Retro/Grade, 24 Caret Games’ award winning reverse-timed space battle rhythm / shoot ‘em up, will launch for PlayStation Network on August 21, the developer has announced.

Unlike classic shmups, Retro/Grade is played in reverse. The beginning of the game sees players stop a massive alien invasion, but the dstruction damages the space-time contiuum, and time begins to reverse. As Rick Rocket, you must restore time to its proper state, unfirin your shots, which are timed to the beat of the game’s soundtrack, and dodging enemy fire, returning their shots to their weapons.

The game’s soundtrack will also be made as a separate download on PlayStation Network.

Sony has a lot of PSN games coming.

I wish it would be as good as XBLA, though.
I’m jelly of Spelunky and Trials. : P

Both services definitely have their strong points. Dyad and Malicious, for example, are pretty damn good. If you’re interested in Spelunky, there’s a game called Spelunker HD on PSN. Not sure how similar the concepts are, but the titles are definitely close!

Yeah, and PSN got Stranger’s Wrath. Forgot about that.
Also, Spelunker doesn’t look as appealing as Spelunky to me, but thanks for the tip!

The PC version of Spelunky is free.

Yeah, but it doesn’t look that good and has a few differences.

          Just played the PC version.
100k Gold for the very first shortcut? Yeah, fuck you game.
I can only hope that it will get a PSN release.
