Square Enix manager tweets Noctis perfume
Will the prince return at PlayStation Meeting?

Hidemi Matsuzuka, General Manager of the Square Enix figure brand Play Arts Kai, posted an interesting tweet today.

“Prince,” he said on Twitter, with the following image attached.

That’s Noctis eau de toilette perfume. Noctis, as you may know, is the prince-protagonist in Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a game that’s been largely quiet since January 2011.

Before this, there’s also been Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Lightning perfumes.

Is this a sign of Final Fantasy Versus XIII re-appearing at PlayStation Meeting in New York City on Wednesday? FF-Reunion believes. We believe.

(Don’t get your hopes up. We also believe in unicorns.)

Square is getting pretty good at trolling.

Anyone who thinks Versus XIII is going to make an appearance on the 20th is going to be seriously disappointed. .

Ya see, Versus was never really a game to begin with. The entire thing was a long, drawn out marketing campaign for Square Enix’s new perfume. Y’all fell right into their trap!

Mitsuzuka is just keeping people from finding out about his secret plans for a Developer line of Play Arts figurines. You think that Kojima figurine was a one off? Mark my words, we’re gonna be seeing more in the future. I bet they’re working on the Nomura one right NOW

      You really think so? lol

The Kojima figure was pretty cool though.

Lightning was the first female protagonist? You’ve already forgotten about Cloud, Squall, Zidane, Tidus, and Vaan! Okay seriously, Terra was the first female Final Fantasy protagonist… and the story revolves around her.
