    Played the demo wasn’t impressed.

I agree with you there. Only bothered to play through Leon’s demo and if that’s considered to be the best of them all, I’m not impressed.

Haven’t played RE games before so what do I know but it certainly wasn’t for me.

I knew it was going to focus on action but at least they could do is try to make it challenging. Its like they made it less challenging so casuals can play it with out complaining of it being hard.

well im impress with Shery since she’s more agile and has alot of weapons this time.

not gonna watch the trailer, im avoiding this as hell since Capcom loves to spoil most of the good moments in their games :P

You didn’t feel the game could have been more challenging.

well they still haven’t showed us the Professional mode so we will have to wait and see :D

It’s basically the E3 trailer. Well, no biggie because the game is right around the corner

Been playing Resi games ever since they released back in 95/96, always been a huge fan. And with RE 6, I strongly believe this series is not for me anymore.

I understand times changed and so did the consumer needs, and I’m not longer part of the target audience for the series. I played the demo, the Leon segment, which is considered to be the most “classic” segments of the game, and if that’s the most classic it gets, then I really feel this series is not for me anymore. It’s a straight up shooter with Zombies. Heck, a cover system…? Going from point A to point B, shooting everything in your way? Nothing against that in any game that’s a shooter, but I just expected something else from this franchise, and this trailer adds to that feeling; that RE is no longer about exploring a hazardous, labyrinthic environment, managing your supplies carefully and strategizing the way you went about killing your enemies. It’s more about blowing stuff up and going from point A to point B, killing everything in your way, with cinematic QTE’s and explosions here and there.

Again, nothing against that, I love Uncharted. But Uncharted is Uncharted, and RE is RE.I’m happy for anyone who might enjoy the new direction the series is heading, but I guess this is where we part ways :P

Im not buying RE6 either, there is tooo much hollywood action, high budget shit going on and lol at the story parts from the trailer ” Ada workd for umbrella!? You know what that means dont you?!” !!!! in such a dramatic scene lol ….

Either way i can tell you that what you said is 100% true, if long time resident evil fans think that your wrong then sadly they must have a strong bias going on with the series, just like thousands of people buy FF games “just because” they are FF games.

Well i might get RE6 but when its really cheap just because i know that i will see some cool high production value graphics and effects, and maybe some part of good story?
because the thing i loved about RE5 the most was like the part where you fight Evil Jill XD that part of the story was most interesting imo.

I really think we’re definitely not the target audience anymore. I have trouble actually believing any classic RE fans enjoy what the series has become. RE 5 managed to sell A LOT because it dumbed down the game mechanics and stripped the series of features that made it unique in the first place.

Unfortunately, survival horror just isn’t profitable nowadays. The current generation is more keen on blowing stuff up and moving along a set path, instead of appreciating a slower paced adventure. Nothing against that, but I can’t just appreciate it anymore, I feel this just isn’t right.

I played through RE5 online with a friend and had a blast. I’ll prolly do the same with the same friend, but…it’ll never feel as if I’m playing RE, it’ll only feel like I’m playing an action packed TPS with a friend. Zombies with guns? lol, seriously…? Might as well replace ‘em with actual soldiers and go for the military shooter type. I feel that right now the whole zombies thing is just something Capcom is using to make this game look like RE; But one thing’s for sure, it most likely won’t feel like it. At least, judging from the demo.

well for me this will definitely be my last RE game.

im willing to give capcom a chance since i’ve been dying to play Leon for a long time now, adding in Shery and Ada is a plus!!!!

and hopefully the mercenaries mode will include past characters like Leon, Claire, Barry, Rebecca, Carlos, Wesker, Hunk etc.

either way im good with the demo, but if the next RE is like this then no more for me.

I might get this game eventually, knowing how great I thought revelations was. Revelations was factual proof that Capcom can still crank up a classic-y RE game that manages to stay in sync with all the changes they implemented in RE 4-onwards. You could run and gun, the game had action packed moments, but at the same time, you had to explore a claustrophobic, hazardous environment, solving some easy puzzles in the way, and managing your supplies. The game featured a fine balance in gameplay mechanics that could be easily have been implemented in this game; and judging from the demo, it prolly hasn’t been.

        • PrinceHeir

man i definitely need to get Revelations :D

looks RE Classic to me :)

          • FaithlessMr

It’s the closest you’ll get to the classic RE games nowadays. Having different keys that unlock different areas, making you explore the ship as you move along…it was a great throwback to the series roots, and I wish they’d make more games like Revelations :/

The game moves too fast in my opinion. There is no atmosphere horror at all.

    Looks good. Definite buy!

    Trailer was great, too :D

Funny story. Me and RE. As a kid I watched my cousin play RE 1, 2 and 3 (as well as the spin-offs. Yes, even the BAD ones like Dead Aim) And for the longest time, I had a phobia of zombies. You could call me a grade A chicken coz Horror isn’t my thing. I hate horror and never understand why ppl would WANT to be willingly frightened and scared for their own “enjoyment”. Hell I can’t even handle Bioshock.

Then RE4 came out. Saw how its handled now. Gave it a try on the Wii. Was having fun till the chainsaw guy made me drop the controller and stop the game. Then, RE5 came out. After hearing the numerous cries of it “not being scare anymore” and “Being all about action”, I gave it a shot. And you know what? I loved it. RE5 finally made me get over my fear of zombies after at least of decade of fearing them.

The first part with the executioner guy gave a great sense of desperation (which I understand RE4′s first encounter has the same formula) and I for one am happy RE dropped the shock scares and went for this direction.

I understand fully how much its changed, but as the direction that finally got me to enjoy this series and its lore like my cousin does and given me something more to talk about with him, I will indefinitely be getting this.

sry for long post. Just wanted to get this off my chest.
