      Raito :3
I want my vXIII release date announcement, I want to see whether SE still have it in them. The FFs of yesteryear are popular because of the characters, not just because of their stories and systems. Nocto and Stella need be remembered as fondly as Raito and Fang, at least that’s what I want.

Sadly old snake has no new games coming up so no need to promote him and take attention away from raiden and his new game. Sorry.. Sony might be thinking that<<

It’s hard to remissness when you have so many things hooked up to your television,  and your PS3 isn’t backward compatible. So many old games in the library that are just aching to be played. The problem is that even though Sony is releasing PS1 and PS2 games digitally there are many games that are ignored. If we are truly moving away from this generation of games then we should at least have a monster of a library  left behind.
The idea of HD Classics is awesome. The only thing that sucks is that there really aren’t many games being released that way. Onimusha was one of the coolest franchises of PS2. Capcom and everyone else seems to have forgotten it. No Kingdom Hearts HD. And no love for an obscure game the likes of Beyond The Beyond. Look it up. Classic old school RPG. One of the best games you may have never heard of.
Also in this generation of gaming many franchises have been neglected. That is a list I will will not begin to write. Games……Buy Them. Play Them. Love Them.

    • Kobracon

Well well well, Beyond the Beyond. Thanks, neowindu. I now have something to play on my PSX emulator on my Android :D Saw some screens, looks impressive.

Last few weeks have been crazy for me. Incredibly busy…

My uncle had this operation, so I’ve been spending lots of time at the hospital with him. He is doing better, probably a few more days in transitional care and he will get to go home. At the same time, my elderly aunt has also been in the hospital, she had a bad reaction to new medicine they put her on. She is also in her 80s and almost any little thing gets her pretty sick.

With all of that going on, I’ve been running around like crazy. When I got home last night, I felt like my face was going to melt off of my body or something. I managed to stay up long enough to make some dinner and feed my pets, then I went to bed. Finally got some sleep! I’m still tired though, I’m hoping I’ll be able to return to a somewhat normal life pattern soon.

I did manage to fit in a bit of playtime with Guild Wars 2 during last weekend. I was going to type up an article about it, I hope I can complete it sometime soon.

    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Hey mate, best wishes to your relatives, may they get better soon =)

Now something more pleasant: I had the CE of GW2 pre-ordered but due to the occurrence of the sudden opportunity to study in Tokyo since next month I had it cancelled. I’ve read about various issues, which is expected of any MMO launch, but I still fully intend to immerse myself into Tyria 2.0 (love GW, Factions’s my favorite).
Sylvari Thief is gonna be my first choice: I friggin’ love Caithe in Destiny’s Edge. Can’t wait to follow her story in GW2; I dislike her re-design though, preferred Kekai’s original concept of her.
Are you experiencing any issues or can you recommend GW2 already? I heard there were some kinks with instanced parties and events, stuff like that.

I assume by March GW2 will be a much better game, as ANet constantly improved GW up to EotN. It’s a radically different and vastly improved game now than it was as Prophecies launched.
I’d love to quest and adventure together with you once I’m back in good ‘ol Germany, provided you’re cool with it – gonna be a level 1 sneaky plant after all, who won’t skip any cut-scenes or NPC dialogues ^^.

Oh, and here’s some pure comedy gold I caught on twitter (courtesy of Regina B.’s account):

      http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/yxx3m/suspensions_for_offensive_names_and_inappropriate/c5zttxb

The reason for the ban is hilarious on its own merit but yolo_translator’s interpreting skills cracked me up.

Here’s the full thread, it’s hilarious:

      • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

I think I’ll do my best to finish typing up my quick overview of my time with the game last weekend.

Honestly, it’s been one of the smoothest launches I’ve experienced. I typically play online only games at launch as well.

You don’t really have to make a party in the game, it sounds weird but its easy to just jump into a fight and team up with anyone around you. The game doesn’t punish you for doing this, not like other games tend to do.

