Insomniac CEO plays through his studio's new shooter.

Electronic Arts and Insomniac Games have published an 18-minute gameplay walkthrough video of Fuse, its newly re-revealed third-person shooter. The clip, narrated by Insomniac CEO Ted Price, shows the four playable characters of the Overstrike team, their weapons, their skill-based progressions, and the game’s co-op elements. Watch it below.

My mom always says ‘if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all’.

    The voice acting seems good.

Made me lol so hard. Dunno why.

Insomniac, I know you can do better than this.

This looks like a rental at best. The only downside is that I can’t rent games in Finland or at least I can’t in the town I’m living in.

EA fucked this up big time not Insomniac Games.

    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

nope, it’s an EA partner’s game. EA don’t have a fuck to say about the direction of the game or any changes. It was Insomniac’s decision, go blame them.

      • KingOptimusOrigins111

No, it was EA fault they have ruin a couple of games in the past when they partner up with people.

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

I believe Insomniac chose to partner up with EA (not the other way around) as they wanted their games to “reach a bigger audience”. Good luck selling any copies on 360 after such a long second party relationship with Sony.
I like the characters, but I’m afraid playing solo on higher difficulty levels will be tough due to AI issues and I’m also aware this is an UE3 game, so PS3 version will naturally suffer badly. Bargain bin if it receives decent reviews, otherwise I won’t even bother.

I’ll probably buy this when it drops to $20 but I feel like they should have stuck with the humor would have equal a lot more sales but then again 360 owners love serious shooters :(

The gameplay is very interesting, but I miss the cartoony look.

    • DarthBrian

Yeah, the stylized cartoony look gave it some personality. Now it just looks like…well…like everything else. *shrug*

Once i get RE6 i think the next shooter type of game im getting is Bioshock infinite and that is next year.

Im sick and tired of a new shooter game being made every 2 weeks, i rather have Insomniac made platforming games than shooters.

As for this game i don’t want it, really not even for free xD i would rather use my time on like beating Tales of Graces F on Chaos difficulty and have more fun :3

Izzy sounds like Lightning from FFXIII.

Lots of negative here, but I’m gonna try and stay positive.

Yes, I agree with everyone else, I’m disappointed they abandoned the previous look of the game.

With that said, I have faith in Insomniac to make a good game.

The video showcased some really cool weapons, along with cool features the weapons create, stuff like that is where Insomniac tends to shine bright. I’m also going to give the team the benefit of the doubt with the story, it looks more interesting to me than most stories in shooting games.

The thing that I really liked was the co-op gameplay, Fuse looks like it will be lots of fun to play with a friend. That alone is enough to put the game on my radar, I pretty much only play shooting games this way these days. I tend to stick to other genres when I play solo.

Does that mean It’s sold me on a purchase? Not quite, but I will keep my eye on the game. I’m really hoping they have full HD splitscreen co-op. I have fond memories of playing Resistance a few years ago this way, me and my friend just sitting on the couch enjoying the game… Good times.

I like the characters and the feel of the game but I’m still indifferent as I fear for the PS3 version. They probably demonstrated the PC version running with a 360 pad but as this is Insomniac’s first UE3 game the PS3 version will probably suffer badly. None of their PS3 exclusives ran at native 720p on proprietary engines so expect lots of screen-tearing, slow-downs and sub-HD rez on PS3.
That’s my only concern, the game itself looks ok.
