Capcom: “Some good stuff is coming” for Wii U
But you'll have to wait to find out what.
August 6, 2012 / 12:50 PM EDT / (@salromano)

Wii U’s seen strong third-party support from Ubisoft, and decent support from publishers such as Electronic Arts, Warner. Bros, and THQ. But what about Capcom? When 3DS was first launched, Capcom came at the handheld with full force, with releases such as Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, and the later released Resident Evil: Revelations. But we haven’t seen anything from the publisher regarding Wii U yet.

Asked about whether or not they’re planning support for the high-def Nintendo console on the Capcom Unity forums, Capcom’s Christian Svensson responded: “Some good stuff is coming and I’d love to tell you more… but for now, I have to keep it a surprise. Sorry.”

Looks like we’ll have to play the waiting game.

Thanks, Nintendo Everything.

So long as it means Monster Hunter in HD!

Monster hunter is the biggest franchise capcom have right now..it would be damn great if they bring it to Wii u

Dragons Dogma could turn into something big as well. The MH team was behind it iirc and I thought it was really well done.

      • Bobo Fango

MH team had nothing to do with DD.

Alas you are correct. I must’ve mixed it up with his statements.

Either way it could be something big.

Capcom hyping again like there is no tomorrow.

Capcom must really hate Sony right now.

I don’t see what Sony has to do with Capcom’s supporting the Wii U. Are Capcom not supporting PlayStation 3, as well?

No they’re not. Where is PlayStation’s rightfully deserved Monster Hunter for PS3 & PS Vita? Why do they have to advertise every multiplat of theirs on the 360 besides Street Fighter? Why do they give 360 more exclusive content like that timed exclusive Resident Evil 6 demo? Don’t even try to bring up Street Fighter x Tekken or Okami because those titles are significant on PlayStation then they are on Xbox.

All I’m asking for is to see them advertise their multiplats for every platform and not just one and quit showing more favoritism to Nintendo. Ask yourself this why put Monster Hunter 4 on 3DS and not bring a Monster Hunter to PS Vita when you know Monster Hunter sells more on PlayStation. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd proves that.

I think you’re severely misinformed. And your post displays a great amount of fanboyism.

I don’t think you can claim who “rightfully deserves” a franchise. Yes, Monster Hunter started on PlayStation and made it big on PlayStation, but becoming available to multiple platforms is a natural part of a franchise’s life cycle. Look at Final Fantasy. Had Final Fantasy VII not been the first game to make the jump from Nintendo to the then new PlayStation, the series may not have become what it is today.

I have not seen any Capcom advertisements lately, but the ones you’re referring to were probably payed for by Microsoft. Sony does this too, with Capcom and with other publishers. Ever see an Assassin’s Creed commercial? They usually don’t advertise the Xbox 360 version, because Sony is working the advertising campaign.

As far as Capcom giving Xbox 360 “more exclusive content” than PlayStation 3 – I believe that’s your fanboyism getting in the way of facts. Yes, the Resident Evil 6 demo is a timed exclusive to Xbox 360, but as you mentioned, Capcom’s given PlayStation 3 exclusive fighters in Street Fighter X Tekken, and games like Sengoku Basara, the upcoming E.X. Troopers, and Okami HD. I’m not sure how them being “more significant” on PlayStation excludes them from the count in any way.

I’ll get straight to the point. Stop getting so hung up on platform, and start getting hung up on games. If there’s a game you want to play and it’s not on the platform you own, either wait and hope it will eventually come, or buy the other platform. Don’t show blatant fanboyism or port beg – it goes against the guidelines.

I will also add this to the post @salromano:disqus made.

We would really appreciate taking off topic discussion to the Open Forum in the future.
