Raiden takes out a sewer boss, Metal Gear Ray.

Konami has shared new video and screenshots of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance after a ‘Boot Camp’ press event held in Los Angeles yesterday.

According to Kojima Productions boss Hideo Kojima, the gathering was a success.

And I finally watched it! That Metal Gear Ray boss fight is so epic!

The song during that fight is titled “Locked and Loaded”

I’ve played the demo, and it plays just as good as it looks in the videos.

It’s also no coincidence to me that the person playing was struggling at times, the demo has a very tough boss fight at the end. Some of the fights were quite difficult, where others you could avoid or take out via stealth.

In the demo, there was not a block button, no blocking. The best you could do was a parry, and it was not like just press this button. You have to move the analog stick and press the attack button, while carefully timing the enemies attack. It wasn’t very easy for me to pull off in the final boss fight. (In the second video, they had a parry as QTE. It does not appear to function like this in other parts of the game, just that boss fight.)

Also, with the Blade mode cut, if you go faster with the analog stick as you slice, Raiden will swing faster and you can cut stuff up like crazy, it’s really awesome. (Sorta like he does on the missile attacks.)

They showed a few scenes in the above videos of the codec menu. In the demo, I just spent like 20 minutes talking to Raiden’s Team via the codecs.

It plays very much like a Kojima game, it feels like Metal Gear with fast paced Sword action. I can’t wait for the full game to come out.

Platinum own the action genre, period.
