The next issue of Famitsu, due out next week, will have a “something surprising for Metal Gear Solid fans,” this week’s copy of the magazine teases.
Perhaps it has something to do with The Phantom Pain? Which many believe is in fact Metal Gear Solid V?
Thanks, Game Jouhou.
lol. ima laugh if it is The Phantom Pain . not much of a suprirse
Famitsu:”THIS JUST IN….THE PHANTOM PAIN IS MGS5!”
You guys do know that “Metal Gear Solid V” is not the same thing as “Metal Gear Solid 5″, don’t you?
yeah it could be for Vita
You know what V stands for, right?
MG has never used roman numerals
V has come too
I highly doubt that The Phantom Pain is a game. To me, it’s just the trailer title. And I think, there is no Metal Gear Solid 5 or Metal Gear Solid V. Kojima is just trolling, and the trailer was about Ground Zeroes.
I dont think to try trolling in big event like VGA
While I agree on Phantom Pain not being a game, however it is clearly MGS5/V and this would probably be a small sequence in the game ….
That’s what I think at least …
uh…..i don’t know Victory? XD
I hope for something would make my jaw drop.
Metal Gear Solid PS Vita
Or For Wii U,Dont Forget. :)
My WiiU is in my closet right now.
You should tell it it’s okay. Tell your Wii U to come out of the closet, we’ll accept it for what it is.
And I am the Batman
You are too late Famitsu
lol. ya really.
Kojima, just what are you thinking? You’re not gonna go trolling us with some social games, are you?
It better not. I’m still sad that Star Galaxy turned out to be a browser game. I don’t think I can take another impact.
Metal Gear Sold Wii U
I’m not so sure about the “V” part. In my previous post, I asked @AuroraXIII what exactly was said at the end.
“V has come to.” —
This makes me think V is a person. Perhaps the “Snake” in this trailer is dreaming. It could be Big Boss, but it might not be,
I said before that I had some theories, one of them being that this entire trailer is scenes from the Les Enfants Terribles project.
You can refresh yourself with the details in that link. Could this be a code name for some kind of test subject? Subject V?
If we try and compare the timelines and stuff, it seems like Ground Zeroes takes place between 1970′s-1980′s. The time frame for the project does fit.
Also, if the end statement means he was dreaming or something? This little tidbit is interesting. — “In the English versions of both Metal Gear Solid and The Twin Snakes, it was stated that Big Boss was in a coma when they commenced the project.” (From the link above.)
Could this all be a crazy dream sequence? The writing in the trailer kinda makes you think it could be. Maybe this is a game that takes place before Ground Zeroes? Perhaps Big Boss was used as a test experiment if he truly was in a coma, they could have used the chance to kidnap and use his body for the LET project?
All of this is food for thought.
More interesting stuff -
Someone on twitter put this together, odd coincidence?
That is taken from the official website.
The website also lists PS3/360 at the bottom for the platforms. Could this game be coming out soon then? Or is it another trick to throw us off?
That’s all for now, please respond and continue the discussion. =)
My theory is still that V = Vita. :p
I’m going more on the voice saying it in the trailer. Not the V fitting into the title name.
It could be that simple though. =P
“5″ is an Arabic numeral, “V” is five in Roman.
There’s a painting of Pompeii ruins visible on the hospital wall. Check out what the word “pompeii” means on wikipedia :)
I didn’t catch the painting, nice find. Yeah, I was kinda thinking maybe the voice at the end is talking about someone.
Wait, something doesn’t quite add up. The LET Project happens before Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes takes place after. But he has both arms in Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes but he’s amputated in the trailer. He was in a coma twice
Wouldn’t that mean that this takes place after Metal Gear 2? Or am I missing something?
It’s all pretty tricky. It might not be reality? He might be dreaming? Or perhaps that is some sort of flashback scene?
It’s fun to think and guess at theories though. My goal posting the above was to get theories going. =)
I actually forgot about him being in a coma, it wasn’t until I did some reading that I saw it. It’s tough to place any facts next to this though. Considering just how much we know about this game, which seems to be very little.
I truly believe the Phantom Pain trailer is a flashback sequence before Peace Walker. The reason why we know of it now (sort of speak) is because the battle between Zero and Big Boss just got serious. And it is because of that Vic Boss thinks back at the last straw between him and Zero, and why he left.
Hideo Kojima is trying different “genres” within the MGS universe. Horror, Open-World, huge sandbox, Stealth, Shooter, etc.
As for “V has come to” I’m still decoding this but I think V stands for Vic as in Vic Boss in which Vic stands for Victory.
Very interesting. Thanks for the reply.
I suggested before that it could be Psycho Mantis fucking with his head and the limb is still there.
Well, hopefully this will seal the deal on the Phantom Pain – MGS connection.
is would be really funny if is turn out is not MGS at all after ppl thiink is MGS 5
Somehow I’m getting more and more inclined to believe that V actually means Vita. It would certainly be the proper shot in the arm Vita needs in Japan.
I hope the surprising MGS news was that The Phantom Pain is totally unrelated to MGS and doesn’t involve Kojima in any way. Just so it’d make for a good story down the road, the day Kojima inadvertently trolled the entire freakin’ internet.
So…Where is it?
cake is a lie!
My Moby Dick is ready for MGS:V “V Has come to–” =D
