Ubisoft resumes list Assassin’s Creed IV

Next Assassin's Creed expected for Wednesday reveal.

The next Assassin’s Creed will be called Assassin’s Creed IV, according to the LinkedIn resumes of three Ubisoft employees.

One of the staffers is an audio artist on “Assassin’s Creed 4“; another is a UI artist, again, on “Assassin’s Creed 4“; and the final staffer is a playtester on “Assassin’s Creed IV,” which he lists as ‘work in progress’ (we take it he’s referring to the game’s title) and for a 2013 release.

A new Assassin’s Creed is expected to be revealed—at least, to attending media—during a press event tomorrow.

Thanks, VideoGamer.

Anyone really surprised? The series has become another COD.

Not at all. You dont know what youre talking about. They have several studios which are working several years for one game. And ac 3 is very different from ac 2,1 etc. Even revelations which takes place in istanbul is different from brotherhood and2.

So does COD, in the number of studios, setting and even the very minor gameplay changes, but as always, the overall feel of the game is always the same as last year’s game.

COD is ALWAYS the same. Every damn time. not a single thing changes. Well thats my opinion…

There has been a AC game out every year so far… its a COD thing. Many games are re using the same engine and doing this like Final Fantasy and ext.. they are selling us the same game over and over.. no new IPs until next gen and than the same happens.
Remember when the 2nd L4D came out and people got mad? Why is it that people don’t get mad anymore? why accept this now? its the same BS yet people eat it up. I rather have a huge time gap with better games than a very small one and get the same thing over and over.
I don’t know about you but I refuse to keep bending over.

I know what I am talking about. I can see very clear : ]

You’re right, it has become like the cod series. Milking people of there money title after title. Sad.

I said it would become another COD when they announced Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood years ago.

I don’t agree with the comments here. This is just my opinion, you don’t have to agree.

I think the AC series is of high quality. They release solid games, with a good story, interesting characters, quality visuals, great music, etc.

The last CoD I really enjoyed was Modern Warfare 4. It felt like the series got worse after that game in my opinion. I haven’t played it, but Black Ops 2 seemed like the first time the series really tried to do something new in years.

I feel like the AC series has improved with each entry. (Revelations is debatable.)

In AC3, Ubisoft decided to change up a number of things — introduce a new character, a new time setting, it was almost a bit too much of a change for many peoples taste. I applauded them for doing so though, not allowing a series to just simply continue.

It’s one of the better continuing series that we have in video games today. I’ve grown to really enjoy it, and there are lots of questions to be answered after the ending in AC3.

I’ll have to disagree with one point on COD. Prior to BO2, the original Black Ops saw Treyarch introduce a lot of new multiplayer modes, mechanics, and things like the theater and such. I loved 4, hated WaW and the other MWs, but BO turned out very well. Now you may not have enjoyed all of the things it did differently, but it definitely switched it up. MW3 undid all of those changes, while BO2 brought even more than before, but BO was different.

I’m with you on AC though. The original left something to be desired for me, but they’ve improved or changed enough with each game to keep the series fresh. I do wish the settings would change more drastically, but it made sense for the narrative. All in all, this is a series I don’t mind seeing every year — even if I don’t necessarily buy into it every year.

I should have included Black Ops as well. Good point,

Only one I really enjoyed was 2. 3 was okay. but the rest I just could not play to save my life. This series is very hit or miss with me.

      Agree whole heartedly.
