Square Enix and United Front Games shared details on the first major expansion for Sleeping Dogs at Comic-Con in New York today. And it’s very supernatural.
Titled “Nightmare in Northpont,” the content will add a new, horror-themed game mode similar to Red Dead Redemption‘s “Undead Nightmare” expansion. It follows the story of a gang member who the Triad tortured and killed, who comes back to life with an army of undead 18K Triad members; and it’s Wei Shen’s responsibility to put them back to sleep.
The publisher showed off a demo of the new content during a panel today, in which Wei Shen took on a group of these undead Triad. When killed, they disappear into the ground in a flash of green light. Shen made use of magical, lightning fists he gained through drinking a special tea from an earlier mission. Shen also has to go against Jiang Shi, or Chinese Vampires. For this, he’ll use a peach wood sword.
The “Nightmare in Northpoint” DLC will offer a few hours of additional content, according to Square Enix. It will launch on October 30 for an unannounced price.
