Tales of Hearts R battle system, Spir Drive detailed
PS Vita remake gets its own Overlimit-esque power-up gauge.Tales of Hearts R will use the Aerial Chase Linear Motion Battle System (ARC-LMBS), the January 2013 issue of Viva Tales of Magazine reveals.
These battles will utilize a “Chase Move,” which instantly catches you up to enemies knocked back by a break attack. It’s usually connected to aerial combos made up of regular attacks and a break attack.
On the left side of the battle screen, you’ll see your “Spir Drive” gauge. When in use, your status is raised, TC consumption stops, aria time is zero, and you can not be knocked back. There are four levels to Spir Drive. Secret moves become available after level three.
To invoke Spir Drive, you’ll need to press the L button and cursor keys. It’s assumed it will act similarly to Tales of Vesperia‘s Overlimit gauge, with each level corresponding to a directional key.
Also revealed in the magazine is a new arte for Calcedny called “Grand Cross.”