It also has a feature that prevents you from waiting on the title screen in a server queue, and lots of games have that problem at launch.

I won’t say much more, gonna try to save that for my article I’m typing up. I’ve been playing Human Ranger. It’s pretty fun so far. Truth be told, Guild Wars 2 is a complicated game to explain, doing so in summarized form is almost impossible.

I’ve actually looked over a few threads like that, and I’ve reported a few idiots in the game myself. It’s very easy to do so, just like right click the name and click report.

I honestly like it, it’s nice to see idiots who wanna annoy or ruin the experience from others get punished for it. I hope it teaches them a lesson.

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Great, now I’m genuinely looking forward to GW2.
I have to play a female Sylvari as they’re voiced by Jennifer Hale, she’s a gorgeous voice actress, probably my favorite one.

I’ve got a good overview of the game already as I followed development closely and chatted with the devs at GC, played a generous demo (40 minutes, probably the longest GC demo ever) and took a closer look at the in-depth articles on the site. Should be well informed :P

Hope to see you in-game once I pick up my copy of the game =)

    • zakou

Wow busy life, a really busy life!

Im glad your uncle is doing better, good news :D hope your aunt gets better too.

Running around like crazy huh? reminds me of when i had so many things to do that i hardly had time left for anything, a day like that put in me sleep mode without me even knowing when.

Pets you say? cats? dogs? :P

    • Kobracon

Hey hope your uncle and aunt get well soon. I’ve been having similar problems as well. My grandmother (whos in her late 80s) has been feeling down and not eating well. Turns out shes bleeding internally (very slowly) but the scary part is the doctors don’t know where…

We brought her for a blood transfusion and shes definitely looking and feeling better. Bad news is, still don’t know whats causing the blood loss. Hopefully we’ll find it soon.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I have been busy the last few weeks. Been super tired and sacrificing sleep so I can have some free time for myself. I have cats and dogs. =)

        • Kobracon

          Grandmother actually, but thanks!

  • GameMasterGG

This day was..a..meh day for me. Well, a Tales of Vesperia copy that I ordered came the last days, as a present for my friend but today I got some problems with the dispatching of Tales of Graces F Special Day 1 Edition :( Hopefully they will dispatch it tomorrow and come by time so I will do an unboxing video, that I will post and share it with you ;)

    • zakou

I cant make up my mind, There are so many games coming out and im sort of broke…There is Tales of Graces F, Tekken, Doa and few others i want to buy but can only afford one lol.

      • GameMasterGG

Same here. There are many games I want to buy, some new ones but many old ones too. In the moment except from Graces F, that will come to me in some days probably, I wanna buy Ni No Kuni like crazy! I want to play after all this time The World Ends With You and Chrono Trigger. Happily, the guy that I bought ToV for will give me Batman Arkham Asylum and that’s good. In the future I want to buy Tales of Xillia too but that’s a long way…

  • zakou

Been waiting for this open forum.

Now as you know i love asking questions so this time im doing a special xD.

Please understand that im not here to flame or troll, ok whatever now that we got it out of the way this is a question i want you to focus on.

Previously we have seen the rage “Square Y U put TWEWY game on the iSO” and others saying that “it’s not that bad of a decision” or “play and then complain”

However as an expert on android/iphone games “played over 100″ i can tell you that, it’s not as good as it sounds, most of smartphone owners dont even have 4´3 displays and that is the biggest unless we count Samsung S3.

So playing smartphone games isnt bad? i have so far not a single possitive thought from all my experience, the only good thing i found on smartphones are business games like Paradise Island and games where you point and click, where not much action/reflex is needed.

Here is my first experience about a year ago with Zenonia, a game on both PSP(buttons!) and Android/iPhone, the game was really good in the psp, very responsive and well done, reminded me of Maplestory for the PC a bit.

Now here is my experience of the same game on Android: I cover alot of my screen (im forced to as the buttons for walking/action are glued to the screen)

Even with the “one of the biggest smartphone screens” i covered about 20-30% of the screen with my fingers.

