Nintendo has detailed the first multiplayer mode in Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, due out for 3DS on March 24 in North America, March in Europe, and March 20 in Japan.

The game will feature local and online multiplayer modes, as well as Download Play capabilities.

Up to four players can journey into the “ScareScraper,” Dark Moon‘s multiplayer mode. In “Hunter Mode,” each player controls a different color Luigi and must work together to hunt down ghosts and clear each floor of a haunted tower before the clock strikes zero. Depending on how well the team performs, players can earn bonuses and upgrades. Players can choose the number of floors they play, ranging from 10 to 15, and can adjust the difficulty for both beginner and experienced players. At the top of each tower are boss battles. Fallen players can be revived by their teammates.

This is honestly beyond awesome. My best friend and I used to always play the first game together, so we’re gonna have some great times with this.

Mixed feelings …some games do not need it.. and this might actually be one of them. LM was my very first Gamecube game and it holds a special place in my heart.. got it with my cube day one after waiting in line from 12am to 6am at Walmart. Yeah.. hmmm… the alone feeling in these games counts big time so hmm..
