One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 coming to Europe

We're waiting on you, Namco Bandai Games America.

December 10, 2012 / 10:18 AM EDT / (@salromano)

One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 will come to Europe for PlayStation 3 during summer 2013, Namco Bandai Games Europe has announced. The PS Vita version, currently Japan-exclusive, was not announced for Europe.

Developed by Tecmo Koei and Omega Force, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2 follows the Straw Hat Pirates as they set sail for new adventures in the New World story arc. The game will include new stages, such as Skypiea (we previously labeled this as Sky Island), and new characters, like Eneru (we previously called him Enel).

Additionally, Namco Bandai announced One Piece: Pirate Warriors, launched worldwide for PlayStation 3 earlier this year, has sold over 1.2 million copies. To celebrate, the European publisher is offering a discount on the first game and all of its download content via the PlayStation Store from December 12 to January 9.

Was there any doubt? I’ll definitely pick it up with ToX – what a nice summer I will have!

Wouldn’t the romanization of Eneru be ‘Enel’ or ‘Ener’, depending on how they’ll want it to be translated?

That’s what I figured when I posted those screenshots last night. But in the Namco Bandai Europe press release, they call him Eneru. So that’s what we’re calling him.

      • usagi_san

Either way, he’s still going to get a beating, anyway. :D

        Thanks for the clarification.

    Eneru hope hes playable

Considering some of the later arcs, I can see characters such as Buggy and Mr. 3 being playable, as well as Bon Clay and possibly Crocodile.

Europe is getting love from japan, finally =D

    • FaithlessMr

Still doesn’t make up for the 90′s, though :/

(I mean, for all the amazing jrpgs we missed back then. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 90′s and I wish every year in gaming was like 1998 and 1999 ;_;)

      • Blaz

        You’re also a mod here oh snap!(jk)
Yeah, i feel you, they still have a lot of catching up to do.

        • FaithlessMr

Eheh you’re from Gametrailers I assume?

          • Blaz

Gametrailers, PSN, 3DS errywhere, same country too.

            • FaithlessMr

Ahahah srsl? So you’re Joshi from my 3DS’s friend list?

(I’m sorry if I’m getting you confused with someone else ;_;)

              • Blaz

                yes yes it’s me fatio

                • FaithlessMr

The avatar gave it away :P Also, fatio? ahah

I still haven’t even played the first one. Is it any good? I kinda let it fall off the radar because it was digital only…

It gets repetitive fast. You have to have a passion or at least a liking for the DW games or OP. It is a fun game but frequent slow-downs somwhow mar the experience. I enjoyed it, especially as playing as Ace is a blast.

      • Pyrofrost

Agreed. While all games are repetitive one way or another, Musou games are generally the same from beginning to end for every game. However, FotNS and OP does change things up a bit unlike the rest. It really isn’t much different.

If you are into OP though, I highly suggest the game. In my opinion, Omega Force really does the OP storyline great justice, and it’s one of the best OP games to date.

        • Raiyu

Thanks guys. Think I’m going to pick it up and give it a go, not much a musou fan but I like One Piece so I should enjoy it.

          • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

In fact I never played a Musou game before PW. Bought OP:PW because I like OP and immediately afterwards I downloaded the Musou Next demo on my Vita. So you could say that OP introduced me to Omega Force’s main series ^^

  • xMCXx

    You can call him Enel.^^
Even though it should be Ener, since it comes from Energy.

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

As I mentioned earlier, Namdai calls him Eneru in the press release.

      • xMCXx

Yeah, that’s his name written in Katakana.
It’s probably the official spelling, then.

Strange… The thumbnails don’t match the actual screenshots for this gallery :x

  • InfernoCommander

I just finished re-watching the Skypiea arc. Funny thing is, Eneru doesn’t kill anyone(with a name). All the characters he shocked survived. Ololol. Excited for this nonetheless.

  • Kobracon

Hope some villains will be playable this time round.

Damn these people are rushing. I haven’t got the first one yet. Man I bet they are going to make a 3rd one after this <__<

    • Tsubamegaeshi

If they’ve improved the game (going from box/hallway like battlefields to more open battlefields like other DW games is a huge plus already) I don’t see the problem in getting the games quickly. I personally loved Pirate Warriors and I’m glad we get the second game not even a year after the first one.