But then you go! Zakou you noob you can also play the games on the tablets!.  No shit xD i did play games on the tablets but you still get sweaty fingers after 20 min of gameplay, yes the screen is bigger but you can no longer hold the tablet like a portable gaming device like DS, VIta, PSP, the tablets are too big to be a handheld device they are more like portable laptops.

Back to the point( im also trying to beat Zero at long posts)

Yes the touch buttons sometimes feel unresponsive but its more than sometimes, it can be anything, like you slide your finger from the touch buttons, you sweat, and 5% of the time the touch screen wont register your touch because the longer you play the lower preasure you put on the touchscreen and this resluting in auto-unregistering every 30 min of the game.

Note how i havent asked the question yet XD…ok sorry and for you who is sticking for so long i will finally as the question, as well as you who didnt read anything i said:

TL;DR: Do you really find the touch devices so good? did you really try many games on touch-only devices? don’t you think that dual touch/button devices are better? if not please explain why?

    • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

I’ll have to take a closer look and post a response later in the day. Fairly busy at the moment, but I promise I’ll come back and share my opinion on it.

    • Kobracon

I have an Android and have actually played ALOT of games on it. Much like holding a controller for the first time, it takes some time to get used to. I’ve played all 3 Zenonia games as well as a plethora of other RPGs on the android and I agree that touch buttons can be a little annoying.

It just takes getting used to honestly. If you’re accidentally pressing the buttons, keep your thumbs higher and press only when needed. My fingers aren’t what people would call small, but I’ve had relative success with touch buttons.

About which is better, well I was raised with button controllers, so I’m biased to the button side, but one thing I have found is that the best touch games are those that embrace its touch mechanic rather than try to make a pseudo button system. Games like FantasyXRunner are fun and responsive because rather than buttons, they used the entire halves of the screen. Left screen to jump, right screen to attack.

I feel TWEWY could work well if they don’t include any buttons. (and remembering TWEWY’s battle style, I’m not worried about them having buttons) My only concern though is the lack of 2 screens…..will wait and see how they do it.

Anyone else see the new game from Game Freak? You know, the guys who make Pokemon.

It’s called Rhythm Hunter: Harmo Knight. I just watched the footage from the Nintendo Direct stream I missed this morning. It looks like a fun game. Obviously, kids were in mind as the target audience, but I think it has a charm to it, something draws me in and makes me want to play it. I also love the world map design, it kinda reminds me of Super Mario World.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckwUS0yo67o&feature=player_embedded

    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

It’s great to see Ninty allowing Game Freak to spread their wings. I feared they would remain Ninty’s exclusive Pokemon developer. I’m not much into rhythm games but this one looks charmingly cute, even the violence is cutesy. It’s still up to debate whether an international release will follow or even whether it’s even planned. I certainly see a market for it and Game Freak have established themselves as an ace developer.

This announcement gives me hope that Ninty will allow the brilliant minds in Texas (Retro Studios) to spread their wings beyond Metroid and supporting development/ tech advice roles and launch a brand new IP. WiiU, anyone? Retro have already eclipsed Rare (and believe me, it pains me to say that as Rare have a special spot in my gamer’s heart, they used to be tech-wizzes and genius designers after all) in many aspects. Among Ninty’s own development studios Retro are their best one. Their Kyoto studios are stellar but Retro already caught up and have further room to improve.

I stated earlier already that this year’s TGS will probably be something special and now I firmly believe that both Ninty and Sony will rock the show. I hope so, as it means a win-win situation for all of us who serve one master, whose name is gaming.
Sony won GC even before it started, Ninty have to show some more new IPs for WiiU (and probably 3DS, though I’m mostly interested in WiiU as E3 did not convince me to buy one yet), I want to see that killer app that yells: “buy me already!” at their conference. Rayman Legends and ZombiU are nice but not killer apps to me and I’ve got all of the ports (ME3 and Batman:AC) on PC and PS3 already, no desire to double-dip for some slight enhancements.

