With its November 1 Japanese release date fast approaching, Namco Bandai and Famitsu.com have published the launch trailer for Tales of Xillia 2.

Some additional news bits have also come out (via Tokkurin):

  • The latest issue of Viva Tales of Magazine reveals you’ll have to select your party members before you leave town. Those characters will remain fixed in battle.
  • The magazine also claims the interaction with party members is richer than the first game. It’s easy for the battles to become speedy and flashy.
  • During a talk show event in Ibaraki, transformation outfits, which completely transform party members into characters such as Wingull, Presa, Agria, Ivar, and Elle, were announced. Their abilities and artes, however, will remain the same. Musee was shown as Ivar, and though transformed, she was still floating.

In other Tales-related news, it looks like Namco is readying the web page for its recently announced Tales of Hearts R.

Fixed party member? Well, that kinda sucked… Oh well. Still waiting for the game.

      Why does that suck?

      • Zuhri69

Kinda. Well, I can live with that.

        • Skelter

nah don’t live with that man, that isn’t a good change at all especially if I’m far from a town and wanna level up a different character……..are you guys on something?? clearly a regression.

    • Xenovelgr

I think the “headquarters”-ness of this game is a good change of pace for the Tales series

      • Zuhri69

It brought a different feel, that’s for sure.

  • Haku_Luvs_You

    >.< Elle is way to adorable! I about lost it when she fell on that beach.

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

    The music sounds high class.

Think it’s by Ufotable. No surprise there~

      • KingNigma

I’m pretty sure Ufotable is in charge of the animation.

Yeah, i think it still Motoi Sakuraba…

        • vertical09

Oh =P appeared when the music was playing so I thought that was the case. Completly forgot about them working on the cutscenes.

  • PrinceHeir

man this is so heart warming :D

does the game have anime cutscene or are all story based cutscenes are in game??

    Worst Launch trailer ever?

    • KingOptimusOrigins111

How is it the worst launch trailer?

      • Xenovelgr

I loved this trailer because it just showed the characters being themselves. There’s like 4 or 5 other ToX2 trailers that focus on all the action and stuff like that.

        • KingOptimusOrigins111

Yeah I know but, unless their is action people like dr000d thinks its the worst launch trailer. This launch trailer shows you don’t need action to enjoy what they are trying to prove.

          • Skelter

well dr000d didn’t state his reason yet so lets not jump to conclusions ;)

            • KingOptimusOrigins111

              Will see if he responds.

  • DichaTesoro

That cat! Lulu, I think. It’s so round and cute! Glasses guy is now my favorite character because of the cat.

Elle has my hnngs~ in this trailer <3

Wait, the music. It’s familiar, I just heard it recently.
Yeah it sounds like Legend of Mana music.

It does have a similar sound. The LoM track is more piano heavy, and of course, it changes sounds quite a bit later in the track.

You reminded me that Legend of Mana has some great tracks. ^^
