A bunch of technical stuff. 'Nuff said.

Video game leaks website VGLeaks has posted a supposed detailed report on the GPU found inside the next Xbox. There’s all sorts of technical terms in there that we don’t understand, so we’ll leave it to our tech expert commenters to decipher.

Judging by the 12 SC’s, the 512KB of L2 Cache and the 32MB of ESRAM, I can safely tell you that this graphics card can render graphics.

      How much graphics?

      • Shadow

You know, ones that render polygons.

          How many graphics?

          • DesmaX

Enough to render a game, I guess

Right now I think it’s like PS4 = 1.8 tflops, 720 = 1.2 tflops. WiiU is well under 1 tflop. It doesn’t matter too much because all multiplatform games will be developed to look identical on both next-gen consoles. It’s Sony’s first party stuff that will blow everyone away

(Basically the same scenario as current gen, except PS4 ports won’t be inferior since it won’t use the hard-to-utilize Cell)

      That’s not the sytem Tflops.

The 1.8 and 1.2 figures are for the GPUs of each system.

    No info on the manufacturer?

Whenever I think about the next Xbox’s setup, I’m reminded of how Sony had the XDR/GDDR3 split going in PS3. I understand that it shouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as XDR/GDDR3 split but in terms of raw amount of bandwidth, I hope the DDR3/ESRAM combo doesn’t choke things up for the platform. I do think it was a very nice cost saving measure though and of course. Time will tell if using a good work around or brute force will net the best results. The other specs for the graphics card seems solid. I’m curious if it will have any advantages over PS3’s graphic card at all despite being lower in Tflops.

So its basically half the performance of a GTX 580, not bad

The Speak and graphics means nothing, if the system don’t have any good exclusives
