CyberConnect2 developing three original games
Hiroshi Matsuyama teases new works in New Years greeting.

CyberConnect2, developer of the Naruto and .hack series, is developing three original titles, company CEO Hiroshi Matsuyama has revealed in a New Years video greeting.

The studio is also working on Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, the former of which will launch worldwide in March and the latter due this year in Japan.

    After finishing Asura’s Wrath not long ago, I’m all for CC2 working on more original titles.

        The quality of their games is mind blowing. I never played the broken bond (360 exclusive Naruto game) but I’ve heard it’s the only one that could match CC2′s quality. I’ve still never seen a more faithful recreation of Konahagakure in any medium besides the original Manga/Anime than in the original UNS for PS3. It was a PS3 exclusive but it featured a fully exploratory 3D modeled re-creation of Konahagakure as the game’s hub. They ditched it for the sequels because it cost lots of time to model. Still, UNS1, the PS3 exclusive, is by far my favorite entry in the series as the Ougi (UJ) are the most spectacular, OTT action I’ve ever seen in video games.

        Simply watch them on youtube and you’ll see what I mean.
        I love CC2 and will support them as long as they create games.

      I have nothing against CC2, and MAtsuyama seems like a pretty nice guy, but in all fairness, yet another Naruto game doesn’t really contribute much to the continued improvement of Japanese games. Original IPs, yes. Tie-ins from other properties in manga and anime, not so much.
