The 'Unveiled Edition' of the 3DS original coming soon to consoles.

In November, a Korean Game Rating Board mark revealed Resident Evil: Revelations, initially launched on 3DS in February last year, is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Today, Xbox 360 achievements surfaced on Exophase further confirms these leaks, as well as it’s new title—Resident Evil: Revelations Unveiled Edition

Stay tuned. An official announcement shouldn’t be far off.

Thanks, NeoGAF.

Hmm. I hope it’s not a PSN/XBL release. Would rather disc.

I’m not fan of digital either.

It has 50 achievements/ 51 trophies incl. Platinum. Only games released on disc (and digitally) have that amount. PSN-only have 12-14 Trophies without Platinums. So it’s safe to say that any game with more than 14 Trophies is a disc based release unless it’s an exclusive (Stranger’s Wrath comes to mind as a PSN-only title).

While I’m excited for an HD release I’m still kinda mad at Capcom for omitting a Vita version, which really should have been a no-brainer -_-

Pretty sure Okami HD has the full 51 trophies, and that’s digital only.

        • DrForbidden

Uhh, I have Okami HD on disc…

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

It was released on disc as well -_-

Well, to be fair, that was only in Japan. It was digital-only everyone else.

Point is, the amount of achievements/trophies don’t really pertain to whether or not a game gets a disc release. Achievements/trophies pertain to the game’s size nowadays. Smaller, 4-5 hour games will have a notably tiny set compared to a longer game. Resident Evil: Revelations, being a 10-hour average game, will most definitely receive a full set. Stranger’s Wrath is at average a 15-hour game. Full set.

Anyhow, considering this is Resident Evil, and a recent one at that, I think it will see a disc release. But yeah, achievement/trophy amount don’t say jack anymore about whether a game is disc or download. =)

Any info on Vita release Sal? Can you get in touch with CAPCOM about that anytime?

              • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

I could. But each time I’ve tried, I’ve been fed the same spiel. “We don’t comment on rumors and speculation, blah blah.”

            • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

              I beg to differ :P
Ni no Kuni is an 80 hour game at average, yet it only features 34 Trophies.

              http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/ni-no-kuni-eu/trophies/

I have yet to see a game offering 50 Trophies (those always include Platnums) and being download-only. Hence I stay by my hypothesis that the amount of Trophies can be an indicator whether a game receives a full physical release. Ôkami was released in Japan on disc and the Tophies were conceptualized in Japanese, so my argument is still valid.
              In Revelation’s case there are 50 Trophies + Platinum = physical release ( ̄▽ ̄)

            • DrForbidden

Minor point, but Asia got a physical release as well.

      • DrForbidden

I don’t think the number of trophies is a good way of gauging whether a game will be digital-only or not. Some games have few trophies because they are short or simple. Their being short or simple also increases the odds they will be digital-releases.

Ultimately, I don’t see why a digital release MUST have fewer trophies or why a physical release MUST meet a minimum number of trophies.

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

There are guidelines for digital-only games. They may not have more than 200 (now changed to 400) GS which equals 1 Gold, 3 Silver, 8 Bronze Trophies.
The simpler games you are referring to still have a Platinum (1000GS). There are a few exceptions, as I mentioned earlier, but the rules are what I’ve written above.

    freaking ace!!!!!!

can we get Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D too??

then again i prefer a new fully dedicated Mercenaries game with RE6 mechanics(but more refined) and all characters from RE0-RE6 + CV, UC, DC, and OR.

  • Prodigy-X

Probably coming to PlayStation 3 as well.

it would be great if it was on vita too :)

  • Bobo Fango

A 3ds game ported to console? Lol No thanks.

  • Gigus

I want it on the Vita!

  • rockman29

Yet it doesn’t release on Vita.

*cue comments, rightly so, how CAPCOM is a bunch of ‘tards*

  • Acidicsam

Own it on 3DS, will buy on 360.

    Yes. It is /that good.

  • Bloodios

Finally! A Resident Evil title that is worth getting. However, I do hope it isn’t just some lazy upscaled port with absolutely no improvement to the textures whatsoever…

I hate to be a downer, but I think this is going to be just like Okami HD.

Which means the west will likely only get a downloadable version. I hope I’m wrong, but I have a feeling this might turn into a trend. (Especially with Capcom.)
