wonder why Xillia 2 scored 4 points lower than the original one?

need to get the JPN version :O

    • Kazziyan

Going by the costume article- Xillia 2 is 50 hours and including additional content its 100.

      • PrinceHeir

        how long is Xillia 1?

        • Kazziyan

Felt shorter to me when I played the import. Not a lot of side content either if I remember. I think that was one of the gripes?

          • PrinceHeir

but XIllia 2 is score lower than Xillia 1.

so maybe Xillia 2 has less side quests??

            • Kazziyan

Maybe.. but this is Famitsu so I don’t trust them too much. Maybe some reviewers didn’t like the idea of a sequel, since keep in mind that the scores for Famitsu aren’t supposed to be exactly tally’d.

Xillia 2 by news seems to have a lot more stuff though.

              • PrinceHeir

                will see :D

let’s just hope Namco localizes Xillia 2!!!

                • Kazziyan

                  Yeah, hopefully.

Just hope this isn’t a sequel to capitalize on Xillia’s success and actually improves where it lacked.

                  • Xenovelgr

Let’s hope this isn’t another Destiny 2. Destiny 2 was still good, but it just felt forced to me, like they were just banking on the success of Destiny 1

        • Haku_Luvs_You

I had it done I think in about 45 hours. I skipped almost all the side quest though and focused mainly on the main story. If this is anything to go by Xillia is a bit shorter than this one.

          • PrinceHeir

            still alot O____O

          • Kazziyan

It’s good that you didn’t bother.

I’m not in general a fan of the world structure. (little off topic) Hope it’s not permanent.

maybe pre-order of famitsu DX pack from Xillia 2 is not good so famitsu give lower score for this game

  • KingOptimusOrigins111

Famitsu is always giving out high scores LOL!!!!

    • FaithlessMr

Yeaaaaaaah, Famitsu is definitely not the mag you should be looking for if you want some serious reviews. Long goes the time where Famitsu scores were actually of some importance. So much that getting a high score from them meant actually enduring hard criticism from their four reviewers and still being recognized as an excellent game everyone should play.

      • KingOptimusOrigins111

I’ve been noticing the high reviews for a whole year now and they don’t seem to be accurate with their reviews on certain games.

        • FaithlessMr

Their reviews haven’t been accurate or trustworthy in a long while.Ever since the PS2 days or so…that’s when they kinda started selling out their name and brand and their reviews were received with mixed feelings.

    • Hidayat246

       Money is always talk buddy!!!!

not just famitsu but other website/magazine game from western is same too

      • KingOptimusOrigins111

So they’re getting paid to give out good reviews. That is real evil.

        • Hidayat246

          dont be suprise!!!!!!

i know u are ready know about that long long ago

    • DrForbidden

That’s just their system. When you have 4 reviewers rating a game on a scale of 10 and the review score is simply a total of the four results, this is what you get. If I honestly asked myself how many of the games I have played I would rate with less than 5 or 6 out of 10, it would be quite a small percentage.

Not saying their method is necessarily wrong, but I think it is too simple to reflect the true complexity of modern videogame reviewing. They should definitely update their methods, but aside from a few obviously iffy scores, I wouldn’t say that they are ‘bought’ unless there is proof.

      • KingOptimusOrigins111

        Agreed

  • awaiken

This week’s paid off Famtisu scores.

    • DrForbidden

The highest score in this week’s batch is 87.5%, and that is for ToX2 which is probably an extremely well-made product anyway. The publishers must be incredibly stupid to keep paying Famitsu for review scores when they keep getting screwed.

      • awaiken

What’s your point? That it doesn’t happen? This is not evidence that it hasn’t happened. They are pretty open about it, and it’s already been proven on multiple occasional. It happened with Skyrim and Final Fantasy 13, off the top of my head.

        • DrForbidden

Nobody is saying it DOESN’T happen. It is just debatable HOW OFTEN it happens.

And what’s my point? My point is that if paying the reviewers only got them an 87.5% or less score, it’d be a bribe failure. More likely that none of the reviews this week were actually bought, than that they were bought and still got less than 90%.

EDIT: Corrected a calculation mistake in my original post.

          • awaiken

I get you. Allow to me clarify, I don’t think THESE particular scores were paid for.. I more or less mentioned it in this article to remind people that their credibility has always been shot.

            • DrForbidden

That could certainly be true. Though in a system where the average score of an average game hovers at around 75%, it could just be a ‘systemic bias’ in their review method. Like I mentioned in another post below, I think their review system is outdated and needs a complete overhaul to regain legitimacy. They also need to get rid of this stigma of corruption, and introduce more transparency in the overhaul.

  • FaithlessMr

Whoa, didn’t these leak somewhat earlier this week? Famitsu leaks usually don’t come until Wednesday morning (my time).

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Bobby-Jennings/100000158197173 Bobby Jennings

    Nice. Just a week away.

  • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

I’m actually surprised Xillia 2 didn’t get a better score.

    • Xenovelgr

Me too, since apparently they improved upon the things that Xillia was criticized for (Side content especially)