Finally I’m getting more excited than ever for a gaming trade show. Please don’t disappoint me Ninty and Sony, I’d gladly pay if you just convince me to do so =)

      • Kobracon

Took me a while to realise Ninty = Nintendo XD

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Sorry, thought it’s obvious from the context ^^.

          • Kobracon

Nah its alright. So you’re Gematus’s Man in Japan huh? Yoroshiku onegaishimasu.

    • GameMasterGG

This game seems good and really fun! I like it too and looking forward to it. And you know, that “Left, Jump, Right, Hit, Hit” reminded me of Parapa the Rapper xD “Kick, hit, kick. It’s all in the mind!” :P

      • Kobracon

“The Master, the Master is invincible HAI!” God I loved Parappa the Rapper

    • Kobracon

Wow that looks pretty awesome. The 3DS line up is looking good. I hope to god theres a new Osu Tatakae Ouendan on the way for the 3DS. That NEEDS to happen.

  • LordKaiser

WKC2 neoseeker petition seems to had failed as it don’t reach 1k signatures yet. This it’s the last game I’ll support from D3 Publisher (Namco Bandai) and Level-5 or Sony. I think I’m done with them as it seems they only launched the game as a quick grab cash and never planned to support it. I’m still waiting for Code Geas costumes for Graces f and it seems Sony only care about Action games and FPS games only. I don’t care about next gen consoles at all. White knight chronicles may have failed as a offline JRPG but the game serves better as a FTP online RPG.

  • xMCXx

Is Tales of Graces F worth getting?
I don’t really like the art style, though.

    • LordKaiser

It have the best battle system than any other Tales games till now. and the story is descent. If you find it cheap it’s worth getting IMO.

      • http://www.facebook.com/Flaviu.D Flaviu Draghis

I didn´t buy because its a bad port in my opinion, all that i want is tales of vesperia T .T

        • Anime10121

Please dont go and talk bad about the game just because we didnt get Vesperia.  While I think Vesperia is by far the better game of the two, after having played and completed both (Graces on PS3 and Vesperia on 360), Graces is NOT a bad port in the slightest.  It improved upon the original Wii version (which I’ve played but not beaten) on Wii so much that its not even funny.

I, like you, also want Vesperia for PS3 too, but dont let your wants cloud the truth and spread lies and disdain for a series which desperately needs to grow.  While Tales of Graces isnt the best Tales game, it IS a decent and fun jRPG and by no means is a bad port of the Wii game, considering it fixed just about every issue that game had PLUS added so much more to it.

          • InternatlGamer3

I’m Importing Tales of Vesperia The BEST version.I’ve already beaten Tales of Vesperia for 360 before my system RROD.I’m so gunna enjoy playing their game with all of its bonus content on my more preferred system of choice PS3

            • Anime10121

Ah, I would LOVE to do the same, but I cant justify playing an rpg that I cant understand (even if I have completed it b4 on 360).  The main thing about jrpgs to me is the story, and I feel its pointless to have to skip through so much dialogue that I cant read:(

However props to you and enjoy it, as its a fun game either way:P

        • http://moefx.wordpress.com/ barklight

Play the XBox one. It’s worth it.
The only reason i bought an XBox back then because of the JRPGs ( Vesperia and Lost Odyssey especially ).

    • Anime10121

The game’s fun, and has lots of sidequests and things to do besides the main story.  The character designs, characters themselves, and plot are all garbage though.  I’d go so far as to say it has the worst story/characters of any Tales release so far in the US.  But I’d still recommend it because the gameplay is fun as all heck and the plot, while not the best, is at least consistent.

      • xMCXx

        Hm, thanks.
        It’s a Wii port, right?
Is there maybe a real PS3 Tales-Game coming out in the western world in the near future?
I’m not really into the Tales series. No wonder, since they are scarcely released in Europe or PS3.
But I’d like to get into it.

