I think SE has stated that they just want to get the game working reasonably well on PS3 before they start thinking about getting it on other consoles. But yeah, I can definitely see this happening in a year or two…

  • Potionzmaster

The PS3 version’s framerate is pretty low..
Technical issues aside, the game looks phenominal. The scale of the surroundings is enormous! I would buy it, if it was an offline Final Fantasy (without the monthly fees).

Perfect way to use a controller as fast as keyboard in mmorpgs they found a really good method, however only one huge problem remains why MMORPGS should stay on PC’s.

“Talking to other players” Keyboard is a must otherwise it will take you 2 days to even get anywhere with the PS3′s controller keyboard, uless you plug in a keyboard to your ps3 and that it is compatible but that ruins the whole idea of using the controller then, just use the keyboard for hotkeys+ talking.

I spent a while on console for FFXI and it worked fine for keyboard and controller. I just used my keyboard for macros and typing and my controller for everything else, and it worked out pretty seamless too. I never had trouble.
I honestly appreciated the ability to use a gamepad, because I played the same way when I moved to PC on it.

The PS3 version sure does have a ways to go. But the game looks great.

Checking out the videos now. I’m also downloading the benchmark.

If the Tos will allow me to upload my PC running the benchmark, I most likely will. ^^

You have some nice hardware in your PC. ^^

      • Disable rendering of objects when not visible.• Use low-detail models on distant objects to increase performance.• Cache LOD data only when necessary.

I’m just curious but how much does the performance improve through enabling these features, and is the LOD swapping noticeable?

      • ShinAsura

I hear lod makes a great improvement , I haven’t tried it though

  • PrinceHeir

    looking good

Catching up on the videos. I recognize all the names of the places they show in the tour of Eorzea video. It’s amazing how much they have improved many of the zones.

  • Solomon_Kano

    It’s beautiful.

  • ShinAsura

    Updated my drivers, better result

    • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

Nice. My score was around 5000. I had Chrome open though, with like 25 active tabs. I might try it again later, but I was able to run the alpha version at max just fine.
