Naughty Dog and other companies should ignore that “awards” show so that it can just die/cancelled. Anyway I will not watch and I am willing to wait until it appears on the PS Blog/ Youtube [even if it takes a month].

The VGAs are embarrassing and I do not understand why Geoff Keighley associates himself with them.

      • rockman29

        Because he works for G4TV?

        Questions kids ask these days…

        • Kazziyan

          G4? Doesn’t he work for Spike/GT lol.

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

I beg your pardon? I do not care about G4TV, but I consider Keighley to be one of the most influential gaming journalists and a sympathetic face of gaming to “outsiders”. The VGAs are a joke and an embarrassment to gaming. I’d like to know which year you have been born in as there is a slight probability I am older than you. Calling me a “kid” is kinda immature, if I may say so.

Let’s all be nice. I don’t think anyone meant to start anything. If they did – let’s just end that now please. ^^

Yes, Keighley works for Spike/GameTrailers, both of which are are owned by Viacom.

            http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viacom

I do agree with you, the VGAs are pretty pathetic. I think most consider them to be awful. They air on spike, and thus, are treated like most award shows on the network. In other words, all the award shows they (Spike) air tend to be horrible. It should not be that surprising though, just look at the award shows on MTV. (Also owned by Viacom.)

It really is a shame, but he (Keighley) has to be associated with them because, well, it’s his job, I’m sure the higher up’s at Viacom insist.

He seems to focus in on the only good part about the VGAs each year, especially with his tweets and such. Yes, I’m talking about the trailers.

I do tend to “watch” the VGAs. I watch it for the trailers though. All the other stuff is…bleh.

We want to see games, not a bunch of stupid shit. Until another serious event comes along that can actually get televised on another network… this is what we get. :/

            • Kazziyan

Man that t-bagging last year was embarrassing.

            • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Thanks for your comment, I’m with you on this, mate. Couldn’t have said it better. Just watching the VGAs for the trailers and (non-leaked) announcements of games. That Last of Us developer reveal was a genuine surprise.

I consider my reply nice, compared to rockman’s guessing game of my age. He did not inquire, but simply called me names, that’s not very nice.

I agree whole heartedly. Spike’s VGA is a joke.

  • Solomon_Kano

Ah. Day before my birthday? Lovely time for a new look at one of my most anticipated games of 2013. The VGAs are horrible, but I always look forward to the reveals. Topping that Revengeance reveal is nigh impossible, but I hope there are some good ones this year too.

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

Release date and the Infected. Hopefully Sucker Punch unveils their new game at the VGA’s.

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

I believe Skyrim did not deserve GOTY last year and they better not give it to Halo 4 it needs to go to Assassin’s Creed III.

    • Locksus

Meh, I’m not sure if AC3 deserves GOTY. There have been better game this year. Halo 4 and Dishonored, in my opinion, are more qualified for GOTY.

AC3 is full of bugs, Connor’s voice acting is horrible and it just isn’t as good as AC2 IMO. + The ending left a lot to be desired.

      • KingOptimusOrigins111

        It’s my opinion -_-

Assassin’s Creed III is good. Definitely deserves it. Knowing Spike they won’t have Dishonored on the list. They will have Halo 4, AC III, Borderlands 2, RE6, & Black Ops 2. Halo 4 don’t deserve it at all too much hype. AC III may have a lot of hype as well but it’s well deserve hype, the story was amazing, multiplayer is addicting & the best part its not a FPS which majority this gen is saturated with.

        • Locksus

And that was my opinion. Do not insult my opinion and I won’t insult yours.

And you should play Halo 4 before deciding whether if deserves GOTY or not. Knowing you, you are judging it based on the platform it’s on. I would love to hear all about your opinion when it comes to Halo 4 if you had played it first. As for RE6, if it gets nominated I will have lost all my hope for mankind as that game deserves it the least.

          • KingOptimusOrigins111

And I just told you my opinion in the last comment. Seems like you can’t handle when someone says they don’t believe Halo 4 deserves GOTY. That’s why I put its my opinion because knowing you and everybody else here on Gematsu can’t seem handle my opinion and feel the need they have to reply to me just to start an argument.

Um, I have played it at my friends house. I’m not saying its bad, I’m just saying the hype behind is not worth it. I feel like Assassin’s Creed III deserves it the most. Halo 4 is GOTY material but in my opinion it doesn’t deserve it. Its just another FPS to fill this gen. As far as RE6 goes again it Spike TV they are going to nominate it regardless

            • Locksus

Ehh, fair enough, you did TRY it at your friend’s house. Fine. But do YOU decide a game based on a brief gameplay session at a friend’s house?  And I can handle someone else’s opinion perfectly well. Unlike you it seems. Someone else’s opinion doesn’t and shouldn’t affect my enjoyment of the game. I enjoy it but I am fine if you think it was nothing that special. I thought AC3 isn’t GOTY material but why does it make you upset if I say so? I’m so very sorry if YOU can’t have a nice and polite argument with someone. I can do it if the person who I am sharing my opinion with can do it too. I tried to be nice when I replied to your comment in the beginning.

According to you, people shouldn’t share differing opinions? That’s not a very good way to think about these things.

              • KingOptimusOrigins111

I played the whole game. I don’t have a problem with your opinion. I was just stating its my opinion because like I said a day from now someone is going to be like “No, you just hate Xbox all you care about is PlayStation blah blah blah” I don’t have anything against Halo, I’m just tired of FPS and PlayStation is the only one that has been pushing TPS this gen and Nintendo.

                • Locksus

That’s fine then. I still find it funny that you said I couldn’t handle your opinion about Halo 4 but at the same time my opinion about AC3 got you on the defensive.

                  I dislike attitude like that.

VGA is a great show, many haters here are jealous about the celebritys in the show and think that their opinion about the game winner or goty is the only truth. They not respect others visions. And the show has a huge audience, if not, Spike just cancell it. It is for the trailers? For the awards? Anyway, its is like Call Of Duty: many haters, many public.

I think what most gamers would like to see is something more serious. It would also be nice if the process of voting was vastly improved. I’d like to see a nice balance between user vote awards, and developer vote awards.

    let’s get to it ND!
