Xseed talk a big mouth. They’re great, don’t get me wrong, but they Stand Behind as much as they Shout From Afar (Earth Seeker, anyone?). Outside of how blatantly “niche” this series would be in the west also, recognize that there’s not a chance in hell either that the 3DS title or this one would come through unscathed. And not just a little, but what would, for those of us who see the product as it is in full (and are of course the slim market who want it), absolutely destroy the experience.
Localization of games like this are a lot of times worse than just being subjected to playing them in a language you don’t understand (or just the import-waiting period); western censorship is designed to just create a more forumlaic aesthetic— except the reason games like this and Mugen Souls and any other promiscuous game is neat and desirable is because, well, they’re promiscuous. No matter how you go at that, whether you’re turned on or you find it comical or you just enjoy the breath from experiencing something so unique, the idea that that, which is the entirely main component in this case, is slashed is just nonsense, and a total ruination of a genuine art-product and intimate experience.
