Rockstar sequel arriving later than planned.

Rockstar Games will release Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17, 2013, the publisher has announced.

The company originally planned to ship the title this spring. It apologizes for the delay, but promises that the team at Rockstar North are “working very hard” to make the game “all it can be.”

Grand Theft Auto V continues to push the series forward in new ways; Rockstar North are creating our deepest, most beautiful and most immersive world yet,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We are very excited for people to learn more about the game in the coming months.”

Grand Theft Auto V brings the series back to Los Santos in what Rockstar describes is its “biggest, most dynamic and most diverse open world” to date. The game stars protagonist trio Michael, a professional ex-con, Trevor, a psychopathic maniac, and Franklin, a former street gangster, all plotting their own chances of survival and success.

    WOW!!
Same day as Killzone VITA ..

And now Agent looking more and more likely to be pushed off to next gen… Or maybe it’s already been scrapped? Wouldn’t be surprising, considering that it sits at the top of the list of PS3’s exclusive vaporware…

Back to the topic, I hope the extra time they gained from this means that the game will be bug-free and perform solidly by the time it launches.

Imagine all the developers who pushed their games to september because they got scared of the spring release of GTA5 :3 and now GTA5 trolls them xD

Better not hurry for this game,… I prefer some more months if the game is better that way.

Well, that’s exactly the case here. It was supposed to come out this spring, but it was pushed to late summer to make the game the best it can be.

I hope this hurts Splinter Cell Blacklist sales so next time they understand not to push Rainbow Six Patriots back.

This release date is interesting to me. Why? It’s because of the next gen console rumors. Many of them have said that one or both consoles could be launched holiday 2013.

September 17 is not that far away from the holiday season. With such a big game coming out, I’m sure Rockstar expects the game to sell well throughout the holidays.

I’m guessing they either have inside information, or they don’t expect a possible new console launch to slow anything down? It’s all very interesting.

The game will sell well, no doubt….. It’s just Rockstar taking advantage of this gen with an already established consumers on both platforms before next gen arrives…
