Metal Gear Rising Tokyo Game Show trailer
New enemies revealed in 5-minute trailer.

Konami, Kojima Productions, and Platinum Games have released the Tokyo Game Show trailer for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The five-minute clip sees Raiden against giant mechs, collapsing buildings, and the game’s three new enemy characters revealed earlier this week: Sundowner, Mistral, and Monsoon. Watch it below.

              I think it boils down to what ppls definition of ‘Metal Gear’ is. To me its a game with insane characters, robot animalistic tanks called Metal Gears and cyborg Ninjas. So MGR:R is still very Metal Gear in my book.

                  Well we don’t know much about story yet, but how is that tech not cool? Its all about cyborg ninjas (!). And you find none of the new cyborg ninjas aesthetically pleasing?

                      How does the tech not match the series? Let us recount shall we? 

                      We had a crawling tank in MGS3 (not to mention super powered villains)

                      We had a bipedal tank that roars in MGS1 (as well as a cyborg ninja)

                      We had a giant base like Metal Gear, MG Ray, Lady Luck (with giant rail gun), lest we forget; Vamp. AIs, and yet another cyborg ninja.

                      We had moo-ing Metal Gears and oh look, another cyborg ninja (who can breakdance-throw two of the cow MGs around and fight Vamp)

                      Need I go on? Tech in MG has always been exaggerated in MG and for most, thats why its awesome. I really didn’t see anything that didn’t fit the MG series in the trailers so far.

                      P.S. Not mad. Just really really curious as to why we both love this series yet have vastly opposing thoughts on this spin-off

                      Well yeah the tech was always advanced,but it was always based off real tech(shagohod even has a real life equivilant) the tech in rising doesnt matcht aesthetically and has no basis in real tech which bothers me

                      Ah so thats the difference. You look towards MGS for its use and somewhat exaggerated portrayal of possible technologies that MIGHT work in reality in the right situations. 

                      I look at MGS for the zany characters, over the top designs and awesome story. Alright, cool. Thanks for taking the time and replying all my msgs. I honestly was just curious and wanted to get down to what ppl meant by “This isn’t MGS”.

    If Raiden intentionally didn’t replace his left eye out of some samurai honor code bullshit than that bugs me. He’s a cyborg, he got a whole new outfit/body which you know must have cost a grip of money, but he didn’t replace his left eye?! That’s weird, get a new one -_-

      Maybe Raiden want to keep his left eyes as a reminder that he lost a battle against Sam Rodriguez  …   if Raiden follow the samurai Bushido code , he already die with honor by commit Seppuku / Harakiri,

        That’s exactly what I’m talking about, that’s macho egotistic bullshit. “I can replace my left eye whenever I want but this guy beat my ass so I’m not going to replace it until I defeat him and reclaim my honor.” Is he really that self-absorbed? Dude, just replace the eye Lol

      I get what you’re saying, but it could just be a symbol of his past that he doesn’t wish to forget… Something which made him what he is today. Sure, he COULD have just replaced it, but that would be expected. It is more unusual for the character to willingly not replace it since it is a part of who he is.

    The boss design is fantastic. Evidently, Kojima Production knew they couldn’t go wrong with Platinum Games. Great moveset on that multi-hand lady.

    The insanity in this trailer intrigues me.

    Oh who the hell am I kidding, this looks FREKING OUTSTANDING!  Metal Gears trademark weirdness, humor, and over the topness is all on display here, and the gameplay looks fun as all heck.  If people are still crying about this not being Kojima Production’s Metal Gear Solid Rising, they need to reevaluate themselves and make sure they know what “fun” is :P

      Most of all, one should applaud Kojima Productions for having the courage and honesty to look themselves in the eyes and say “we cannot do this. Let it be handled by someone who actually can”. Hopefully, this experience will teach Kojima’s guys how to handle that genre and style of gameplay for the future.

    Trailer blows my mind, it looks way freakin awesome. This makes me 100% sure this would be the best action game after Bayonetta. Well… there’s Bayonetta 2 but this should keep me busy for a while when it’s out.

    I’m very hyped right now. :O

    Finally just watched this trailer. 

    The visuals look like they have been vastly improved in my opinion. The story and characters also feel very Metal Gearish to me.

    I’m even more excited to play this game now.
