Play as Daryl Dixon and head to Atlanta.

Activision will publish a first-person shooter based on the hit TV series The Walking Dead for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC in 2013.

The Walking Dead: Video Game is in development at Terminal Reality, known for the BloodRayne series and Ghostbusters: The Video Game, and will follow the story of Daryl Dixon and his brother Merle on a “haunting, unforgiving quest to make their way to the supposed safety of Atlanta.”

Zombies will use sight, sound, and smell to detect Dixon, who has the option of using stealth or brute force to combat the undead. Along the way, Dixon will scavenge supplies, such as ammunition and food, and meet “a slew of other characters.” Whether or not these characters will accompany Dixon is completely up to the player.

Thanks, IGN.

Why should i care when Activision has ruined FPS in a # of ways with endlessly rehashing COD.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

The constant internet belly aching about CoD is really getting to be pathetic.

    • Acidicsam

Activision published Singularity, which was fan-tucking-fastic. When it comes to games that aren’t CoD, Activision actually seems pretty good about letting developers make fun games.

    Argh…. Activision?

I really like the series. I assume this will be butchered into a QTE and testosterone filled crap fest that is not at all like the show.

  • Zero

I agree, even though Activision is only publishing, I have a hard time supporting the company. The sad thing is, I’m sure I’m not alone, and even if the game is good it probably won’t sell very well.

Terminal Reality = Next studio to be killed by Activision?

  • DarthBrian

    lol Activision.

  • HanPaul

It’s really hard to get hyped for anything Activision’s involved in.

Man, if it’s good, it’s good. If it’s bad, it’s bad. Wait till we start seeing previews / the game releases.

      @ Sal Romano

I can agree with that statement.

      but…

Don’t you think games associated with Activision today are kinda fighting an uphill battle? People claim EA is hated by everyone, but I find Activision to be even more despised by gamers.

Why? I suppose we have to mention recycling CoD over and over. Personally, I don’t like how they have treated developers/studios lately.

      Thoughts on that?

  • Acidicsam

This sounds like the developers are taking the DayZ mod, making it single player, and throwing it in the Walking Dead universe.

I never understood why people hate Activision.. COD gets good scores, extremely popular and the sales to back it up.

    • Malcolm Reynolds

Theres your answer in a nutshell. People always hate whats popular as they run out to buy it.
How about the people who post about “Vita is to expensive” from their iDevice or people who hate CoD for being rehash but have their preorder in for Halo 4?
I dont know why people are the way they are….my friend who is on his 4th xbox 360 hates Sony and cant understand why I hate MS. I tell him I’m done with them after 4 brand new systems RRoD’d and the last 3 yrs of NO exclusives.
He says there are plenty of exclusives on the box and proceeds to talk about ME1, Kameo and PDZ.
      O_o
I ask him why he hates Sony?
He says he just prefers to buy all his games on xbox.
(I think he has some form of Autism and he is subconsciously attracted to green cases).
Anyway, the point is….there are companies in gaming that deserve hate and dont get it and companies that dont deserve it but do get it.
People are simply stupid mind controlled sheep and are just empty vessels begging the media to give them direction in life.
      Shame.

They are paid by Activision to hand out good scores.
Seriously, CoD is the same shit every year and gets good scores while other games are criticised for it.

Good or bad this is 1 more for the saturation.
