A beta for the Wii U version of Dragon Quest X: Rise of the Five Tribes Online will run for Japan in February 2013, Square Enix announced during today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast. Beta vouchers will be included with Premium Set editions of Wii U systems.
The Wii U version will include native high-definition graphics and support for the Wii U GamePad (things like a semi-transparent keyboard). Because Wii and Wii U players will share the same server, character data from the Wii version can be imported into the Wii U version.
New features, such as the ability to create furniture, change a character’s appearance, and automatically create parties, are being developed for both versions.
Dragon Quest X will launch for Wii U in Japan next year.