        • Anime10121

Yea, its a port of a Wii game, but it adds SO Much over what the Wii game had, thats hardly an issue.  It still looks good enough for a PS3 RPG, looking better than exclusives like Atelier Rorona and Disgaea games.  Being a Wii port doesn’t hinder its gameplay in the least, as it actually plays BETTER on a PS3 controller than the original on Wii.

But to answer your question, there is a PS3 exclusive Tales coming next year called Tales of Xillia.  It doesnt have a release quarter yet, its just confirmed for release in the US and Europe next year.

          • xMCXx

Allright, I think I’ll rent it maybe first. Just to make sure.^^

      • zakou

The worst? ughh a way to welcome my first Tales of game for console…god xD i hope the story is not as bad as people say it is -_- i pre ordered the day one edition even with my low budget right now.

        • Anime10121

Trust me, you wont regret it, even with it being kinda corny in the story department, its still an extremely fun game to play through.  And it does at least have 2 characters that are at the least likeable to me Pascal (Pink haired girl) and Malik (blond older male).  The game IS fun as all heck, and the plot starts off REALLY strong during the first arc, weakens to crap during the second, and gets a little better around the third story part (the exclusive PS3 part), not much better, but I still feel the future arc is the better part of the game.

Dont feel bad about preordering it, its still a great game, and its actually one of the best JRPGs on the system right now, even with its crap plot/characters/friendship is power theme.

          • zakou

Well i love good story based jrpg, and even anime, imo Naruto is deep on the friendship/rivals story and i really like it.

            • Anime10121

While I wont necessarily go as far as to call Naruto “deep”, it is a pretty good anime.  It gets far more slack than it deserves, as its a pretty good story.  Even the filler arcs in the anime are far more enjoyable than other shounen anime (Bleach and DBZ for example).

I also love jrpgs stories and anime so I do know where you’re coming from, but even some that dont  have the best story can be saved by amazing gameplay!  Though as I said, the stories not all bad, just the middle part (the main plot).  The childhood arc has simplistic gameplay but likeable characters and a good plot.  The middle part (the main story) has a crappy plot but excellent gameplay. The Future arc (the Ps3 exclusive arc) has a good enough story and excellent gameplay.  But I would still recommend it to ANY fan of jrpgs, because its still better than your average run of the mill jrpg (as most Tales games are).

              • zakou

Thanks alot :D i do agree with you on the naruto part.

But yeah i didn’t even play Tales of Graces F yet so i’ll just wait for it :D 1 more day!

I think almost all of Tales series’s arts are like that. Fantasy kinda anime-ish.
      But it’s good nonetheless.

-this comment comes from a Tales series fanboy.

      • Anime10121

While all of them are “anime” inspired, I much more prefer Fujishima’s art, than Inomata’s character designs.  While Inomata’s art usually looks good on paper, they dont really transfer well to the game if they arent sprites.  But I can see where hes coming from though, as kids, their designs are cute, but as adults (the meat of the game), I think these are the worst desings Inomata has ever created.  But as I said though, the game was fun (I platinumed plus did a lot more), so I had no problem going through :P

        • http://moefx.wordpress.com/ barklight

          Isn’t Inomata female?
I prefer Fujishima’s art too than Inomata’s, Inomata’s art is kinda you know, josei-shoujo.

You have no idea how easily that comment made my heart and mind race. I played this game so many times before, I think I know it by heart.

And to think that, back in the day, I never thought I could play any game that’d match and surpass FF VII (7)! Little did I know, that one day I’d play what’d become my favorite game of all time :) And the most ironic, it’s very sequel!

FF8 was my first rpg and its my favorite FF, I actually played it on PC. I usually play it once a year.

            • FaithlessMr

Same here! It’s like a tradition for me as well. Such a wonderful game, I never get tired of it. Ever.

FF VII (7) was my first rpg, which I really liked back then, but VIII (8) blew me away and easily snagged the spot as my fav game of all time, to this day.

