Bethesda opens Battlecry Studios
New studio headed by industry veteran Rich Vogel.

Bethesda Softworks has announced the opening of Battlecry Studios, a new developer based in Austin, Texas and headed by long-time industry veteran Rich Vogel.

Vogel most recently worked as the executive producer of development on Star Wars: The Old Republic at BioWare, and previously played roles in Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies.

Battlecry is currently seking talent to fill key roles for an unannounced project. To apply, visit ZeniMax’s job site.

“I have always admired and respected Bethesda’s approach to making great, original games,” said Vogel. “It’s a belief and passion I share, and I’m looking forward to building a team of high quality developers who want to bring that same commitment and creative energy to the games we’ll be creating.”

    I think the clues pretty much point to them being the ones who are developing Elder Scrolls Online.

    I wonder if Battlecry will be able to code a game that will function on ps3 instead of being a glitch laden pile of rubbish like every Bethesda game.

      I doubt it’ll be on anything other than PC. Though if there was a console it was on, it’d be PS3. Microsoft would require Xbox Live Gold and probably want to charge Bethesda bandwidth fees on top of it. But who knows? Microsoft does like giving free money to Bethesda, i.e. Dawnguard exclusivity. :p
