Not shoving it down our throats? If it’s bundled in with the system, we have to pay for it, regardless of whether we plan to use it or let it gather dust in the garage. That is the very definition of shoving it down people’s throats. With the PS2 and PS3 cameras, I can choose not to buy it unless I want to.

Count me in on liking this idea. Plus it solves the “headset in every box” issue. Now if we can get a full Skype app to take advantage of said camera, tight integration on PSN (Even though I’d never actually video chat, unless it’s with friends or something xD), and the future is bright. I’m surprised people are flailing the “No more motion control” thing so quick. What about headtracking for Gran Turismo and stuff? Move your head a little bit to get a nice view in first person mode, sounds alright. Tracking hands for quick gestures to your squad mates in a Shooter is also an option. Or what about in an RTS, moving your units and such, there’s options which can augment the controller experience.

Well if you are required? to sign in with it, I would say that’s kinda forcing it down your throat right? Don’t get me wrong, it appeals to some people, just not me :-) also I don’t think I could play a game and video chat at the same time. I prefer people not talking to me when I’m playing a game, kinda distracting haha.

If true: In before ignorant people all over the internets say Sony are copying Microsoft.

If not: I hope there’s at least a better PS Eye, because the one used on PS3 isn’t cutting it. Especially for augmented reality. I don’t care if I have to buy it separately.

Sony’s had a camera since PS2, and almost all of this generation on PS3.

It’s not a big deal. They don’t shove it down your throat. If they did, you wouldn’t be acting like this is something new for PlayStation.

And who said video chat would be with random people? Implying you couldn’t video chat with… friends instead. Silly argument.

People are going to end up being horribly disappointed and it’s only going to be their fault. Seriously, at this point, with all these rumors, I dont see why they aren’t also giving you a Toyota Prius as a pre-order gift so you can pick up a PS4 day one. Come on. I highly doubt the PS4 is going to pack in every Sony product under the sun.
