Namco Bandai shared new video, screenshots, and information on the Wii U version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 at Comic-Con in New York City today.
“Tekken Ball,” which first debuted in Tekken 3 for PSone, returns in Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Wii U Edition after a long absence. In it, players can go head to head in a volleyball / dodgeball hybrid game. Players are tasked with protecting their side of the court by hitting a ball over to the other player’s side of the field. The longer the volley between courts, the more damaging the ball’s attack when it finally hits a player. The mode will include multiple ball types with different speeds and damages, as well as tournament and exhibition modes.
As previously revealed, the Wii U version also includes costumes from famous Nintendo properties. New costumes shown today include Toad and Princess Peach from Super Mario Bros., Sheik from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Captain Falcon F-Zero. Already announced costumes include Zero Suit Samus, Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Fox McCloud, Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf.
