Level-5 CEO wants to make Castle in the Sky video game
Akihiro Keen on future Ghibli collaborations.Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level-5, the studio developing the January-due Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, is keen on creating another Studio Ghibli video game collaboration.
“Yes, we’d like to work on some joint projects with them in the future – if there is, of course, a possibility,” said Hino, speaking during a group interview session at Namco Bandai headquarters in Japan.
Asked which Ghibli movie he’d like to adapt, Hino said he’d like to make a game based on Ghibli’s 1986 film Castle in the Sky.
A video game adaption for Castle in the Sky did come out at one point. It was a Sega Mega Drive shoot ’em up, but it was different from the film. it came out as Empire of Steel in the U.S.
Thanks, Joystiq.
