God of War: Ascension Super Bowl TV spot teaser [Update]

Kratos to get the spotlight when the Ravens and 49ers battle.

Sony’s Game Day 2013 teaser posted earlier this week is for a God of War: Ascension commercial set to debut during Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday, February 3. The publisher posted a 35-second teaser of the TV spot on YouTube today, still teasing something (related to the game, of course) for February 1. Watch it below.

Update: As it turns out, Sony will not show the ad on television during the Super Bowl, but rather show it online during CBSSports.com‘s online stream.

“Produced by Imaginary Forces and set to a haunting arrangement of Ellie Goulding’s ‘Hanging On’ (from her recent album Halcyon), the ad represents one of the most ambitious promotions in PlayStation history,” said Sony in a press release.

“Fitting, given that God of War: Ascension—the latest project from Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio’s (SCE WWS) Santa Monica Studio—is an exploration into the beginnings of Kratos, one of gaming’s most iconic characters.”
