Dante enters the Limbo subway and demonic TV station.

Eurogamer has posted over 7 minutes of exclusive gameplay footage from DmC Devil May Cry. You’ll see 3 minutes of Mission 8, where Dante is stuck in a Limbo-world version of a subway system, and 4 minutes of Mission 9, where Dante enters an upside-down version of the game’s Raptor TV network. Watch the footage below.

Not fluid, i can’t feel the gameplay.

  • EspadaKiller

Capcom is so gonna regret letting Ninja Theory develop this game, hope this game sells like shit so Capcom will wake up their bloody idea.

    • Skerj

It’ll likely sell well and score high because of the controversy, ensuring another Ninja Theory entry (trying to brace you for the impact). Story seems interesting enough and I actually dig some of the things they’ve done with the environments. I just wish the damn combat were as fluid as the proper titles, a lot of the animations run on for WAY too long.

      • Budgiecat

It’ll only sell because of the name. Not like Heavenly Sword or Enslaved sold anything

  • Zuhri69

Regardless, I’m looking forward to the story. It seems pretty solid.

is it just me or dante from previous games are much faster than this one,,,

    • Budgiecat

This is running at half the framerate on consoles. Only PC version will be proper 60fps

Or so the director says it will feel like 60fps on consoles…. Tried the demo and felt hiccups here and there, generally the combat is less smooth than what I played in the old games…

        • Skerj

Yarr the demo isn’t even running at a stable 30fps, I caught a few frame hitches too. I’ll be playing this one on PC because I played Enslaved and Heavenly Sword and wouldn’t hold my breath for solid framerates otherwise.

          • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

Solid framerates? I was hoping for better gameplay…

My money goes to Platinum and Konami to satisfy my thirst for high-octane action. 60 fps on consoles =), 0 fps on PC as it’s developed by Platinum ;)
the action sequences should be mind-blowing judging by Platinum’s pedigree.

              • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

My money will go to Platinum and Konami later… Got other games up on my list….

Still bumped about Bayonetta 2 exclusive fiasco and their PR though… :(

                • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Well, quite honestly the only ones to blame for Bayo 2’s exclusivity are either SEGA (who prefer their own mediocre brands over Bayo) and Sony/MS for not negotiating a similar deal with Platinum. Sony I can understand, after that shamelessly fucked-up port by SEGA, but MS?! Guess they thought it’s better to put XBL gold members’ money to better use, like securing timed-exclusivity for DLC or Minecraft.

Without Nintendo there would be no Bayonetta 2, simple as that.

                  • http://twitter.com/RaiuLyn Raiu

Can’t blame SEGA for trying to stay afloat since they’ve been hit financially bad(Their overseas branch got restructured some time ago)… Agreed on Sony/MS too..

Bayonetta 2 wouldn’t exist without Nintendo… True but that is a major blow to the fans who played and loved the original… That and their PR about “Getting the game to as many people as possible” is just plain BS and literally makes no sense now that it sticks to Nintendo platform and the original Bayonetta already established the fanbase elsewhere…

The payoff of this sequel Nintendo is gambling on is hard to predict at this point… I’m interested to see how this goes…

                    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

what Platinum told the press was the usual PR BS, that’s true. How do you expand an audience by limiting it to one fledgling platform. doesn’t make sense to me.

But it’s still true that w/o Ninty a sequel would not exist as other publishers did not think it would be profitable for them. it’s sad but true. As a PS3/Vita only owner I feel shafted anyways, as SEGA’s Bayo port was quite bad but I’m still saddened to see all the Bayo fans alienated by Platinum, as they agreed on the exclusivity deal after all.

      • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

proper 60fps if your rig can handle it. the way they stated it they implied that the PC version will run at 60+fps on any PC. I dare you play it at the highest resolution and quality settings with a 5 years old rig above 30fps -_-

    • MosquitoLemon

It’s just you, go back and play the older ones and you’ll see.

  • RedWolfe

I’ve been consistently impressed by the art style of the game and am actually (for the first time) more excited to see how the story pans out than the gameplay, heh.

From the demo, my main gripe was the controls due to the fact that the old game’s controls are so hard-wired into my brain at this point, but it’s not something I can’t get used to by just playing.

I also wish Dante still turned into an actual demon when he goes into DT. I always thought that was one of the cooler aspects of the old games.

    • MosquitoLemon

Yeah same here. There’s a launcher button rather than the whole lock-on thing, so it feels different (same with MVC3 vs MVC2). The gameplay is there though, it’s the dialogue that blows.

      • RedWolfe

I didn’t even have an issue with the dialogue so much (yet) but yeah, that dedicated button for the launcher is throwing me off during my combos.

        Oh well.

        • MosquitoLemon

re: why I don’t like the dialogue – I don’t have a problem with people swearing, even in excess (see Pulp Fiction). But between the demo and a few of the trailers, it sounds like it was written by a 10 year old who found a dictionary of curse words. It’s more embarrassing than it is edgy.

I’m not looking for stellar dialogue, since I usually skip cutscenes in games, but dang, he uses at least one infantile epithet for every demon he meets in-game.

    • Skerj

Yeah it’s also pretty stupid that there are 2 dodge buttons (seriously what freaking point does the other serve!?) and no lock on.

  • PrinceHeir

like Lords of Shadows, this gonna be a good game, but not a good Devil May Cry game.

im excited for the Vergil gameplay though :P

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

I’ll wait till it drops to $30.

  • Guest

On the second video he said that part reminds him of a scene from the actual Devil May Cry game…. I don’t see how it even relates to that scene.. o.O
