Atlus, Gust, Namco Bandai, more talk future titles
Persona developer planning surprise collaboration project.Much like it did a couple weeks back, Famitsu this week features several exclusive interviews with key Japanese game creators.
Persona series director Katsura Hasino said he is currently focused on the next numbered title. (He doesn’t mention a series, but we’re assuming he’s talking about Persona 5.) Atlus designer Shigenori Soejima has drawn sketches, and the project is steadily moving forward. Also, Atlus is planning a collaboration project that will surprise everyone. However, its announcement is still far ahead.
Gust‘s Yoshito Okamura said he is working so his next game reflects both his company and their new parent company Tecmo Koei. His next title will have the image of a rule of right RPG.
Capcom‘s Hiroyuki Kobayashi said there will likely be an announcement regarding the future expansion of the Sengoku Basara series at an upcoming event.
Namco Bandai producer Kay Hirono teased, “Since becoming a part of the team various things have been carried out, the time we can make announcement about that is coming sometime.”
Tales of Xillia 2 producer Hideo Baba, also of Namco Bandai, said, “Tales of Xillia was a chance to change things up and it caught the eyes of those involved in the industry.”
Marvelous AQL’s Keinchiro Takaki shared his thoughts on a possible Senran Kagura for Wii U. He has ideas about how the game can work with the system’s functionality, but they’re currently just in his head. He will continue to do his best to make games that don’t make sense. (His words, not mine!)
Yoshifumi Hashimoto, also of Marvelous, said Rune Factory 4 was received favorably, and that production on another installment has been decided.
Thanks, Game Nyarth.
