If the PS4 launch games are as lackluster as the PS3′s, then I definitely
won’t be buying one on release.

Ahem, In-game actions are always identical to the international versions ;)
The only thing that’s different is confirming with maru (O) and cancelling with batsu (X). Jumping is still performed on X ^^

I’ve always preferred to confirm with O but Jumping with O, eh feels like Super Nintendo which kinda throws my game off after PS1/PS2, certain PSP titles, and of course PS3 stuff. I could get used to it though but most times the LEs are pretty expensive too xD So I doubt I could wait, even when exposed to the potential opportunity this time around.

I second that. If I wanna play my PS3 games I will do so on my current system. Thanks to digital audio encoders and multiple HDMI ins on TVs/monitors it’s no biggie having two systems connected at once.

It won’t be over 400 bucks, Sony can’t afford to slap a higher price tag on their machine, no matter how advanced it might be. Most consumers ain’t gonna like it if it’s priced north of 400.
I haven’t made up my mind yet but I will probably wait for a Japanese LE one before splashing out, as I love them sexy Japanese special designs and by now /been using a Japanese PS3 since December 2k9) I can’t confirm with X anymore, gotta be O ^^

i’ll still keep my PS3(just like my PS2)

but man could have been awesome if it was BC.

That’s why I said “draconian memory card account lock”, hey wanna use more than one account? well.. Nope, at least they could make the reset process more streamlined without having to watch the Discover video every time you factory reset.

Yeah, exactly. The option is there for people that want to play PS3 games on their PS4 but cut down on the cost to not include BC. As long as the digital version aren’t expensive, I don’t see a problem.

Not really, the most efficient is to have one device that plays it all.

I value b/c, but it’s not the deciding factor for me. I’ll buy the PS4 regardless. But I’d like to be able to free up space on my shelf, and not have to use two HDMI cables for two things… when the new one should just take over completely from the old one.
