From what I hear the PS4 will continue to use Blu-Ray, and manufacturing it in Ps4 will NOW cost SONY little to nothing. they can increase the PS4 Blu-Ray Disc quality to read 100 GB Quad Layer discs or more.

Why do I get the feeling that PS4 will be the Next console to sell well like the PS2, and features Full BC on all models.

I expect insane visuals from sport/racing and adventure games next gen! I can’t wait to see these games.

Open World games like Watch dogs and The Witcher 3 will Look and hopefully perform great for what they are.

Should be a glorious Gen :)

I’m not the best person to ask. I’ve only played GT briefly and I didn’t care for it. It’s a serious, realistic racing sim and those aren’t really the kind of racers I enjoy.

By this team wanting to call their game GT, that tells us that it’ll be a high quality racing sim as well. Making it a spinoff wouldn’t work if Polyphony just didn’t want their series’ name on this game at all. So it’s the brand as well as the expectation that comes with it. GT and Forza are the big rival sims, so I can see why Polyphony would be protective of what games hold their brand.

As far as racing goes, I prefer the more arcade kind. NFSU being my favorite, the pre-Paradise Burnout and Criterion’s NFS Most Wanted behind it. Bizarre’s last game was an arcade racer, too. It was really good. Liverpool’s Wipeout series is fun too. But GT isn’t really my thing, too serious for me.

No, no, Sony’s racer is said to be similar to PGR. MS’ is actually called PGR.

Not a big fan of Racing games(I did enjoyed the NFS Underground series though), what makes GT so special compared to the other racers btw? Is it the brand?

Could have named it as a spinoff instead if they wanted to brand it as GT…

So, on Playstation we have a racer similar to PGR, and on Xbox we have a new PGR, both being developed by highly talented individuals who used to work on PGR…

Seriously the time we have to wait for finally seeing what’s going on is much too long! Since the announcement that “something” will happen on February 20th the days got longer and longer.

If it is indeed the Playstation 4 I sure hope that it’s still affordable. Seeing that the Wii U already costs a whooping 350 bucks my hopes are slim. But it’s certainly good to see that various devs already work on new games (Especially CD Project Red). :)
Can’t wait to see what they all whip up!

I don’t know about the rest of the series, but the original PGR on Xbox was fantastic. Bizarre’s later racer, Blur, was also fantastic. So between ex-Bizarre and Criterion staff, this new PGR should be brilliant.

Interest piqued. Also, it makes me laugh that PGR’s main man is cooking up Sony’s next racer while MS is cooking up the next PGR.

With staff from Bizarre and Liverpool, I’m practically guaranteed to enjoy whatever this racer Sony has is. It does kinda suck that them wanting to call it a GT means that it’ll be a more serious racer, but Bizarre, Talbot, and Liverpool can’t be a bad combo.