I always liked Irvine. I think I was influenced by his awesome bullet based limit break attacks. Rapid Fire! Bang! Bang! Bang! spamathon. I always loved doing that lol.

(Funny note- Google spell check wanted me to change spamathon to spermathon. I’m like… google, man, what dafuq? Like, why you be doing this to me?) I must admit, I did love the button combo limit breaks for Zell. I remember getting all nostalgic when I played FFX, and Auron had a similar button press limit break. I literally remember saying out loud… “This reminds me of Zell’s Limit Breaks in FF8! Cool!” =D

        • FaithlessMr

I’ll be honest with you, I always hated Irvine as well :x (not as much as I hated Squall though). But over the years, I played through the game so many times, I kinda learned how to like him, and got to understood his motivations better.

Auron limit breaks weren’t as demanding as Zell’s though!

  • KingKellogg The Waffle Haggler

Oddly enough I am playing ff8.

can anyone tell me if the lost planet series is any good,

    • Kobracon

One was pretty good, 2 went the route of multiplayer…unsure about 3

      • http://www.facebook.com/Flaviu.D Flaviu Draghis

worth buying ?  i am a story player

        • Kobracon

One worth buying. Story was pretty cool and ended with an epic battle. You can skip 2 and 3….

          • zakou

What he said, lp 1 is actually a good game. Skip lp 2 and 3.

  • InternatlGamer3

Anyone know about the other PS3 exclsuvive RPG titles coming out in 2013.
    Dragon’s Crown
Tales of Xillia(really looking forward to this.)
Ni no Kuni Wrath of the White Witch
    Time & Eternity
The Witch and The Hundred Knights(Nippon Ichi)
    And more
we can hope for Final Fantasy Versus XIII to get a 2013 release.

    • InternatlGamer3

      I’m so getting these games

    • AdamBoy64

I’m looking forward to Ni No Kuni. Looks like it could be quite good.
I’ll probably start looking forward to Xillia, but I haven’t opened Graces F yet. Seems a bit too soon.

      • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Oh believe me, Xillia is worth playing asap. The Tales series are not connected chronologically (except Xillia and Xillia 2 of course), so it shouldn’t be a problem. Ni no Kuni is like a dream come true: an interactive Ghibli Anime/RPG hybrid =)

        • AdamBoy64

Yes. I’ll play Xillia when it comes out in English – but that will probably be a while away – after I finish Graces F I’d say.
What did you think of Graces F?

          • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Tough question as I did not play it (yet) :P
I love Pascal’s character design. That’s the sole reason I’m interested in Graces F ^^
I’ll pick it up eventually just to show my appreciation to NamcoBandai for localizing it.

    • Kobracon

Not forgetting FFXIII-3, Hyperdimensional Neptunia V, SRW OG for the PS3, and Persona 5 (fingers crossed and DOUBLE crossed)

  • FaithlessMr

This is now automatically my favorite Open forum ever, simply because it features an header image from my favorite game of all time.

Squall sucks though, hate him. But he’s a minor problem amidst a sea of awesomness and nostalgia.

That being said…Post some awesome FF VIII music guize :D

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WwCzYbOTnw

There, nostalgia all over the place.

  • FaithlessMr

Another one, just because the FF VIII OST is the best ost in the series as well:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=1eU0tRBHnE0&feature=endscreen

Why hello there, memories. Suddenly, I feel 14 years old again :D

  • Kobracon

Ah Squall…I don’t care what anyone says, the gunblade will always be my most fave weapon!

So on to questions. I only have a very small question today (You gotta slow down these Open Forums, Sal. The ol Brain Lake’s runnin a tad dry with so much use….) *ahem* Anyway, my question is: Has anyone played Pandora’s Tower for the Wii yet? Is it good? Looked awesome in the trailers.

    • FaithlessMr

Wish I had O.o People say it’s kinda Zelda-ish, and not as good as Xenoblade and The Last Story.

Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition Unboxing pictures coming soon.

(I’m getting them prepared.) Took quite a few.

Edit: I’ll upload them later today. Need to get some sleep… I’ll leave one picture for those who care.

Thanks mate, I’m so sad I had to cancel my CE due to that Japan-semester. That picture soothes my mind a little =)

  • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

    =)

    • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

I’ve been meaning to get in touch with you regarding TGS. Since you’re attending this year, is there any possibility you’d want to do some coverage for the site?

      • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Well, it seems I can only attend Sunday as Friday and Saturday are University days. I’m taking my camera and my netbook with me, so I could write something Sunday night (local time). Maybe you could give me some input on what would interest Gematsu’s readers most, as you would’ve seen the press conferences by then already. I’m afraid I won’t, University takes priority.

That way I could maybe hunt down some developers or talk to somebody at Nintendo and Sony regarding their reveals on the show. A structure, or bullet points would be greatly beneficial as it saves me time procuring the information or taking photos or filming.

        • FaithlessMr

           I envy you so ;_;

          • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Thanks, but let me put this into perspective: The exchange semester is self-financed which means half a year in Tokyo will cost me roughly 6k Euros (7.5k US$). Money I won’t get back, but I see it as an investment. Might come in handy on my CV once I apply for a Job in Japan.

It’s exciting nonetheless. Visited GC last year in Cologne and visiting TGS this year in Tokyo. Somehow I understand the buzz surrounding E3, as it’s the most important one, but I prefer GC and hopefully TGS will rock as well. This year’s E3 was weak, GC was awesome and I hope that TGS can 1-up GC.

            • FaithlessMr

I envy you still ;_; I finished my studies already (unless I decide to go for a PhD now), but that’s an opportunity I’d love to take. Sucks that as a psychologist, a job that depends a lot on cultural meanings and dialogue, it’s hard for me to work abroad here in europe, more so in such a different culture from the one I’m currently used to. I’ll definitely need to work some more on my japanese before I even think about getting a job there.

I’d perhaps get a job easily as a teacher, but I’d still want to come back to work as a shrink someday.

              • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Starting as a teacher (English) is easy as no Japanese skills are required. It’s good for starters, I guess. I’m lucky being German as we have federal grants and scholarships which support us tremendously financially.
I’m finishing studies after my B.A., thus I couldn’t pass on this opportunity. It’ll be essential if I wanna work and settle down in Japan with just a B.A.

                • FaithlessMr

Best of luck with all of that!

        • http://gematsu.com/ Sal Romano

Alright. I’ll start putting some stuff together, and add more as the show’s preliminary announcements are made public. Stay tuned.

          • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

            =)

Thanks for the post.I really appreciate it.

Nice to know that two tablet controllers will be supported.

      • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

You’re welcome. Maybe you could keep an eye on EuroGamer’s Digital Foundry (DF) blog as WiiU releases. Richard Leadbutter will certainly do a thorough tech analysis of WiiU’s hardware once he has the shipping product in his hands. It shouldn’t be published later than a week after launch ;)

  • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

Sorry for the delay everyone. I finally found the time to post the pictures I took of the Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition. I tried to take pictures step by step and I opened up the box.

(Sorry for annoying flash in some of the videos. My camera is kinda old. I wish I had a good camera where I could have recorded an unboxing video in HD.)

This might turn into a slightly long post, I plan to have a bit of text to go along with each picture I post. Well, here we go! (You can follow along by clicking the image links or viewing the smaller images attached to this post. Warning – Very large pics at the links.)

