (with additional magazine information from Sokuho@Hokanko).

Staff

  • Producer: Yuuichirou Saitou
  • Senior Producer: Yoshinori Terasawa
  • Character Design: Shinichirou Ootsuka (Savestudio)
  • Music: Masato Kouda

Characters

  • Protagonist: As the world’s only “Marebito,” he holds the ability to produce “Ether,” which uses the power of the stars. Because “Disciples” can purify monsters, he ventures to the den of monsters known as the “Labyrinth of Mortal Sin.” In battle, he wields dual swords.
  • Fuuko: A heroine and the first Disciple our hero encounters. She has a bright and brave personality, and is honest with anyone she meets. In battle, she uses a mysterious gun called the “Muzzle Breaker.”
  • Kurotsugu: The protagonist’s male class mate. He plays his role as the hero’s adviser, but tends to get a bit carried away.

General Details

  • The game is set in a fortress university city.
  • Players will fight with Star Children created between the protagonist and heroine.
  • The volume of the main scenario is double that of the first game. There are also 10 times more characters.
  • Screenshots where the “Star Children” are born seem the same as the previous game.
  • The dungeons are called “Muzzle Circles,” and the one that was made first is called “Labyrinth of Mortal Sin.” Plus, there are seven more based on the seven deadly sins. So eight dungeons, it seems.

Dungeons

  • Make Star Children, get ready for battle, and capture dungeons.
  • A heroine can now accompany the protagonist into dungeons, but it’s unknown whether you can take multiple heroines.
  • The battle system of the first game (where what position you were in when you attacked / were attacked mattered) is still present in Conception II, although it’s supposedly going to be more strategic (further detail was not shared).
  • In comparison to the first game, the party has become even more lively, and labyrinths will change each time you enter them.

Conception II: Guidance of Seven Stars and Muzzle’s Nightmare is currently 65 percent complete. It’s due out for PlayStation Vita and 3DS this summer in Japan.

Oh man that art is sick and I love the setting.

  • TwinTails

I don’t know what to make of this, the fact that you have to keep getting her pregnant to produce illegitimate child soldiers to fight in your personal army weirds me out alot, but intrigues me. Maybe if this game gets localized I’ll be sure to check it out. I guess a game can be good no matter what concept is behind it.

    • Budgiecat

Do the women really get ‘pregnant’ though? I mean, I played a bit of the first game, and the all the ‘copulation scenes’ seemed to be were black female silouettes in front of a blue background to the sounds of a saxaphone and then 10 seconds later, an egg hatches.

      an egg??

      • Hinataharem

They dont get pregnant. The protag and a girl have their souls come into contact (not sexually) and the result is a star child

        • TwinTails

Thanks for clearing that up Hinata. :D

          • Budgiecat

Meh, I liked it better when I thought they were actually humping like rabbits…

  • ShinAsura(新阿修羅)

Love the character design, especially the female

  • Solomon_Kano

You don’t know how much I want to see this localized. With the stuff Aksys has picked up in the last year, this sounds like it’s right up their alley.

    Come on, come on! Localization!

Even if you’re not interested in it, seeing something like this localized would be nice just to mix up the market a bit.

lord knows the Vita needs more games…and a U.S./EU price cut….

  • fyi1191

If we can take more than one heroine with us. I don’t think anyone would care about them children anymore.

For my reaction to the first one is “It’s so weird and ridiculous that I want to play it badly…”, I’m taking the sequel most likely…

If it’s getting localized then God bless whoever doing it…

  • weyou

Where is the cool protagonist from the first game?

  • Mar Mar

Never heard of this before but does it have anything to do with Persona/Devil Survivor? The in-game UI looks kinda familiar …. and it’s coming for Vita YAY!

      No.

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

As Dylan said, no relation to Persona, Devil Survivor, or anything Atlus-branded. But I can see what you’re saying with that battle system screenshot. The UI style looks very similar.

    i don’t particularly like da Heroine’s design.

  • CirnoTheStrongest

Since they don’t even create kids the normal way this would have been the perfect candidate for yuri relationships, but of course that’s completely avoided -_-
