Rumor: Wii U to launch before Thanksgiving in U.S., December in Europe
Manufacturing the issue in Europe, says source.

Wii U will not release in Europe until December, a month ahead of Nintendo’s intended November launch, according to a CVG source.

The reason, said the source, has something to do with manufacturing the Wii U GamePad.

In the U.S., however, the source said Nintendo is determined to launch Wii U before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Nintendo has yet to announce an official launch date.

Interested but the Launch library isnt enough to sway me to buy the console right away. I’ll wait 2 years.

They better get to marketing the thing then… They really are pushing it.

This entire process has been confusing. I feel like Nintendo is trying to keep everyone in the dark about the Wii U. I find it all a bit ridiculous. For heavens sake, they should be focusing in on Pre-Orders by now.

Announce a launch window or release date, rev up the marketing, and start getting the word out. Explain to people what it is, and what it does, why do we want it? Not just gamers, all consumers.

Not everyone watches e3, or reads gaming websites/magazines/blogs everyday. I think Nintendo wants to sell the Wii U to “everyone.” Just like they did with the Wii. Time’s A Wastin’

I like your concern about the bass ackwards way Nintendo is treating this launch.
      I ahare the same concerns.

I have these same concerns of another system on the horizon thats made in America but even voicing them in the same manner you just did seems to alert your colleagues to a rabble rousing trouble maker being afoot.

      Pity that.

I hope Nintendo shapes up. Time is short. They dont need to convince me. Im a gamer. I’llbuy it cuz its new. However the people who mostly bought the Wii are not gamers and to suck them in you need clever commercials. I have seen none.

So long as whatever is being discussed is on topic, and the commenting guidelines are being respected, you should not have any problems with myself or the other Mods.

I have to admit I’m not a Nintendo fan, mainly because of their pricing strategy and their unwillingness to create new IPs. The WiiU is a clear attempt to catch up with the competition, technology-wise, while disrupting once again the typical idea of console gaming, which is a very difficult thing to accomplish twice in a row.

I’m not sure the WiiU can do what its predecessor did 6 years ago: in 2006, the Wii was something unique and different from anything else, while the WiiU of today seems to recombinate existing ideas in an oddly inelegant fashion. This is why I’d wait at least until the end of the current generation (1.5 years from now) to see how the new machine will be managed and supported.

At the moment, except for ZombuU and NSMBu, there’s nothing you can’t find anywhere else at a cheaper price. And there’s the multiplayer factor too: for any multiplatform title out there, thousands of people will be connected right away on Xbox Live and the PSN, while the Nintendo Network will take some time to grow into a rich community.

The WiiU position is a somewhat risky one. We know it could potentially do some things better than the competition, but we’re not being showed any examples. This leaves very few reasons to embrace the platform early in its lifecycle, other than curiosity and confidence in Nintendo’s extensively proven ability.