I was really surprised to see this huge box when I went to the front door. This box is bigger than most console boxes!

    http://i.minus.com/iCadcToVNCllF.jpg

You might have already seen this one. I decided to take a picture of the front of the box before I opened it.

    http://i.minus.com/iEXWDySo3zIBN.jpg

This is the back of the box. It shows everything that is included in the CE.

    http://i.minus.com/ioFHAaBljDmvx.jpg

Here he is, Rytlock Brimstone has escaped the box!

    http://i.minus.com/ibz2KlJmC6Np7q.jpg

This beautiful tin case has a textured map of Tyria. (The world of Guild Wars 2.) It was sitting below Rytlock inside the box.

    http://i.minus.com/ibeEK9YIO79Sev.jpg

The first thing you see when you open the case is this white box. It contains the Prints from the Guild Wars 2 art team. I decided to open them up last.

    http://i.minus.com/i8S9SS3GEUOez.jpg

Next up is the Custom Art Frame. Once again, what else can I say but beautiful?

    http://i.minus.com/iUIq78DgrnWi0.jpg

The back of the Frame. You know, in case you don’t believe me. xD

    http://i.minus.com/ibzxIaHmjifvH2.jpg

Here we have the Game, the soundtrack CD, and the Making of Guild Wars 2 Book.

    http://i.minus.com/i6Ns4ZZ9Yq80w.jpg

This is the inside of the game case. Fairly standard stuff.

    http://i.minus.com/ibsn4TwHRrldQI.jpg

One of the first pages inside the sexy book. These are the signatures of the team at ArenaNet who worked on Guild Wars 2. Pretty cool!

    http://i.minus.com/ibqD1nOpBkRNcF.jpg

Another page of the book. This is the introduction message from Mike O’Brien, ArenaNet Founder and President.

    http://i.minus.com/iZIc9qfy8AUw0.jpg

I decided to open the book up to a random page and take a picture. Everything about this book is top of the line. It really goes into great detail about how Guild Wars 2 was made.

    http://i.minus.com/iwVGaqgkMkTIC.jpg

Had enough pictures yet? This is the track list for the best of CD. It’s also the back of the box that contains the Art Prints. Time to open it up!

    http://i.minus.com/i40A7gNFTyDKw.jpg

Wow! That’s what I said when I first opened this up. Don’t worry I took a picture of all the Art.

    http://i.minus.com/i2ZkcrIcfxsxe.jpg

    Simply beautiful.

    http://i.minus.com/i51QN4WdkXmQf.jpg

I really like the one of the pretty lady on the right. It’s stunning.

    http://i.minus.com/i1eVvjcRHOq2f.jpg

Last picture! Rytlock decided he wanted to have an all out fight with some of my other friends. Let the Battle Royale begin! I did this last one for fun, hope you like it. =D

    http://i.minus.com/i2CqlJi4G6Gpg.jpg

Whew… Finally made it through all 18 pictures I took. I hope you enjoyed this look at the Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition. I must admit, this is possibly the most impressive CE I’ve ever owned. It really is fantastic. I haven’t made much progress reading the Making of Book, but it alone is worth a purchase in my opinion.

Sorry about the length of this post. I had to mess around with the format before Disqus was pleased. If you enjoyed this post, feel free to like it, but please respond. I want to read what you have to say about it. Who knows, I might just do something like this again in the future. One last thing, keep an eye out for my Guild Wars 2 article to hit Gematsu in the next few days. I hope you enjoy it.

    • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

Looks like Disqus will not be denied. It arranged all of my images at the bottom from last to first. If you view the images while reading, start with the last image (brown box) and work your way up. It might not be displayed correctly for some, for that I apologize.

If you want to view all the images on one page, feel free to visit this link.

    • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Thanks mate. Now I kinda regret cancelling my CE. It looks beautiful.

      • http://gematsu.com/ Zero

Thanks for the response! It really is an impressive CE. I actually got this as an early Birthday present. I went ahead and pre-paid the entire thing back in June. ^^

        • 浪黒雷 (ro-kurorai)

Happy Birthday, even if I’m late =)
Well, the standard edition will have to do. Got CE’s of Factions and NF, so it’s not that bad after all.

Anyone remember Contra teaser at E3 last year?
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMi_63T9lHw
    What happened to it?
I hope they finally reveal the game at this upcoming TGS.
